Chapter 245 Carrying Weight for 7 Miles

Victoria was caught off guard for a sec, then a sly grin spread across her face. "You really are rolling in it."

She gave Alexander a quick peck on his cool lips and chirped, "But I gotta say, I dig your bossy rich vibe."

Before she could finish, Alexander pulled her in for a deeper kiss. They made out like there was no tomorrow.

Victoria straddled him, her soft hands wrapped around his neck.

Alexander's hand rested on her back, while his other hand tangled in her soft hair, pulling her closer.

Landon strolled back in, whistling with his hands in his pockets, only to walk in on this steamy scene.

He froze, his whistling cut off mid-note. 'Seriously, why do I always walk in on this?'

He just wanted to grab something. Last time, Alexander had told him to move out, but Victoria had begged for him to stay at Serenity Grove Manor. This time, though, he doubted any amount of pleading would help.

He tried to act like he hadn't seen anything, bending over to sneak out, but then he bumped into Matthew.

To make things worse, Matthew had a loud mouth. "Yo, Landon, what are you sneaking around for?"

Landon was speechless.

Then, a cold, angry voice that made him shiver came from behind. "Landon!"

His back snapped straight.

Matthew was also caught off guard. 'What is going on?'

Landon shot Matthew a look, then grabbed his hand, silently pleading, "Don't leave me to face Alexander's wrath alone."

Landon turned around stiffly, his mouth twitching as he tried to smile, but he couldn't. Seeing Alexander's dark, cold face, how could he?

When Matthew had shouted, Victoria had already gotten off Alexander. Now she was sitting properly on the couch, her head buried in something.

Victoria was super embarrassed.

Caught up in the moment, she didn't know how much Landon and Matthew had seen. She couldn't just brush it off.

Landon raised his hand and swore, "I didn't see anything, really, you gotta believe me."

Alexander's eyes were icy, his stern face glaring at him. "Right now, pack your stuff and get out."

Landon pouted, not daring to say another word. Alexander's message was crystal clear.

Matthew still didn't know what had happened. He really hadn't seen anything, but he wasn't dumb. He could tell the situation was bad for him. Even if he had something urgent to say, he didn't dare. Besides, it wasn't really urgent; Caesar had just stopped eating and drinking for a few days.

But that wasn't a big deal, Caesar would just lose some weight. But for Matthew, it was different. Alexander's temper was scary.

Just as Matthew was about to sneak away, he heard Alexander's cold voice say, "You, go to the back hill and run seven miles with a ten-pound weight."

Matthew was speechless. His face fell. He was innocent.

He didn't even know what had happened, so why was he being punished?

"Any objection?" Alexander raised an eyebrow and asked coldly.

The simple-minded Matthew shivered in fear and shook his head. "No, I'll go right away."

Instantly, Landon felt much luckier and more comfortable. Between running seven miles with a weight and moving out of Serenity Grove Manor, he'd choose the former.

Just as Matthew was about to leave, Alexander called out to him again, "Wait a minute."

Matthew was stunned. 'Is there more punishment?'

Alexander turned his gaze back to Landon, a smirk forming on his lips as he let out a cold laugh.

Landon felt a chill down his spine, the smile that had been forming on his lips instantly freezing. He had had a feeling Alexander wasn't done talking.

Then, Alexander lifted his chin towards Landon and said calmly, "Take him with you."

Landon was instantly horrified. "No, why, Matthew, why are you dragging me..."

He didn't even have time to finish his sentence before Matthew dragged him away.
