Chapter 31 Lila and Alexander Meet

The loud noise made Victoria frown.

She knew how Lila would react, so she didn't mention it in the car.

After Lila's outburst, she sat on the sofa, looking confused.

She clutched her chest and muttered, "Give me a moment."

Victoria was speechless.

"I was gone for a month, and you got married?" Lila asked, clutching her chest and staring at Victoria.

Before Victoria could respond, Lila added, "And you married a top-tier heir of a wealthy family!"

Victoria stayed silent, letting her process it.

"Do you know who your husband is?" Lila asked, wide-eyed.

"I didn't know when we got married, but I found out later," Victoria replied.

Lila clutched her chest again, took a deep breath, and said, "He's one of the world's wealthiest, most powerful, and most influential. He's the mysterious head of the Howard family in Rihegde, never seen in public. Rumored to dislike women, ruthless, and has a terrifying face. I've been in the Scott family for ages and never saw him. How did you end up with him?"

Victoria frowned slightly. 'Terrifying face?'

"Rumors aren't reliable," Victoria said simply.

Lila looked puzzled.

Then she realized Victoria was defending her husband.

"What does he look like?" Lila asked.

"You really haven't seen him?" Victoria asked.

Lila shook her head, "Not even me. My grandfather Scott has to make an appointment to meet him. Almost no one in Ridgewood has seen your husband; he's like a myth."

Victoria was silent.

No wonder when she went out with him, people only noticed his handsome face, not his identity.

Victoria said quietly, "You'll see him later."

Lila was silent.

"I can't describe him. You'll know when you see him," Victoria explained.

"No photos?" Lila asked.

"Never taken any," Victoria replied.

"Alright then."

Lila asked another question, "You said your grandmother Davis introduced you to him. How does she know the Howard family?"

Lila hit the nail on the head. Victoria thought for a few seconds, shook her head, and said, "I never asked my grandmother Davis."

The more Lila thought about it, the more incredible it seemed.

But she had no clues.

At six in the evening, Alexander's car arrived on time at Elmrest Apartments.

Lila pretended to be seeing Victoria off but was actually going down to see Alexander.

Alexander got out of the car early and waited by the door.

When Victoria arrived, Alexander immediately noticed her, his eyes only on her.

Lila, following Victoria, was stunned when she saw Alexander. She finally understood why Victoria couldn't describe him.

He was too good-looking. Words couldn't do him justice.

Who said Alexander had a terrifying face?

Lila was a bit dazed, staring at Alexander's handsome face.

Victoria noticed and felt a bit embarrassed. She said to Alexander, "Sorry, my friend is just surprised to see you for the first time. Don't mind her."

Alexander didn't mind. He looked at Victoria with tenderness and smiled, "It's okay."

Seeing Alexander's smile, Lila became even more infatuated.

She started muttering to herself, "Who said Alexander was cold?

"Isn't he very gentle? And his smile is so good-looking.

"And his voice is magnetic and pleasant to listen to.'

"Alexander, hello, I'm Lila Scott, Victoria's best friend. Please take care of her," Lila introduced herself with a smile.

Alexander looked at her politely and said, "Hello, Ms. Scott."

"Just take good care of Victoria," Lila said, now speaking without being overly politer.

"Victoria's first relationship led straight to marriage. If you want to know more about her, feel free to contact me. I know her very well."

Lila wasn't completely unaware of Alexander's status and identity; but she only knew that at this moment, Alexander was her good friend's husband.

"First relationship?" Alexander said, intrigued.

Lila eagerly replied, "Yes, although Victoria had an engagement with Lucas, that douchebag, they never officially dated, so you are..."

Before Lila could finish, a hand covered her mouth.

Victoria, who had been listening nervously, covered Lila's mouth and smiled awkwardly at Alexander, "Give me a sec."

Alexander smiled and nodded.

Victoria pulled Lila aside, who couldn't say a complete sentence with her mouth covered.

"If I let go, will you speak properly?" Victoria whispered a warning in her ear.

Lila could only nod.

As soon as Victoria let go, Lila took a few deep breaths and said, "Dear, are you trying to kill me?"

Victoria glanced at her with resignation, blaming Lila for speaking out of turn.
