Chapter 153 Alexander's Confusion

Craig eyed Victoria and figured she wasn't here to stir up trouble. The leader of the O Alliance wouldn't waste time on that.

If she was here personally, Loren must've really messed up.

He signaled to one of his guys. "Go get Loren."

"Got it," the subordinate replied.

Soon, Loren showed up.

"Craig, you called for me?" Loren asked, walking past Victoria and approaching Craig with a sycophantic smile.

Craig glanced at him but didn't answer. Instead, he nodded at Victoria. "He's here."

Loren was puzzled. What was going on?

He followed Craig's gaze to Victoria.

Who was this stunning woman?

He assumed Craig had found a new girl for auction and wanted him to set a price. "Mr. Rogers, where'd you find this beauty? We should set a high price for her."

Before Loren could finish, Craig kicked him hard in the thigh, making him scream in pain.

Craig glared at him. "Auction her? Are you out of your mind? I don't want to die!"

Loren was instantly scared. Was Victoria someone important?

Craig added, "She's here for you!"

Loren was stunned.

For him?

He stared at Victoria. He didn't know anyone this beautiful. What did she want with him?

Victoria looked at him and asked, "Two weeks ago, did you take a job from Rihegde of Stellaria to assassinate someone in Country M?"

Loren thought for a moment and nodded. "Yes, I led the team myself."

He even added a bit more.

Craig, lounging on the sofa, looked bored.

Suddenly, the room felt icy, clearly from Victoria.

"You shouldn't have taken that job. Now you'll pay for it!" Victoria said coldly.

Loren felt a crushing pressure, like someone was choking him.

Why was Victoria so terrifying?

Who was she?

As Loren's boss, Craig had to step in. "Hold on."

"What? You want to pay for him?" Victoria sneered.

Her arrogant tone made everyone gasp.

But given her status, she had the right.

Only Loren didn't know who she was yet.

Craig pressed his tongue against his cheek, his face darkening.

No one had ever talked to him like that, but he had to consider Victoria's status.

He then smirked. "Fine." He spread his hands, indicating she could do as she pleased.

Loren panicked. "Mr. Rogers, I'm your guy. You can't just leave me hanging. We were just doing business."

Underworld Specter had never had anyone come back to settle scores after a job.

"I'd love to help you," Craig said, looking helpless. "But I don't want to cross her, so you're on your own." He lazily pointed at Victoria.

Craig never went out of his way to protect his subordinates.

Plus, the fact that Victoria came to him first and then found Loren through him showed she didn't want to make a big scene. And neither did he.

With the O Alliance's power, they didn't need Craig to handle this. It was unnecessary.

"Getting the attention of the O Alliance leader is a kind of luck," Craig said, watching the scene unfold, not acting like a boss at all.

Loren's legs went weak. "O Alliance?" he stammered.

He thought it was just a regular job. How did it involve the O Alliance?

He had checked; Alexander had no ties to the O Alliance.

Two gunshots echoed in the room.

Before anyone could react, Victoria had already shot Loren twice, hitting his left and right shoulder blades.

Loren collapsed, still processing that Victoria was from the O Alliance.

Craig was a bit surprised. She actually showed mercy? That wasn't typical of the O Alliance.

But he admired her marksmanship—quick, accurate, and ruthless!

No wonder she was known as the sharpshooter Carol.

He saw Victoria putting away her gun and asked, "Is that enough?"

"An eye for an eye, it's enough," Victoria replied.

Craig then coldly ordered, "Take him away!"

"Okay," his subordinates, like emotionless robots, complied.

Craig grinned at Victoria. "Shall we have a talk?"

It was Craig's first time seeing Carol in person. Everyone knew she was a woman, but no one had seen her face. That's why he didn't believe it at first.

However, the golden gun she carried was her symbol and the best proof.

"No, I'm afraid you won't have much time to chat. I'd better leave now," Victoria said coldly.

She gave him a meaningful look. Craig squinted, not immediately understanding her words.

It wasn't until ten minutes after she left that he was furious, his face dark, veins bulging on his forehead like a beast about to rage.

"Are you sure she said that?" Craig gritted his teeth and asked again.

The man with a buzz cut, who had escorted Victoria out, was kneeling on the ground, trembling, and nodded. "I'm sure. She said the six billion dollars was for medical expenses. She also thanked you for the compensation."

Thanked him for the compensation?

Was this compensation?

This was blatant robbery!

Who compensated with six billion dollars? That was six billion dollars!

Craig never expected that the six billion dollars would be taken by her.

The enemy was right in front of him, and he didn't know it!

Not only did he lose Loren, but he also lost six billion dollars. How could she do this?

"Find her! Get her here!" He ruffled his hair in frustration and roared angrily. He wasn't planning to let her go!

Meanwhile, at Vertex Holdings Group in Rihegde, the finance director stared at the sudden six billion dollars deposited into the group's account within half an hour, dumbfounded.

Although this amount was small for Vertex Holdings Group, where did the money come from?

He checked and found it wasn't from the company's usual revenue channels but a private transfer.

He didn't dare delay and reported it immediately.

In the CEO's Office, Dylan and others were puzzled. Who was wealthy enough to transfer six billion dollars to their company account?

Could it be a mistake?

Someone with billions in assets shouldn't make such a basic error.

They weren't the only ones confused; even Alexander was scratching his head.
