Chapter 550 He Is Not Worthy, Who Is Worthy?
Still waiting? Landon was completely floored by what he heard!
Last night, the heavy rain only let up in the middle of the night, and it started again this morning. The weather forecast even said there would be a hurricane tonight.
Edward was standing out there without eating or drinking. Was he trying to kill himself?
"Edward... has been outside all this time? Since last night? What do you mean?"
Evelyn's beautiful eyes widened in disbelief as she grabbed Simon's shoulders and shook him vigorously. "Tell me! What's going on? You all saw Edward, didn't you? And you kept it from me?"
"Stop shaking me, Evelyn! I'm gonna be sick!" Simon felt dizzy and nauseous.
"Evelyn, calm down!" Landon quickly stepped forward, grabbing her wrist and pulling her into his arms. "Whatever Edward wants to do, it's his choice. If he wants to stand out there, let him. He's gonna leave eventually."
Simon, remembering the suffering Evelyn had endured, couldn't contain his anger. "Evelyn, he's doing this on purpose, thinking we'll forgive him if he stands out there! It's not gonna happen! We will never forgive him!"
"This is between him and me! What does it have to do with you?" Evelyn's eyes reddened with anger as she struggled to break free from Landon's embrace. "Did you see him yesterday? Did Charlie see him, too? Did you all gang up on him?"
"Evelyn, calm down." Landon tightened his hold on her waist, gently patting her trembling back.
"Evelyn, what are you saying? We weren't bullying him. We were standing up for you, teaching him a lesson!"
"I don't need that!" Evelyn shouted, her eyes red with fury, her breathing unsteady. "Why do you have to do unnecessary things? Do you think this is helping me? You're just trying to ease your own guilt by putting Edward down!"
Landon and Simon felt a sharp pain in their hearts.
Taking advantage of Landon's distraction, Evelyn broke free from his embrace and ran towards the gates of Oasis Villa.
Evelyn kicked off her cumbersome slippers and ran barefoot down the long, luxurious hallway.
She hadn't seen the man she loved yet.
But her heart had already burst out of her chest, flying towards him, ignoring the golden cage of this mansion.
Suddenly, Evelyn stopped in her tracks.
Not far away, Aaron stood watching her with piercing eyes, as immovable as a mountain. Even alone, his presence was overwhelming and unstoppable.
"Evelyn, are you going to see him?"
"Aaron... don't stop me." Evelyn panted, her delicate face covered in sweat.
Aaron frowned slightly and shook his head. "You've been foolish for three years. Isn't that enough? Don't do anything stupid. He's not worth it."
"If he's not worth it, then who is?" Evelyn's chest heaved, her eyes filled with tears of heartache. "When I was eleven, he saved my life! On the battlefield in Liberland, we fought terrorists side by side, and he risked his life to protect me! Last year, when I was trapped on Thunder Peak during a landslide and on Aurora Isle, he drew enemy fire to give Landon a chance to escape and took a bullet for me! Aaron, tell me... if he's not worth it, then who is?"
"Evelyn, I get it. Because Edward saved you when you were eleven, you've always admired him. You see him through rose-colored glasses, and you can't accept anyone else. I understand that."
Aaron took a deep breath and opened his eyes, his gaze resolute and unyielding. "But back then, he saved you not because you were Evelyn, not because he loved you. It was just a coincidence."
"Aaron! How can you say that?" Evelyn was both anxious and angry, her voice breaking.
"Everything he did afterward was just for his own redemption, to make up for you. And in those three years, the blood and tears you shed for him, in my opinion, have already repaid any debt. There's no need for you to be entangled with him anymore. He's not your best choice. If you keep insisting, you'll only hurt yourself more."
"Aaron! Do you even hear yourself?" Evelyn's heart ached, her beautiful eyes filled with bloodshot veins. "Losing the baby back then was an accident! I didn't even know I was pregnant, so how could he know? The miscarriage was my choice to keep secret; it had nothing to do with him! How many times do I have to say it?"
But Aaron's expression remained as cold as ice, unmoved.
"Evelyn, you're still young. There are many men out there better than Edward. They can give you what Edward did. Even if they can't, we can."
"Aaron, I'm warning you one last time, don't stop me, or I'll hate you!"
Evelyn tried to push past him.
But how could her frail body be a match for Aaron?
Aaron's eyes darkened, and without moving, he extended his long arm to block her path. Then, with a swift motion, he wrapped his arm around her slender waist, pulling her into his embrace with a strong grip.
In the next second, Evelyn felt the world spin as her feet left the ground, and she was lifted into the air!
Aaron effortlessly hoisted her onto his shoulder, his expression unchanged, his posture straight and firm. His strong arm held her legs tightly. No matter how much Evelyn hit or cursed him, he continued walking forward with long strides.
"Aaron! Are you crazy? Put me down!" Evelyn pounded her fists against his back.
"Evelyn, be good." Aaron's voice was low and gentle as he walked swiftly. "I'm doing this for your own good."

Sarah woke up in the late afternoon.
She groggily climbed out of bed, rubbing her aching forehead. Her stomach churned, causing a dull pain.
"Where am I?"
Sarah was startled, instantly wide awake.
She looked around and realized she was in an opulent presidential suite. If she wasn't mistaken, this was a hotel under the Wellington Group.
"Oh no, Ulysses!"
Sarah trembled as she threw off the covers, only to find her black dress intact.
It seemed that man hadn't touched her.
Her last memory from the previous night was of a passionate, irresistible kiss.
Sarah's breathing quickened as she clutched her chest, her mind in turmoil.
But the large room was now devoid of that carefree, charming figure.
"Ulysses... what kind of man are you?"
Lost in thought, a knock on the door interrupted her.
Sarah suppressed her stomach pain and slowly got up to answer the door.
A hotel staff member stood outside, smiling as he handed her a box of medicine. "Miss, a Mr. Brown asked me to bring you this stomach medicine and a message."
Sarah took the medicine, gripping it tightly. "What message?"
"Take it twice a day, two pills each time, and make sure to eat properly."
With that, the staff member bowed and left.
Sarah stood there, stunned, repeating his words to herself. Her nose tingled, and her eyes reddened.
When was the last time someone cared for her?
She couldn't remember.
She was just a high-class escort, clinging to Gilbert.
She had endless money and wore expensive dresses.
But those dresses were just for Gilbert to see and for other men to take off.
Had anyone ever truly cared about her?
But she had no way back, no choice. She and Ulysses were destined to be enemies, from different worlds.
Sarah took a deep breath, wiping away a tear from the corner of her eye.
Just as she was about to close the door, a hand suddenly grabbed the doorframe, and a pair of familiar, sinister eyes appeared in the gap!
"Curtis?" Sarah's heart tightened as she quickly hid the stomach medicine behind her back.
"Miss Morgan, you're still alive. What a miracle!"
Curtis barged into the room, causing Sarah to stumble against the wall.
Two more men followed, silently drawing guns from their jackets, their expressions as sinister as spies in a thriller.
"Ulysses isn't here. He left," Sarah said coldly.
"He left? You didn't kill him?"
Curtis looked shocked. "Then what did you do last night? Get a room?"
Sarah's head throbbed, and she held her forehead, breathing heavily. "I don't know. I drank too much, and I barely remember what happened."
"You drank with him? Do you know who he is?"
Curtis was furious, his eyes dark. "Miss Morgan, you've always been cautious and meticulous in your work for Mr. Alexander. What's going on this time? This isn't like you!"
"What do you mean? Are you doubting me? If there was something between us, I wouldn't have come to him alone last night, wearing..."
Sarah reached for her dark brown hair, her heart suddenly sinking!
Her hairpin, where was her hairpin?
Panicked, she ran back to the bedroom, searching the bed, sofa, and drawers, but she couldn't find her hairpin!
Curtis, unaware of her distress, continued, "I'm not doubting you, but Mr. Alexander already knows about you and Ulysses disappearing last night! Do you think I could find you? It was Mr. Alexander who tracked you down!"
Sarah's mind flashed with Gilbert's terrifying gaze, and her heart sank heavily.
"You didn't kill Ulysses, fine. But spending the whole night with him, how do you explain that? You said you blacked out. How can you be sure nothing happened?"
Curtis sighed in frustration. "Think carefully about how you'll explain this to Mr. Alexander when you get back!"
"No need to explain."
Sarah's long lashes trembled as she clenched the medicine box. "I've been with Mr. Alexander for years. He knows what kind of person I am. If he doesn't trust me, there's nothing I can do."
Sarah and Curtis left the hotel discreetly.
As their car exited the underground parking lot, Ulysses emerged from the shadows.
Just moments ago, he had placed a tracker on their car.
Now, his phone screen clearly displayed their location.
Following them, Ulysses arrived at a secluded area.
To his surprise, hidden deep within the tranquil forest was a luxurious high-end club!
Sarah and Curtis got out of the car, entered a code, and walked inside.
Under the moonlight, Ulysses stood in the forest, his eyes darkening.
He opened his hand, revealing a delicate silver hairpin. Under the moonlight, he twisted the pinhead with his fingers.
With a click, the ruby flipped over.
Inside was a deadly poison!
Ulysses' deep eyes narrowed with a wicked glint, showing no fear. Instead, he smiled with interest. "Sarah, meeting me is the beginning of your tragedy."
