Chapter 527 I'm Going to Be a Dad

Alexander couldn't help but envy Grant's experience as a father to a daughter.

Recently, he and Victoria hadn't been actively preventing pregnancy. By all logic, there should have been some signs by now.

Owen joined Alexander, Garrett, and Caleb as they watched the women fussing over baby Mina.

"So Owen, when are you planning on having kids?" Caleb asked, shifting his interrogation to a new target.

Owen glanced at him briefly before responding with calm assurance, "My daughter will arrive long before you find a wife."

Caleb fell silent, rolling his eyes. Everyone seemed determined to attack his single status.

"A daughter? I bet you're destined for sons," Caleb retorted.

Owen remained unfazed. "Don't worry, I'll let my son marry your daughter."

Caleb had no response.

Alexander paid little attention to their childish banter, his gaze fixed on Victoria across the room.

"Owen, schedule a medical checkup for Victoria tomorrow," Alexander said suddenly.

"Is something wrong with her?" Owen asked.

Alexander continued watching his wife. "She's been unusually tired lately. I'm concerned about her health."

"Tired how exactly?" Owen pressed.

"She's constantly falling asleep, sleeping longer hours," Alexander explained. "And her taste has changed—she craves spicy and sour foods now."

"Any vomiting?" Owen asked, suddenly alert.

"No."

Owen studied his friend with disbelief. "You're usually quite sharp. How are you missing this?"

Alexander turned to him, brow furrowed. "Explain."

"Victoria might be pregnant," Owen stated plainly.

Alexander's frown deepened. "What did you say?"

"I said Victoria might be pregnant," Owen repeated patiently. "The excessive sleeping and cravings are early pregnancy symptoms, though it could be something else."

Alexander froze for several seconds before abruptly standing and striding across the room.

Victoria was chatting animatedly with Lila when a shadow fell over her. Before she could look up, a warm hand gripped her wrist and pulled her into Alexander's embrace, his arms firmly around her waist.

Victoria remained silent, embarrassed by the public display.

"What's wrong?" she whispered against his shoulder, feeling the tension in his body.

"We're going to the hospital now," he announced.

Victoria's heart jumped with worry, but she didn't question him. She quickly said goodbye to the Scotts and followed him out.

In the car, he held her hand tightly without explanation, and she didn't dare ask.

When they arrived at the hospital and she saw the sign for the Obstetrics Department, she stopped in confusion.

"Why are we here? Is someone having a baby?" she asked.

Only when she was led inside for examination did she understand.

After the tests, they sat before the doctor who smiled and said, "Congratulations, Mrs. Howard. You're four weeks pregnant."

Victoria was stunned. There had been no warning signs.

After receiving instructions about prenatal care and future checkups, they left.

In the car, Victoria stared at her flat stomach in silence, trying to comprehend that a new life was growing inside her. The feeling was surreal—she could finally understand Marlowe's emotions during her pregnancy. Even when she expected something, the reality still caught her by surprise.

Beside her, Alexander was already sharing a photo of the pregnancy test results in several group chats without comment.

The groups exploded with responses. Caleb and the others weren't surprised—this was exactly Alexander's style. Decisive and efficient—results in under thirty minutes.

Victoria's phone rang, interrupting her thoughts. It was Saskia.

Not knowing Alexander had already informed the family, she answered normally.

"Mom? What? Yes, Alexander and I just left the hospital," Victoria said, glancing at her husband. "Return now? Alright, I'll tell him."

After hanging up, she turned to Alexander. "Mom wants us to come to Howard Villa."

"No," Alexander replied firmly. "You need rest, not a long journey. Howard Villa is too far."

"But..."

"Don't worry. If we don't go to them, Grandfather will bring everyone to us. They'll probably arrive any minute."

Alexander was right. Nathan couldn't wait a moment longer.

Minutes after Saskia called Victoria, Nathan announced, "We should go to Serenity Grove Manor instead."

"Dad, they're probably on their way here. What if we miss them?" Preston argued.

Nathan dismissed his concern. "You don't understand your son. Howard Villa is far with too many winding roads. He won't want to tire his wife."

Preston and Saskia had no response.

Landon had just arrived home when he was pulled along without explanation. Confused by the family's urgent departure, he asked what was happening.

Nathan glared at him. "Have you muted the family chat? How could you miss such important news?"

Puzzled, Landon checked his phone.

"Victoria's pregnant?" After a moment of shock, he broke into laughter.

"Grandfather, does this mean I'm off the hook for blind dates?" he asked gleefully.

Nathan gave him a withering look. "No way!"

Landon didn't care about Nathan's disapproval. As long as he escaped the arranged dates, he was happy. Victoria was his savior, and this baby had perfect timing. He silently vowed to be the best uncle to his future niece or nephew.

When Alexander and Victoria arrived home, Nathan appeared with the entire family minutes later, including Victoria's mother.

Victoria was momentarily stunned by their speed.

The family surrounded her with questions and immediately began planning her entire pregnancy—nutritional meals, precautions, checkup schedules, and baby essentials. Everything was arranged with meticulous detail.

All she needed to do was rest well.

In the following days, her diet consisted of carefully prepared nutritional meals—balanced but bland, despite daily variety.

After two weeks, Victoria couldn't take it anymore. Though she rarely craved snacks before, now she desperately wanted them.

One weekend, seizing an opportunity when Alexander returned to the office for an emergency, she arranged to meet Lila.

As she prepared to leave, Sawyer inquired, "Mrs. Howard, when will you return for lunch? I'll have the kitchen prepare accordingly."

Victoria replied while putting on her shoes, "No need, Sawyer. Alexander and I will be dining at Howard Villa today."

Sawyer accepted this without question. "Alright, ma'am."
