The next morning, Victoria woke up to her phone ringing.
She groggily answered.
Lila's urgent voice came through. "Honey, something's wrong. Check the news now."
Victoria put the call on speaker and opened the news notification.

As Victoria read, Lila continued angrily. "They're so shameless, cutting ties with you for no reason. This must be Clara's doing. Your grandfather and father are so foolish."
Lila kept talking, but Victoria was focused on the article.
She hadn't expected the Kennedy family to distance themselves so quickly. She thought it would take days.
Lila sensed something was off. Victoria was too calm. Was she heartbroken?
"Honey, are you okay? Don't be sad. Even if they cut ties with you, you still have me and Alexander. He dotes on you and will definitely help you teach the Kennedy family a lesson," she said, trying to comfort Victoria.
"I'm fine. Don't worry. I saw this coming," Victoria replied, her voice still hoarse from just waking up.
Lila was puzzled. "What do you mean?"
Victoria explained, "Yesterday, we injured Anthony from the Barnes family. The head of the Barnes family is a close friend of my mother, so I asked him for a favor to stir things up with the Kennedy family."
Lila had heard about the fight from Marlowe but didn't know about Adrian.
"So, honey, you planned to use the Barnes family to pressure the Kennedy family into severing ties with you?" Lila was still a bit confused. "But why?"
"That way,my next moves will make sense to everyone," Victoria answered.
