Chapter 287 News from Organization 103
Quentin stepped up and said, "Mr. Howard, Gideon's back."
Upon hearing about the guest, Victoria remarked, "You proceed. I shall wait here."
But Alexander replied, "No, you should meet him too. He's Gideon Howard, Lester's son."
Victoria thought, 'Isn't that Neil's brother? Is he here to get back at us for Neil?'
Since that incident, there had been no news about Neil.
Alexander, reading her mind, explained, "Gideon is Lester's legitimate son. He hasn't been home in ages."
Victoria's eyes shifted slightly. 'So that's the deal,' she thought.
"Who's older, you or him?" she asked casually.
"He's the same age as Landon," Alexander replied, leading her to the office.
Inside, Victoria saw a man on the sofa who looked a lot like Alexander. This was Gideon.
Gideon looked up and greeted them, "Mr. Howard, Mrs. Howard."
Surprised, Victoria asked, "How did you know I'm Alexander's wife?"
But what really shocked her was how much Gideon looked like Alexander. Even Landon, Alexander's biological brother, didn't resemble him this much.
Gideon pointed to Alexander's desk and explained, "I saw the photo on the desk. The only person who could get him to display a photo must be his wife."
Victoria introduced herself briefly.
Alexander led her to sit on the loveseat opposite Gideon, his eyes fixed on him as he asked, "Why'd you come back so suddenly?"
Few people knew that Gideon had been working for Alexander all along, mostly abroad. He was basically Alexander's most important and powerful assistant.
Gideon pressed his tongue against the corner of his mouth, not speaking immediately.
Victoria seized the moment before Alexander could speak and said, "I need to talk to Dylan about something. Why don't you two chat first?" She stood up right after speaking.
Gideon was surprised by Victoria's reaction. He didn't really know her well. When he learned that Alexander got married so quickly after meeting her, he was stunned and couldn't figure out why.
Victoria was undeniably beautiful, and they looked like a perfect couple.
Gideon never doubted Alexander's choice, because he knew that Alexander never made wrong decisions.
As Victoria stepped out and closed the door, she clearly heard Gideon speak. He said, "Do you remember the organization 103?"
Victoria paused for a moment but quickly closed the door to avoid being noticed.
Alexander frowned slightly. He had heard about this organization twice in one day, once from Grant, who had left angrily without saying anything, and now from Gideon.
He replied, "Yeah, but I've never had any dealings with them. What's up?"
Gideon knew he hadn't dealt with them. Although they weren't exactly good people, they didn't break the law.
The activities carried out by Organization 103 consistently skirted the boundaries of the law, and yet, despite this, they continued to thrive.
"A week ago, one of our teams transporting gold crossed the border of Aidamore. The entire team was killed, and the cargo was gone. All that was left at the scene was this," Gideon said, retrieving a coin-like object from his pocket, adorned with a poppy flower and a skull.
"Our people were all dead, even dismembered."
With that, Gideon paused.
Alexander, usually so calm, had a look of pure rage in his eyes.
Gideon might never be able to forget what he witnessed. Despite their frequent dealings with gangs, the cruelty he saw was indescribable.
Losing billions in gold was bad enough, but the cruelty was the real kicker.
Gideon had been digging for days but came up empty, except for figuring out what the symbol meant. Apparently, the 103 organization always left a mark at their crime scenes. They were reckless, probably because they had nothing to lose.
Five years ago, some mystery person almost wiped out the 103 organization. They vanished for five years, and everyone thought they were done for. But they were just biding their time, waiting to strike again.
Gideon shared what he found. "The 103 organization has a goal this time, but it's not us. They're after someone else, maybe the person who took them down years ago. But I couldn't find any solid info. Everything was wiped clean."
He added, "And another thing. In the past half month, a bunch of kids have gone missing from Aidamore."
Alexander raised an eyebrow, signaling him to go on.
Gideon frowned. "But weirdly, there's been no reaction, like nothing happened. This is tied to the 103 organization. Years ago, rumors said their base was destroyed because they did unethical experiments. The person who destroyed it was one of their victims. But that's just hearsay. No one knows the real story. I think this time, it's still connected to that incident."
Another mystery about the 103 organization was who their real leader was.
Alexander thought for a moment and said coldly, "Find out at all costs."
Gideon nodded, "Got it."
They never wanted to mess with the 103 organization, not because they were scared, but because they didn't want to deal with those kinds of people. But the 103 organization had crossed a line.
After a bit, Alexander asked, "You didn't come back just for this, did you?"
Alexander's sharp eyes seemed to see right through Gideon.
Gideon admitted, "There's one more thing." He paused, then sneered, "Lester begged me."
Alexander raised an eyebrow, a slight smile on his face. "You must have received something in return for agreeing to Lester's request and coming to me. What did he promise you?"
Gideon laughed softly, a hint of wickedness in his tone, "To publicly declare that Celine is his mistress and that their affair caused my mother's death."
Alexander fell silent. It was said that Gideon's mother died of illness, but the truth was Lester's cheating drove her to her death. Since then, Gideon and Lester had been enemies. It was all Lester's fault!
