Chapter 43 Evelyn's Battle with the Adams Family

Evelyn felt as though her breath had been shattered as well.

Nicole easily destroyed her most beloved gift!

A surge of anger flooded her heart. She wished she could break every bone in Nicole's body, just like this bracelet!

"Nicole!" Evelyn roared, her eyes flickering with furious flames.

Nicole was stunned, but soon a cruel determination rose within her.

"Lily, I broke the bracelet, so what?"

"Only you and I are here. If I say you hurt me, think about who Edward will believe." Nicole smiled cunningly. She picked up the fragments of the gemstone bracelet from the sink and extended her delicate wrist.

Evelyn immediately realized what was happening and gasped, wanting to stop it, but it was too late.

She stared wide-eyed as Nicole cut her wrist. Perhaps due to Nicole's inexperience, although she avoided the artery, the wound on her wrist was deep, and blood continued to drip onto the ground.
Nicole was stunned, but she knew that since the performance had started, she had to accept it. Otherwise, she would have endured the pain in vain.

So she ran out of the restroom while crying and screaming.

Evelyn was stunned for a moment. Then she picked up the fragments of the gemstone bracelet from the ground, held them in her hand, and her eyes turned red.

Just as she was leaving the restroom, the innermost door quietly opened a crack.

Nicole covered her bloodstained wrist and cried bitterly as she ran down the corridor.

By this time, the auction had already ended. VIPs were gradually leaving the venue. Many of them instinctively stepped back when they saw this thrilling scene, thinking that the woman must have mental problems.

"Edward, Mom, Aunt...Save me!" Nicole's voice trembled as she shouted randomly.

She did become the center of attention, just as she had expected.

Nicole thought to herself, "Lily, you ruined Edward's relationship with me so that I will ruin your reputation. I will make you an envious and malicious woman in Edward's eyes!"

Karen, Tiffany, and Debra hurried over. The three women shouted and screamed continuously.

"Nicole! My daughter! What happened to your hand?! Who hurt you?!" Karen showed both worry and fear. Her acting was not at all clumsy and was very contagious.

Karen had known since Nicole left the venue with Lily that Nicole was causing trouble for her. So, she immediately reacted and cooperated with Nicole.

She thought to herself, "Nicole is scared of pain. When she was little, she could cry for half a day, even after a small needle prick. This time, she dared to be so cruel to herself..."

She was becoming more and more like a young Tiffany. Tiffany had successfully captured Patrick's heart and, through acting pitiful and self-harming, took the position that originally belonged to Edward's mother, causing Patrick to grow tired of Edward's mother.

Now Nicole was experiencing a situation similar to Tiffany's. She was almost successful so that no mistakes could be made at this time.

People around took out their phones to start recording. Nicole cried even more pitifully. She portrayed herself as a fragile victim.

At this moment, Evelyn walked towards them expressionlessly. She was like a bright light tearing through the darkness, appearing extremely dazzling.

With a serious expression on her beautiful face, she silenced everyone as if she were a beacon.

Coincidentally, Edward and Eric also walked towards them.

"Edward..." Nicole cast an innocent look at Edward.

Edward saw the wound on her wrist, furrowed his brows, and walked quickly towards her.
Karen's mouth twitched as she forcefully pushed Nicole into Edward's arms.
"What happened?" Edward asked anxiously.
"Edward... my wrist hurts so much. Am I going to die?" Nicole sobbed in fear in his embrace.
"No, you won't. Don't scare yourself," Edward said, his brows furrowed as he looked down at the wound on her wrist.
Evelyn looked at them coldly and couldn't help but laugh contemptuously.
Someone had already secretly started recording with their phone.
Eric reacted quickly and immediately sent bodyguards to drive away the onlookers.
"Nicole, I will protect you. I won't let anyone hurt you!" he said urgently.
Tiffany pretended to be worried and asked, "Nicole, how did you hurt your hand? Please tell me!"
"Nicole, don't be afraid. Tell us who hurt you, and we won't let her get away with it!" Debra pretended to be angry and asked.
"I ran into Ms. Brown in the bathroom..."
Nicole weakly gasped in Edward's arms. She looked at Evelyn with resentment in her eyes. "I know that Ms. Brown doesn't like me... so I took the initiative to greet her, hoping to resolve any misunderstandings..."
"But Ms. Brown didn't appreciate it at all, and we started arguing, and I can't explain why..."
Evelyn crossed her arms, tilted her head, and sneered.
Edward looked up and became even angrier when he saw Evelyn laughing.
"When I was about to leave, Ms. Brown grabbed me and wouldn't let me go.
"In a moment of impatience, I pulled my hand away, accidentally removing her bracelet, which fell and broke on the ground.
Ms. Brown got angry because her bracelet broke, and no matter how much I apologized, it was useless, so she..."
Nicole paused, leaving everyone in the room to speculate.
"What a trouble-stirrer!" Evelyn laughed contemptuously, but she had to admit that Nicole's acting was outstanding.
"So, Ms. Brown caused this injury? How is that possible..."
Tiffany covered her mouth and said in shock, "How could she hurt my daughter?!"
She purposely finished Nicole's unfinished sentence.
"What?! You hurt my daughter?!" Karen became furious, pointing at Evelyn, and said, "Why are you so malicious? Why can't we communicate properly instead of hurting her?!
"Nicole is an artist! She has won various piano awards nationwide! The piano is her life!
"If, because of you, she can never play the piano again in the future, no matter who you are, we won't let you go!"
Karen's words left Evelyn unsure of how to respond.
She remembered the pinky finger that could no longer play on the black and white piano keys because of Edward, and she took a deep breath in frustration.
They angrily demanded that she explain.

Then, who should she turn to for help?

"Hold on! It's not like that!" Eric saw Evelyn being attacked and hurriedly stepped forward to try to help her out of the situation. "Ms. Adams may be a victim, but this is just one side of the story. We should listen to what Ms. Brown has to say."

"There is no surveillance in the bathroom, but other people may have been present. We can find someone to verify and find out the truth."

As soon as Debra saw Eric, she became infatuated. She opened her mouth slightly, and her intelligence instantly dropped.

Evelyn was stunned for a moment, and finally, she lifted her head and glanced at Eric.

This made Eric very happy, feeling as if he was in a valley full of flowers.

They silently locked eyes, but in Edward's eyes, it became evidence of their ambiguity.

Edward had no expression on his face, and his fingers clenched.

"There was no one else present. It was just the two of us in the bathroom at the time," Evelyn said coldly.

"Oh, I see." Eric frowned, feeling helpless.

"If it wasn't her who hurt Nicole, then who could it be? Could Nicole hurt herself? My daughter is most afraid of pain!" Karen shouted angrily.

Nicole cried in Edward's arms but felt proud in her heart.

"Lily."

Edward asked coldly, "Did you do it?"

Evelyn's heart sank suddenly. She resisted the sadness and grievances, clenched her fists, and controlled the resentment in her heart.

Eric rubbed his temples speechlessly. He used to be an excellent CEO, but why was he so stubborn?!

Edward saw Evelyn's eyes turn red and couldn't help but feel some regret.

He thought, 'Maybe I went too far with what I just said.'

He was not unable to distinguish right from wrong, but he felt humiliated about the auction of the necklace. Facing Lily, it was hard for him not to mix his personal grievances with it.

So, his attitude involuntarily became strict.

Evelyn took a deep breath and smiled, "I did it. Do you want revenge?"
