Chapter 386 Found the Wrong Person

Elliot squinted at the black sedan blocking their car.

He knew cars well and immediately recognized it as a limited edition Rolls-Royce.

"Get out and take a look!" Elliot said.

Cillian responded and unbuckled his seatbelt to get out of the car.

At the same time, someone got out of the black sedan.

Kevin and Cillian exchanged glances and almost simultaneously spoke. "It's you?"

Kevin had investigated Elliot's background and found out his assistant was named Cillian. He thought it was just a coincidence and didn't think much of it. He didn't expect it to actually be the Cillian he knew.

Cillian knew Kevin worked for Grant. He was surprised, though, wondering why Kevin was blocking Elliot's car.

At this moment, the rear window of the Rolls-Royce rolled down, revealing a strikingly handsome yet cold face.

Seeing Grant, Cillian understood.

But the way they blocked the car was too frightening. If he hadn't braked in time, it would have been disastrous.

A high-end coffee shop.

Two men with different temperaments but similar auras were sitting.

One was gentle and elegant, the other cunning and cold.

The entire southern section of the coffee shop was reserved, with only the two of them and their assistants standing not far away.

"Cillian, how did you become Elliot's assistant?" Kevin asked, puzzled. "You never told me. That's not cool."

They were high school classmates and college roommates, but after graduation, they went their separate ways.

They hardly saw each other, only occasionally sending holiday greetings on Facebook.

"You never told me either," Cillian retorted, glancing at him.

He had only recently found out that Kevin worked for Grant.

Elliot had helped Marlowe, and in the process, he had done some investigating. What he found was surprising.

Kevin said, "I didn't have the chance."

Cillian replied, "Neither did I."

"Let's not talk about that. Tell me about your Mr. Sullivan. What kind of person is he?" Kevin asked casually. "I haven't seen you complain about him on New Feed."

Cillian had been with Elliot for six or seven years and was already a qualified assistant with strong vigilance. Almost as soon as Kevin finished speaking, he knew his intention.

He looked at him defensively. "Kevin, don't try to get information out of me. I don't know anything."

Kevin didn't expect Cillian to be so cunning. He hadn't even started, and Cillian had already noticed.

"We're old friends," he said, putting an arm around Cillian's neck with a playful smile. "How could I try to get information from you? Just catching up with you."

"Really?" Cillian tilted his head and glanced at him, his face full of disbelief.

On the other side, the two powerful men had been sitting in silence for a long time without saying a word.

Elliot broke the silence first. "Mr. Scott, did you stop me today to discuss a collaboration with the Sullivan Group?"

Grant's displeased eyes narrowed slightly, staring at him, seeing through his pretense.

Elliot remained indifferent, his expression relaxed.

Suddenly, Grant smirked. "Collaboration is possible, as long as the Sullivan Group can handle it."

The words were filled with threats and sarcasm.

The Sullivan Group and the Scott Group had always stayed out of each other's way. Their companies didn't compete or collaborate and weren't even in the same location.

In terms of strength, Elliot didn't deny that the Scott Group was much stronger than the Sullivan Group.

But Elliot wasn't afraid of threats. "How does Mr. Scott want to collaborate?" He kept a smile on his face, but it lacked warmth. "I'm all ears."

Grant, with an indifferent and domineering attitude, said, "I don't care how we collaborate. I don't mind even if all the Scott Group's contracts go to the Sullivan Group; it depends on your sincerity."

Elliot was silent.

He didn't expect Grant to be such a straightforward person.

"What does Mr. Scott mean by sincerity?" he asked cautiously, squinting.

"Marlowe!" Grant furrowed his brows and uttered a name.

Elliot's expression didn't change. He chuckled. "From the name, it sounds like a girl, right? Mr. Scott should know that there are never any unfamiliar women around me, so I don't know this Marlowe you're talking about."

"Mr. Scott, if you're looking for information, you've got the wrong person," he said, spreading his hands.

Grant tried to find a flaw in his expression, but there was none.

If Alexander hadn't told him and he hadn't investigated, he would have believed that Elliot didn't know Marlowe and had nothing to do with her.

Grant decided to be direct, his deep, sharp eyes flashing with cold light. "Do you think I would come to you without any evidence?"

Elliot raised an eyebrow and smiled. "If you're so capable, why come to me?"

An intense struggle was on the horizon.
