Chapter 420 Recording

The air suddenly became awkward.

Evelyn stared blankly at Edward's handsome face. His smile at this moment was the gentlest and brightest she had ever seen.

She coughed lightly, quickly looking away, not daring to meet those shining eyes again, as if one more glance would reveal some unspeakable secret.

She realized that he had changed a lot.

The old Edward was as cold as ice, like a chilling abyss.

The current Edward was gradually melting, turning into a spring that surrounded her, giving her a warm sense of security.

Peter, who had always been single, couldn't stand it anymore and broke the ambiguous atmosphere, "It's just a suit, why bother washing it? The Taylor family is wealthy enough to afford a new one. Evelyn, just buy Mr. Wellington a new suit. I'll cover the cost!"

"Thank you, Mr. Taylor." Edward's thin lips curved slightly, his face calm.

"Peter, are you sure you want to pay?" Evelyn's emotions had calmed a bit, and she raised an elegant eyebrow, "If I'm not mistaken, Mr. Wellington's suit is a high-end custom piece from a renowned royal brand in Italy. It's not something money can usually buy. Even if you could buy it, your annual salary might only be enough for one sleeve of Mr. Wellington's suit."

Peter's face changed instantly, and he immediately backtracked, shouting, "No, I won't pay! Pretend I didn't say anything!"

After all, Evelyn was like a little sister he had watched grow up, so he wasn't afraid of losing face!

Edward's smile deepened, his gentle gaze fixed on Evelyn, "As expected of the genius designer Sharon, your eye is truly extraordinary."

Evelyn was stunned and met his gaze, "When did you find out?"

"At the birthday party hosted by the Taylor family, when Joyce appeared in that stunning black evening gown, I guessed it. No, actually, I should have guessed it when I saw you handling clothes in Betty's studio." Edward said dreamily.

Evelyn bit her red lips, her beautiful cheeks showing a faint blush.

In an instant, a mix of emotions surged in her heart, indescribably intertwined.

Edward suddenly remembered the suit that he still kept carefully in his closet, though it was now worn and tattered. It was a suit that Evelyn, who was once his wife, had painstakingly sewn for him over half a month, day and night.

Every stitch was filled with affection.

But such treatment, such love, Edward might never receive again.

He should have known back then, he should have understood how excellent, perfect, and impeccable Evelyn was.

But at that time, he was blind and saw nothing.

Evelyn's gloomy and obscure expression fell into his eyes, hitting his chest heavily, making his already broken heart soften.

In the end, he owed her too much.

Even a lifetime might not be enough to make up for it.

"Evelyn, is there some important evidence on Kimberly's phone? Is that why you're so eager to fix it?" Peter asked curiously.

Evelyn nodded sadly, "Before she died, she whispered in my ear that she had crucial evidence of Tiffany's crimes on her phone. That was her last words to me."

At this, they all lowered their heads in silence.

Poor Kimberly, in her final moments, wasn't thinking about her own life or death. Instead, she was thinking about how to tear open the darkness of evil and let the light of justice shine through.

"Kimberly's death must be related to her knowing this secret." Peter frowned in thought.

"Yes. Otherwise, the scheming and cautious Mrs. Wellington wouldn't have suddenly lost her composure and taken the risk of sending a hitman after Kimberly to silence her." Evelyn clenched her fists in anger, her eyes filled with a red tide of fury.

"She has some nerve to target you!"

Peter was furious at the thought of Evelyn's ordeal that night, slamming the table, "You have five brothers and a father who is as wealthy as a nation and powerful beyond measure, and she dared to target you? We don't need Dad to step in; any one of us brothers could make her disappear without a trace!"

Edward's deep, dark eyes flashed with a cold glimmer.

What had happened to make Tiffany so recklessly vicious?

Evelyn's lips curled into a cold smile, her face as cold as the moon, "Killing Kimberly was indeed Tiffany's idea. But sending someone after me might not have been Tiffany's doing."

"I think it's very likely that Debra falsely conveyed Tiffany's orders or took the opportunity to target me. Given Tiffany's cunning and scheming nature, she wouldn't act so recklessly. This seems more like Debra's handiwork."

Edward couldn't help but nod slightly.

"Debra is Tiffany's daughter. They're in cahoots, so they can wait to reunite in prison!" Peter cursed!

Evelyn took a deep breath, her heavy gaze fixed on Edward.

"Tiffany, killed Amanda, evidence, phone."

Edward was stung by her intense gaze, somewhat confused.

Evelyn opened Kimberly's phone and browsed through the entire photo album, finding nothing unusual.

She thought that since it was evidence, it should be a recording or something similar, so she opened the recording app.

Sure enough, there was a recording file quietly lying there.

Evelyn's long lashes lowered, her fingertips burning as she clicked on the recording.

The recording quality wasn't good; it was faint and muffled, as if it had been secretly recorded in a closed environment.

But the interrogation room was exceptionally quiet at this moment, and they held their breath, able to hear even a pin drop.

Thus, Tiffany and Debra's conversation was clearly transmitted to their ears.

"Mom! You should stay away from Percy lately; he definitely has ulterior motives!"

"As for Amanda's death, everyone who knows this secret must take it to the grave! As long as he's alive, he's a deadly threat to you!"

Edward's pupils contracted violently!
