Chapter 95 Oliver's Request

Victoria lounged on the sofa, her long legs in black wide-leg pants crossed, exuding a mix of arrogance and laziness.

She was stunning, with a flawless face that masked a chilling arrogance. Her intense presence made people wary of crossing her. She had a knack for making them both fear and despise her.

Moments like this made Oliver and Simon think of Esme, who had a similar oppressive aura.

Seeing the silence, Victoria shot them a cold glance and broke it herself, "Alright, what do you want?"

Usually, Oliver and Simon would start by scolding her, but this time they didn't. It was odd.

She narrowed her almond eyes, instantly on guard. This wasn't a good sign.

"A lot has happened lately. Clara admitted it was her fault for taking your music sheet to the competition without telling you. She knew she was wrong. Since we're family, you should forgive her," Oliver said.

Oliver, surprisingly, wasn't his usual stern self; his tone was almost kind. This only made Victoria more suspicious. She couldn't believe they suddenly wanted to make amends.

She stayed silent, waiting for him to continue.

He went on, "Even though you hid being Amy from us, the Kennedy family is still proud of you."

Victoria listened, emotionless. They could never be proud of her.

"Since you're a composer for the Piano Association, why not recommend Clara to join? It would bring more honor to the Kennedy family," Oliver added.

Hearing his shameless request, Victoria knew they were up to something. They wanted her help.

She didn't see why she, as a Kennedy, always had to give.

She wasn't stupid; why would she agree?

"Do you think I run the association? You sure if I recommend her, she'll get in? If she's got the talent, she can get in on her own!" She shot back without hesitation.

Elodie couldn't hold back and snapped, "The Kennedy family raised you, and you won't even make a recommendation? You're ungrateful."

She was met with three sharp glares.

"Shut up!" Oliver yelled at her.

They had agreed to be nice to Victoria this time, but Elodie blew it. She was foolish.

Victoria was surprised Oliver would yell at Elodie.

How interesting.

Were they putting on a show for her?

Meanwhile, Clara stood silently, her mind in turmoil. She didn't understand why Lucas would secretly meet with Victoria.

Oliver turned to Victoria, still playing the kind elder. "If you recommend her, it'll be easier. She's your sister. Helping her helps the Kennedy family, and in turn, helps you. If the Kennedy family's position in Rihegde is solid, you'll have something to rely on, right?"

Victoria let his words go in one ear and out the other.

Did he really think she didn't get it?

Seeing her slightly lower her head without speaking, Simon chimed in, "Your grandfather's right. It's tough for you to manage your mother's company alone. Besides the Kennedy family, who else can you rely on? If something happens, who will clean up the mess? It would still be the Kennedy family. Family's gotta stick together."

Oliver and Simon kept trying to persuade her.
