Chapter 338 Victoria Had a Second Personality

Victoria glanced at Nancy, who had just walked in, and asked, ''What brings you here?''

"She doesn't know I'm hurt, does she?" Victoria suddenly stared at Nancy with a bit of fear and asked. She straightened up a bit and peeked behind her to see if anyone else was there, accidentally tugging at the wound on her back.

Alexander, sitting next to the hospital bed, was about to peel an apple for Victoria. He looked up and saw a flash of fear in her eyes.

"Careful, you've got a wound on your back." Alexander immediately stood up, gently pressing her shoulder to lay her back down.

Nancy knew exactly what Victoria was worried about. "Victoria, don't worry. Sarah doesn't know. I told her I had some personal business to attend to," Nancy said. "Virgil is back. With him around, Sarah will be fine."

Despite Victoria's usual cool and fearless demeanor, she was terrified of Sarah getting angry. Sarah rarely got angry; she was usually gentle and easygoing. But if Victoria got hurt, she would become furious. Hearing this, Victoria finally breathed a sigh of relief.

It was the first time Alexander had seen Victoria so scared. She wasn't even afraid of him, but she was afraid of another woman? Alexander squinted slightly, said nothing, and told her to sit still.

He then sat down, picked up the apple and knife, spread his long legs slightly, placed a trash can between them, and began peeling the apple.

As Nancy walked over, she was stunned by the scene. She knew Alexander's identity. Only Victoria could make a business tycoon peel an apple. And judging by his posture and technique, he seemed quite skilled, indicating this wasn't his first time.

Victoria was already used to this scene. Ever since they started living together, Victoria hadn't done much for herself. She always felt like she was being waited on hand and foot. Now that she was injured, it was even more so.

"So, why did you come to see me?" Victoria asked Nancy.

Nancy raised the box she was holding. "Marlowe asked me to bring this to you."

"What is it? Smells so good." Victoria reached out to take it, but before she could lift her hand, Alexander spoke up, "Put your hand down; don't move."

Victoria's hand froze in mid-air. Alexander glanced at Nancy. "Put it on the table."

Intimidated by his authoritative gaze, Nancy quickly placed the box on the small table to the right.

"Little cakes?" Victoria smelled the rich scent of baked milk.

Nancy said, "Seems like it. Marlowe said she made them this afternoon."

Victoria smacked her lips, her tongue sliding over her lips. She turned to the man peeling the apple beside her. "Honey, I want to eat."

Alexander didn't look up this time, but he could imagine her eager expression. It hadn't even been a day, and she was already craving sweets. How had he not noticed this habit before?

Nancy knew that Victoria loved sweets. Previously, Victoria would eat whatever she wanted without asking anyone. Was this pitiful, aggrieved look really the leader of the O Alliance? Did she develop a second personality after jumping into the river?

"Alexander, just one bite, please?" Victoria pouted, blinking her eyes pitifully, using a tone that was way too sweet.

Nancy was dumbfounded. She thought, 'Did Victoria really develop a second personality? How could she be acting so coquettishly? This didn't match her cold, cool, and fierce persona at all! Did I walk into the wrong hospital room?'

Nancy's eyes darted back and forth over Victoria. This was definitely their O Alliance leader. Nancy thought, 'Should I tell the others that Victoria had developed a second personality?' She was so overwhelmed by her internal drama that she couldn't articulate the scene in front of her.

"Just one bite." Alexander finally looked up at Victoria, the apple peel in his hand now complete.

Victoria beamed and nodded at him, then turned to the now-stunned and ignored Nancy. "Nancy, get me a little cake."

Nancy, still in a daze, didn't respond. Victoria called out again, "What are you daydreaming about?"

"Victoria, did you develop a second personality?" Nancy asked, swallowing hard. "Should we see Seraphim?"

Victoria's face darkened. So Nancy had been daydreaming, thinking that she was sick!

Well, Victoria usually had a cold and lazy demeanor. Ever since meeting Alexander, she had indeed been different. No wonder Nancy was so shocked, thinking she had a mental illness.

"Do I look like I have a mental illness?" Victoria's eyes narrowed, the earlier softness completely gone.

Nancy nodded, then shook her head when she met Victoria's cold gaze. "No!" Had Victoria mastered the art of switching personas? It had only been a few seconds.

"Then why aren't you giving me the cake?" Victoria squinted her eyes, speaking irritably. Nancy snapped out of it and quickly went to get the cake.

While Alexander went to the bathroom to wash his hands, Victoria sneaked a few more bites, almost finishing one. Marlowe's cakes were small anyway. Then Alexander's deep, rich voice reached her ears suddenly, making her tremble.

"If I say it wasn't me, would you believe me?" Victoria turned to look at Alexander.

Nancy thought, 'Is Victoria going to blame it on me?'

Alexander met her starry eyes, his gaze slightly raised, clearly indicating he didn't believe her. He had gone to the bathroom knowing she would sneak some bites behind his back.

"Who said they would behave?" Alexander's drawling tone was really pleasant to hear. Every time Victoria heard him speak, her ears would tingle.

Victoria's eyes darted around. "Oh, really? Did someone say that?" She turned to Nancy. "Did you hear anything?"

Nancy was confused. Alexander looked at Victoria's playful demeanor, both helpless and amused.

At that moment, an unexpected guest arrived in the hospital room. The couple turned to the newcomer in unison, their identical expressions clearly conveying, "There's no one here you're looking for!"
