Chapter 329 Blood Type Mismatch

Outside the operating room.

"Dylan, get Simon here, now!" Alexander exuded a terrifying chill; his deep eyes were cold and filled with unpredictable danger.

Dylan nodded. "On it, boss." In less than half an hour, Simon was dragged from his office straight to the hospital.

Simon was in the middle of a meeting when a bunch of guys in black suits stormed in, grabbed him without a word, and hauled him out of the Kennedy Group. When Simon tried to ask who they were, he got no answers.

Simon was totally confused until he saw Alexander. His eyes widened a bit. "Mr. Howard, you wanted to see me?"

Alexander didn't waste time. "Take him for a blood draw!"

Dylan replied, "Yes, boss."

Simon was even more puzzled. "Wait, Mr. Howard, why are you taking my blood?" But no one answered him.

A little while later, Dylan came back looking worried. "Boss, Simon's blood type doesn't match Mrs. Howard's. We can't use it."

Alexander's face got even darker. Just then, the operating room door opened, and a nurse stepped out. "Sir, the director wanted me to tell you the patient's blood pressure is stable now."

Before Alexander and Dylan could react, she quickly shut the door again. Alexander's intense vibe was too much; she was scared. Their director was way nicer.

Dylan asked, "Boss, what now?" He thought, 'They just said there wasn't enough blood; how is it enough now?'

Alexander just frowned and stayed quiet, trusting Owen. He had one thing on his mind. "You said Simon's blood type doesn't match Victoria's. What's up with that?"

Dylan replied, "Simon's blood type is A."

Alexander's frown deepened. "Bring him over!"

"Yes, sir."

A minute later, Simon stood in front of the intimidating Alexander, whose cold eyes, furrowed brows, and sharp features made him look icy and scary.

"How can someone with type A blood and someone with type AB blood have a kid with a rare blood type?" Alexander's eyes flashed coldly. "Tell me, what's going on?"

Dylan, along with Caleb and Garrett, who had just come back, were shocked by this news. Simon shrank back in fear; Alexander's presence was suffocating. After a while, Simon still didn't say anything.

Alexander was very patient in waiting, not expecting that he would discover this. He had seen Esme's records; her blood type was AB, and Victoria's was RH-negative, a rare blood type. This meant that one of the parents needed to have the rare RH-negative blood type for their child to have the rare blood type. But if Simon's blood type was A, it would be impossible to have a kid with rare blood like Victoria.

Caleb suddenly got it, exclaiming, "You're not Victoria's real dad?"

Simon's face went through a range of colors, from red to white, then darkened with anger. Simon didn't deny it, staying silent.

Sometimes silence said it all. Caleb added, "No wonder you treated Victoria like that."

The way the Kennedy family treated Victoria was awful. Two daughters, treated so differently, there had to be a big reason behind it.

Alexander didn't say much, just glanced at Dylan. Dylan got the message and had Simon taken away.

As soon as Simon was taken away, Caleb stepped forward. He was about to ask something when Garrett stopped him. Caleb then remembered that Victoria was still in the operating room.

Before long, Grant arrived, as did Lila. When Grant saw her, his eyes instinctively glanced behind her, but he didn't see the familiar face.

Preston and Landon, after sticking with Saskia through a bunch of tests, refused to go back to the ward and tagged along. Saskia asked, "Alexander, how's Victoria doing?"

Alexander looked at Saskia, who was sitting in a wheelchair in a hospital gown, and his cold eyes finally softened a bit. "The nurse just came out and said her blood pressure is stable."

Alexander frowned slightly and said, "Mom, I'm sorry."

Saskia was a bit taken aback. Alexander never said those words easily because he always did things perfectly, never making mistakes, so he never needed to apologize.

It was often said that a mother and her child shared a special bond. Saskia knew what Alexander was trying to say.

"Silly child, I'm fine." Saskia looked up at the tightly closed door of the operating room, her eyes red. "When we jumped together, Victoria told me she would bring me back safely, and she did."

Saskia had only a mild concussion and some fluid in her lungs, which could be treated with proper care. If she could, Saskia would rather be the one in the operating room.

Three hours later, Victoria was wheeled back to the ward from the operating room. Owen said, "Victoria not only has a leg wound but also a burn on her back, probably from the explosion." When they first found Victoria, they didn't notice her back.

He added, "Victoria's leg wound got infected from being in the water, and her back burn also got infected, so she might have a high fever tonight."

Alexander glanced at Owen, and he immediately understood, too familiar with that look. "Don't give me that skeptical look!" Owen said, "Don't forget, I saved Victoria's life. The fever is due to her body's condition; she will definitely experience it tonight, but it should be fine after tonight."

"Should?" Alexander's brows furrowed, his voice cold. He wanted certainty, not a possibility.

Owen said, "Victoria will be fine." Then Owen muttered, "She was seriously injured before falling into the water, endured two impacts, and still managed to pull Saskia to the shore in such turbulent water. If that's not luck, what is?"

"How did she get the leg wound?" Alexander asked.

"It was a cut from metal debris, probably when they jumped, and the car exploded, and the flying debris cut her." Owen said, but he was puzzled, "But Saskia was with Victoria, and Saskia didn't have a scratch, while Victoria was covered in small wounds and had a burn on her back. It can only mean one thing."

Owen stopped there, believing Alexander understood. What Owen could think of, Alexander could naturally think of as well.

Loving someone and extending that love to their family showed how important that person was in Victoria's heart. Victoria loved Alexander, so she was willing to do everything to protect Alexander's family.

"Victoria is fine, but still unconscious." Nicholas stood by the wheelchair, looking at the person in the wheelchair. "There was one more thing: Alexander asked Simon for a blood transfusion and discovered that he isn't Victoria's father."

The person in the wheelchair raised a hand to signal Nicholas to stop. Instead, she asked, "Has Saskia woken up?"
