Chapter 212 Victoria and Sarah Plan a Meal

After chillin' for a couple days, the crew got back to the grind.

Donna's scenes needed a redo, but no one griped, and everyone was all in.

Sarah's acting chops were off the charts. Since she joined, she had been killin' it, nailing every scene in one go. She was gorgeous, sweet, and never lost her cool.

Her character was a chatty sidekick with a ton of lines, but she never messed up, showing off her killer line delivery.

Everyone was secretly like, "Damn, she's awesome."

Orlando was floored when he saw Sarah in costume; he thought she was perfect for the role.

After wrapping up her stuff, Victoria swung by the set to see her.

She even blew off Alexander's dinner invite just to hang with her.

Sarah had just finished the first half of filming and hadn’t changed out of her costume yet.

Victoria checked her out in costume and couldn’t help but think Sarah rocked the look even better than Donna.

Earlier, Orlando had asked Victoria, "Got any actress recommendations?"

Victoria immediately threw Sarah’s name in the hat, marking her first time in this kind of drama.

As soon as Sarah spotted Victoria, she grabbed her bulky skirt and bounced over, giving her a big hug.

The crew nearby blinked in surprise; they’d just been praising her elegance, and now she was all carefree.

"Hey, babe, you’re here," Sarah called out sweetly.

Everyone watching instantly got that Sarah was Victoria’s friend.

Both women were drop-dead gorgeous, each with their own vibe—one had that cool, professional beauty, while the other was all playful and charming.

Victoria patted her back. "Let’s grab some grub."

Sarah replied, "Cool, lemme go change real quick."

Victoria said, "Alright."

In the car, it was just the two of them; Sarah ditched her assistant 'cause she wanted some one-on-one time with Victoria.

"Settling in okay these past few days?" Victoria asked, eyes on the road.

After replying to Natalie’s text, Sarah looked up and smiled, "Yeah, as long as I’m in a city with you, I’m good anywhere."

Victoria grinned. "How about I find you a place near the set? Hotel life kinda sucks."

Plus, Ridgefield was getting chilly.

Even though the snow had stopped, the cold was setting in.

Victoria worried that hotel living would be a hassle for Sarah.

Sarah said, "Nah, the hotel’s fine. I’m used to it."

Hearing her firm answer, Victoria didn’t push it.

If she could, Victoria would’ve loved to bring Sarah back to Serenity Grove Manor. That’d make her feel better.

"Did you bring enough meds this time?" she asked again.

Sarah replied, "Don’t worry, I’m set. Seraphim packed my bags with enough for three months."

That put Victoria at ease.

Knowing Sarah was into Italian food, she took her to the best Italian joint in Ridgefield.

"Hey there, how many in your party?" the waiter asked with a pro smile.

"Two. I booked a private room upstairs," Victoria replied.

Since Sarah was with her, she wanted to dodge any unnecessary drama.

The waiter said, "Cool, follow me."

Sarah kept her mask and shades on the whole time, head down a bit, holding onto Victoria’s arm.

"Isn't that Victoria?" Caleb was chillin' in a private room on the third floor, eyeing the two tall, slender figures on the second floor. One of 'em looked super familiar.

Alexander, sitting across from him, followed his gaze.

Yep, it was her.

He remembered an hour ago when Victoria had told him over the phone, "I have a meeting later, so I can't join you for lunch. You'll have to manage on your own."

Alexander squinted at the familiar figure.

So, this was her so-called meeting? A meeting at a restaurant? Liar.

She even hid the fact that she was having lunch with a woman.

Caleb and Garrett, sitting across from him, could sense something was off with Alexander's mood.

It suddenly hit them that Alexander had spontaneously invited them to lunch today.

"Alexander, did Victoria ditch you, so you asked us to lunch?" Caleb raised an eyebrow and asked.

Since getting hitched, Alexander had never actively invited them to lunch.

Alexander withdrew his gaze and gave Caleb a cold look with his deep eyes.

He didn't need to say anything; his eyes said it all.

"Maybe you've been clinging to Victoria too much lately, and she needed a break to hang out with friends," Garrett added.

Caleb continued, "Alexander, you can't be too clingy. Even though you're married, and you're used to being alone, Victoria has her own social circle. You can't expect her to spend all day and night with you."

"Be careful that Victoria might start ignoring you," Garrett chimed in.

Alexander's temples throbbed, and he gave them a cold look, saying, "Neither of you has a girlfriend or a wife, so do you really think you have the right to comment on my relationship? Seriously?"

Garrett and Caleb were stunned. They both clicked their tongues.

It wasn't a major blow, but it was highly insulting.

Alexander's words were really harsh.

After all, they were friends.

In the following days, Alexander only saw her in the mornings and evenings.

He had tolerated her not accompanying him for lunch for several days.

But then she stopped coming home for dinner too.

At Serenity Grove Manor, the dining table was filled with a chilling atmosphere.

Landon felt a menacing aura as he ate, causing him to chew more slowly and stay alert, fearing that Alexander might throw his utensils at him.

This low-pressure atmosphere had persisted for days.

Since Victoria stopped coming home for dinner four days ago, the atmosphere while eating dinner had become eerily tense.

Alexander slammed his utensils onto the table.

This was followed by the screeching sound of a chair scraping against the floor.

Landon's shoulders tensed as he watched Alexander's departing figure, feeling the intimidating aura.

Victoria returned to Serenity Grove Manor at 10 PM.

Not seeing Alexander's familiar figure waiting in the living room, she went upstairs.

When she opened the door, the room was pitch black, with only a faint light coming in from outside.

She wondered if Alexander hadn't come back yet.

Suddenly, Alexander's familiar voice came from the dark room. "You still know the way back home?"

As she turned on the light, she saw him half-lying on the bed in his pajamas.

"Why didn't you turn on the light?" she asked.

As soon as she asked, she sensed something was off in the room.

Squinting slightly, she saw Alexander's handsome face looking gloomy. What was going on?

She walked over, pinched his cheek, and asked, "What's wrong with you?"

Her hand was soft but cold.

For a moment, he wanted to wrap her hand in his to warm it up, but he held back.
