Chapter 233 Dinner

Twenty minutes later, dinner was ready.

Landon went to grab his own utensils by himself.

Alexander just gave him a cold glance. Landon knew right then he was about to score a meal cooked by Alexander himself.

Landon had never been this quiet while eating in his life.

He was both touched and nervous. Finally, he got to taste a dish whipped up by Alexander, which he could brag about forever as Alexander's cooking was on par with Molly's.

Everyone knew Alexander could cook, but no one, not even Preston, Saskia, or Nathan, had ever tasted his food.

After dinner, Landon dutifully put his utensils back in the kitchen.

Victoria noticed his odd behavior and was puzzled.

She asked, "What's up with you? What’s gotten into you?"

Before Landon could answer, the imposing Alexander said, "Ignore him. He has a few off days every month."

Victoria was silent. Landon, however, laughed and agreed, "Victoria, I'm fine. Alexander's right."

Victoria frowned slightly.

Landon must have been really affected. Alexander was clearly dissing him, and he just took it.

What she didn't know was that Landon was willing to endure anything for another chance to try Alexander's cooking. No matter what Alexander said about him, he had to suck it up for the food.

Even if she knew, she wouldn't get Landon's weird logic.

After dinner, she was bored and checked her New Feed.

She saw that Landon had updated his New Feed half an hour ago: [Even if I can't be the first to eat Alexander's cooking, being the second is still pretty awesome.]

Along with a mouth-watering pic of the food they had tonight, which looked very familiar.

Victoria raised an eyebrow. 'When did Landon snap that pic?'

Scrolling down, she saw their mutual friends had liked and commented on it.

Caleb: [Look at you being all smug. Next time Alexander cooks, remember to invite me.]

Garrett: [And me.]

Owen: [Don't forget about me.]

Saskia: [No way. I've lived so long and never had the chance to try Alexander's cooking, and here you are bragging. Wanna get beaten up?]

Preston: [Saskia is right.]

Victoria suddenly got why Landon was acting so weird tonight. So Alexander had only cooked for her before. She felt a surge of joy flooding in.

She kindly gave it a like. After thinking for a moment, she also liked Saskia's comment and replied: [Mom, if you want to eat, I'll ask him to cook for you next time.]

In less than a minute, Victoria's New Feed blew up with replies.

One was from Saskia: [How kind of you!]

The others were comments from Alexander: [Landon, move out tomorrow!]

Alexander: [Sorry, I want to cook for my wife and only her.]

Everyone's jaws dropped. Landon wanted to cry.

Alexander pushed the door open and walked into the room. Victoria, chilling on the sofa, looked up and met his gaze. Her bright, captivating eyes blinked as she said, "Your words will only hurt Mom's feelings."

Alexander walked over, sat down, and easily pulled Victoria onto his lap, reaching out to stroke her smooth hair.

"Mom won't mind these things," Alexander said casually. "Besides, she has a husband. Her husband will take care of her. I just need to make sure they live a worry-free life and enjoy their retirement."

She pouted, thinking it made sense.

Suddenly, Alexander grabbed her chin and turned her to face him. He had a slight smile on his lips, and his eyes were filled with a seductive and teasing look.

He then leaned in and gave her a light kiss on the lips.

Victoria's eyelashes fluttered twice as she looked at him in confusion. 'Is that all?'
