Chapter 107 Giving Ms. Taylor an Explanation

Molly slept soundly in Eric's arms, clutching his shirt, her long eyelashes fluttering like an angel.

Eric looked down, recalling that confusing yet innocent kiss, his mind in turmoil as he saw her flushed face.

But being experienced in love, he quickly steadied himself. When he looked at Debra again, his gaze was sharp. "Debra, if you leave now, you'll miss the interesting show."

"I need to go to the bathroom," Debra said, sweating and scared.

"You can go after you watch," Eric replied, holding Molly tighter and walking towards Evelyn and Edward with a calm face.

As he passed Debra, she was stunned to see the red marks on his neck.

Debra's spine stiffened, her mind racing. 'Eric wasn't drugged, so where did those kiss marks come from?'

Molly whimpered softly in his arms, as if having a nightmare.

'Could Molly have been the one who drank the drug? Did she and Eric do something? Damn it! Molly got lucky for nothing!'

"Molly!" Evelyn and Edward exclaimed together.

"What happened to Molly?!" Byron, who hadn't seen Molly all night, was extremely anxious seeing her in Eric's arms.

Patrick and Tiffany were also shocked, their hearts in their throats.

"Byron, Edward, don't worry, Molly is fine. I have a lot of experience with this kind of thing," Eric said, taking a deep breath.

"Experience?" Edward's brows furrowed deeply. "Eric, if your 'experience' was used on Molly, I won't let you off easily!"

"You're treating me like a pervert!" Eric coughed lightly, his eyes flickering.

Evelyn, being observant, noticed the red marks on his neck but said nothing.

"Eric! What's going on? Tell us quickly!" Patrick asked anxiously.

Eric took a deep breath and spoke coldly, "Molly was drugged. I found her in the bushes in the back garden. The drug had already taken effect, and the situation was critical. I gave her a lot of water to dilute it and fed her some medicine. She's stable now and will be fine after a good sleep."

Everyone was shocked! Tiffany and Nicole's faces turned dark.

Byron trembled, almost unable to stand. "What, Molly was drugged too?"

"Byron! Calm down! Tyler! Help Byron!" Patrick, worried about Byron's health, hurried forward to support him with Tyler.

"Byron!" Evelyn, concerned about Byron, also stepped forward.

Charlie pouted, feeling jealous seeing Evelyn care for someone else.

"Now, the situation is clear," Evelyn said, her sharp gaze shifting between Debra and Nicole. "At that time, the only ones at the table with Landon were Edward and Eric. The only one who got drugged at the table was Landon. But the other person got drugged was Molly, who hadn't appeared at the birthday party all night. It seems that the drink Molly consumed was supposed to be the same one Landon drank. But by some twist of fate, Molly drank it, leading to the current situation."

Edward and Eric looked at her simultaneously, their gazes full of admiration.

Evelyn's mind was sharp and clear, seeing the whole situation perfectly!

"So, who was the drink Molly consumed originally intended for? Edward? The Wellington family wouldn't be stupid enough to drug their own family member at their own party."

Evelyn's remark made everyone's gaze shift to Eric!

Eric's lips pressed tightly together, his eyes suddenly cold.

'I hate it when someone uses such underhanded tactics on me, and I can't believe someone dared to target me at Byron's birthday party! What a blow to my reputation!'

"First, detain the involved maid," Edward said, his eyes burning with anger. "Bring her here. Evelyn and I will interrogate her. Tonight, if we don't give Ms. Taylor an explanation, no one is leaving here!"

Evelyn's heart trembled, looking at Edward's resolute profile with disbelief.

At that moment, Edward also turned to her, their gazes collided, and both of their hearts stirred slightly.

"Edward! What do you mean by this? Are you planning to imprison us? Do you think we're suspects?!" Tiffany, afraid that things would be exposed, became furious and strongly opposed.

"Aunt Tiffany, 'suspects' is a bit harsh. I just need your help to root out the scum hiding in our home," Edward said, his dark eyes more intimidating than Patrick's. "If you have a clear conscience, you shouldn't object."

"Exactly!" Byron said angrily, gathering his spirits. "This disgraceful act can't be tolerated! We need to get to the bottom of this and give Lily and Landon an explanation!"

Debra's teeth chattered in fear, and Tiffany was left speechless.

"Edward!" Bart arrived with two bodyguards, escorting the maid. He flung his hand, and the maid's legs went weak, causing her to fall heavily in front of everyone. "Luckily, you gave the order in time. I retrieved the surveillance footage and sealed off the front and back doors. Sure enough, I found her sneaking around, trying to crawl out through the dog hole in the back garden! Caught her red-handed!"

Evelyn was shocked again. 'When did Edward realize something was wrong? His actions were too swift!'

"Isn't this an admission of guilt?" Eric glared at the maid, his gaze sharp. "What else is there to interrogate? No one crawls through a dog hole for no reason."

"We need to interrogate," Edward said coldly. "I want to catch the person who set the bait."

"Edward, I had an emergency at home, and the front and back doors were locked. I had no choice but to crawl out through the back garden. I didn't do anything!" the maid stammered.

"I remember, you were the one who brought us the drinks," Eric said.

"And you were the one who told me to go to the room to take care of Landon," Evelyn added coldly.

"Edward, I've checked the surveillance. From the kitchen to the banquet hall, no one else interacted with her, which means no one else touched the drinks at your table," Bart added, solidifying her suspicion.

"But that doesn't prove I drugged your drinks!" the maid, sweating profusely, struggled to defend herself.

"So strange," Evelyn said, tilting her head. "We didn't say anything about what happened. How do you know someone drugged their drinks?"

Everyone's gaze became complicated, the suspicious looks piercing the maid like arrows.

"I heard it when I came over," the maid's face turned red with embarrassment.

"Heard it? Do you have super hearing?" Bart was almost sickened by her defense. He took out his phone, handing the surveillance footage to Edward. "Edward, as you instructed, I retrieved all the surveillance footage of this maid's movements. There's no footage of her putting anything in the drinks."

The maid breathed a sigh of relief, and so did Debra.

"But, I found this." Edward held the phone, and Evelyn, curious, leaned in to look. Their foreheads bumped, and Evelyn lowered her head, biting her lips.

Edward's long eyelashes trembled, and inexplicably, his heart felt a burn too.

On the screen, the maid was seen beside a trash can in the backyard, looking around before discarding a bottle, captured in high definition!

"She deliberately avoided the cameras along the way, but because the backyard was dense with plants, a camera was blocked by branches that she didn't notice, so it captured her disposing of the evidence," Bart sneered. "She planned everything meticulously but missed one detail!"

"No! I was just disposing of my own medication, just regular painkillers! Not any drug!" the maid desperately defended herself.

"Bart, did you bring the evidence?" Edward asked in a deep voice.

"Yes!" Bart took out two glass bottles in a plastic bag from his pocket, respectfully handing them to Edward.

Edward tightened his jawline, shaking the plastic bag. "There are drug residues in these bottles. Take them to the hospital for testing immediately. If it's not painkillers, send her to the police station for severe punishment!"

Seeing no way out, the maid knelt before Edward, crying, "Edward, please spare me! I didn't want to drug anyone! It was..." She suddenly turned and pointed at Debra, "It was Debra! She ordered me to do it!"
