Chapter 290 I Want to Go Home with Eric
Molly saw that Eric looked tired while holding the plate and spoon, so she leaned forward, opened her mouth, and took the spoon into her mouth in one bite.
Seeing her obediently eating the food he fed her, Eric's affectionate eyes narrowed, and he smiled quietly.
She ate too quickly and coughed a few times.
"Slow down; even if you're hungry, eat slowly." Eric patted Molly's back, seeing a stream of white liquid at the corner of her mouth. His pupils shrank, and his handsome face blushed up to his neck.
"Eric, it's delicious; I want more," Molly said softly when she saw Eric momentarily lost in thought.
"Okay," Eric's voice was very hoarse.
At this moment, the door was suddenly pushed open.
"Eric! How dare you!"
Molly panicked and, in a moment of desperation, threw herself into Eric's arms!
Her thin arms hugged him tightly, making him deeply feel his importance to Molly.
"Don't be afraid; it's Evelyn and Edward here to pick you up," Eric gently coaxed in her ear.
As he spoke, Evelyn and Edward stormed into the ward.
Seeing the ambiguous scene between Eric and Molly, their expressions froze!
"Eric! Don't touch Molly!" Evelyn's heart almost jumped out of her mouth when she saw Molly curled up in Eric's arms!
Eric hadn't even touched her, but her shout made him instinctively hold Molly tighter.
Evelyn took a deep breath, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
Eric would pass up such an irresistible opportunity? Even if he didn't take it, could he really ignore it completely?
Edward's face was also stern, and he asked coldly, "What exactly happened? Why is Molly in the hospital?"
"Molly, what happened to your ear?" Evelyn's sharp eyes first noticed the bandage on Molly's left ear and hurried to the bedside, questioning Eric, "Eric, what happened to Molly?"
Edward's heart tightened, and he quickly walked over to stand beside Evelyn.
Eric felt that Evelyn and Edward were overly cautious of him.
Molly wasn't their sister; she was their daughter, right?
"Molly just had surgery. I'll explain later," Eric gently stroked Molly's trembling back, saying in a low voice.
Sensing something was wrong, Evelyn didn't press further, just said with a stern face, "Grandpa Byron wants to take Molly back to Half Moon Bay. From now on, Molly will live with him."
"Really? That's great! Molly finally escaped that lion's den!"
Molly hadn't reacted much, but Eric was overjoyed.
Edward didn't say anything, just observed Molly's nervous and helpless expression, suddenly realizing something.
His thin lips pressed into a cold line. "I don't want to go! I want to stay with Eric!" Molly suddenly shouted.
The three were all shocked!
Especially Eric, who stared dumbfoundedly at the girl with tearful doe eyes in his arms, his throat tightening with a sudden thought, 'I want to take her home so badly.'
"Molly, you want to stay with him..." Evelyn was so shocked she was at a loss for words.
"Eric," Molly buried her head into Eric's warm chest, her trembling breath brushing through his crisp black shirt, lightly sweeping his skin, making his heart flutter, "I want to go home with you."
Due to Molly's persistence, Evelyn and Edward had no choice but to agree.
Edward called Eric out, and the two went to the hospital's smoking area.
"Eric, what happened to Molly's ear?" Edward took out two cigarettes, put one in his mouth, and handed one to Eric.
"What happened?" Eric's sharp eyes flashed with a fierce look, "Isn't it your spoiled sister Debra's doing?"
"She's not my sister. I only have one sister, Molly," Edward felt that just hearing Debra's name dirtied his ears, his deep voice cold, "Did Debra hurt Molly?"
Eric was so angry that he almost ground his teeth to pieces, and the cigarette in his hand broke, "Edward, if I take action against Debra, will you stop me out of loyalty to the Wellington family?"
Edward lit his cigarette, took a deep drag, answering without hesitation, "What you tell me today, I'll pretend I never heard."
His attitude couldn't be clearer.
"Thanks," Eric smiled and patted Edward's shoulder.
"Just just teach her a lesson; don't cause any trouble. I'm thinking of you," Edward gave him a meaningful sidelong glance, "If you really like Molly and plan to have a future with her. First, you need to cut ties with those other women and purify yourself completely. Second, don't get your hands dirty again. You're the son of the Clark family, not a gang member. With your current lifestyle, I can't trust Molly to be with you."
"Edward, I only see Molly as a sister, not in the way you're suggesting," Eric hurried to explain, feeling a stab in his heart, but his flickering eyes and the trembling fingers holding the cigarette betrayed his true feelings.
Edward gave him a deep look, speaking calmly, "Don't worry about the grudge between Tiffany and me. Though Molly is her daughter, I've never held any prejudice against her. She's a good girl, and I want her to be happy."
"Edward, I..." Eric's throat tightened, a wave of complex emotions washing over him.
"Even though you don't seem like a good person, with many bad habits, I do believe you're sincere about Molly," Edward said, exhaling a smoke ring, his tone like that of a wise elder. "So I'm willing to give you a chance to pursue Molly."
"Are you going to smoke that or not?" Edward reached out to grab it. "If you're not smoking, give it back. It's my last one."
"I'll smoke it," Eric quickly put it between his lips, furrowing his thick brows. "When did you become so stingy, not even willing to give a cigarette? No wonder I've been your only friend for so many years!"
"I'm gradually quitting smoking. Now I only smoke half a pack a day."
"Why? You're thirty, trying to live healthier?"
"It's because of Evelyn," Edward's eyes softened with warmth as he thought of Evelyn. "She hates me smoking. I know quitting is hard, but I want to try."
"Back then, she hated Nicole too. Why didn't you kick Nicole out?" Eric found Edward's effort to quit smoking for a woman particularly cheesy and couldn't help but tease him.
"I know I'm not a good person. You don't need to keep reminding me how bad I used to be," Edward said, his expression darkening as he stubbed out his half-smoked cigarette in the ashtray. "But in this life, I only want Evelyn, and I'll never give up. I'm stuck on her."
Molly slept until evening.
When she woke up, Eric had already prepared dinner for her.
"Molly, you said you wanted to go home with me today. Were you serious?" Eric asked, sitting by the bed, half-jokingly.
Molly bit her lip, nodded, then shook her head.
Exuding an innocent sensuality, She curled up in her oversized hospital gown, hugging her knees, her delicate toes slightly curled.
Eric unintentionally gazed at her feet. His eyes heated up, and his breathing became more rapid.
"I want to live with Grandpa Byron, but I want to wait until I'm better before going to him," Molly's eyes were a bit moist. "I'm afraid Grandpa will worry."
"Got it." Eric gently placed his large hand on her head, ruffling her soft hair, then suddenly narrowed his eyes mischievously. "Molly, do you trust me that much? Do you know how bad my reputation is out there? Aren't you afraid of jumping from the frying pan into the fire?"
Molly slowly lifted her eyes, her gaze clear and bright, "I don't care what others say. In my eyes, you're a very good person, just like Edward."
Eric's heart was hit by a strong wave, pounding fiercely.
His breath trembled, his fingers tangled in her hair, his large hand slowly moving down to rest on the back of her neck.
Noticing Eric remain silent, Molly felt uneasy, asking timidly, "Eric, am I causing you trouble? Do you not want to take me with you?" Her eyes were full of innocence.
She was simply expressing her thoughts in the simplest terms, completely unaware of what it meant in the adult world to ask to go home with a man.
"I..." Eric hesitated.
Suddenly, a warm, sweet scent enveloped him.
Eric's breath hitched, his mind nearly blank.
Molly's slender arms wrapped around Eric's neck.
The next second, Molly's delicate, beautiful face filled his vision, and her soft, cotton candy-like lips pressed against his stunned thin lips.
Eric's body stiffened, his heart pounding wildly, almost unable to move.
Molly's eyes closed slightly, recalling the feeling of their first kiss, gently prying open his lips with her moist tongue.
A shiver-inducing current surged through Eric's body. He abruptly pulled away from the kiss, breathing heavily, staring at her with reddened eyes, "Molly, what are you doing?"
Molly looked at him sincerely, without a trace of guile. "Don't you like this? I want to repay you."
"Repay?" Eric was completely thrown off.
"I won't take your kindness for granted. Isn't this what you like? I'm not good at it, but I can learn."
Eric was utterly confused, his Adam's apple bobbing uncontrollably.
"Molly, do you know how irresistible you are to a normal man right now?"
"Irresistible?" Molly looked at him blankly, her eyes filled with desire.
She was practically driving him wild with desire.
With his reddened eyes, Eric slowly leaned in, and deeply kissed her lips.
Molly's shoulders trembled as she felt Eric's hot hand grasp her slender waist.
Then she watched as his tall, strong figure leaned over, carefully pressing her down onto the white bed.
