Chapter 584 Irrefutable Evidence, Better to Settle Privately

Calvin tried to keep a brave face, but his legs were shaking uncontrollably.

Gordon was also stunned by the fierce look in Landon's eyes; his mouth clamped shut.

Evelyn and Edward were completely shocked, unable to regain their composure for a long while.

"Oh my God, he's so protective!" Evelyn thought.

No one knew Landon's temperament better than Evelyn. Apart from his family and William, who had been with him for years, Landon never showed much concern for outsiders. But now, he was showing an extraordinary amount of care for Adrian. It was simply unbelievable.

Evelyn noticed Adrian's tender gaze towards Landon, filled with warmth and affection, almost weaving a web of connection.

Evelyn muttered to herself, "What? Why is the atmosphere so...ambiguous? Why do they look so compatible?"

Before she could dwell on it, Gordon spoke bitterly, "Mr. Taylor, even if it's reassessed, minor injuries are still injuries. According to our laws, if the forensic examination determines the injuries as minor, it can lead to up to three years in prison. William still can't escape jail time!"

The jerk practically spat out William's name! How could he be related to William, his own flesh and blood? The world of debauchery and insatiable desires had twisted him into a heartless demon!

"Calvin," Landon said, completely ignoring Gordon. After all, he was just the Alexander family's dog; he needed to speak to the master. "William never laid a hand on Randy, though he wanted to. The one who hit Randy was me, and there's video evidence."

He turned to Adrian, his voice softening, "Adrian, show the video."

Adrian hesitated, biting his lip, then took out his phone and played a video for everyone to see.

Randy's screams echoed through the silent office. The video clearly showed Landon delivering blow after blow, leaving the guy battered.

"Is this irrefutable enough?" Landon smiled coldly, like a devilishly handsome demon of the night.

Chief Carter and Gordon were stunned, their plans to convict William shattered!

"Landon, how could you?" Evelyn covered her mouth in shock, leaning against Edward.

Edward's warm hand gripped her trembling shoulder, his eyes deep as he watched Landon, feeling a mix of emotions. He understood Landon's intentions well. From the start, Landon had anticipated trouble and prepared for it.

"Chief Carter, can you release William now?" Landon asked with a half-smile.

Chief Carter stammered, glancing at Calvin, "This, this..."

"You wrongfully arrested an innocent man. I informed your superior before coming here. He's furious, and I suspect your career is over."

Chief Carter's face turned pale with fear, and he rushed out to release William personally.

"Calvin, I know you won't give up easily, and I don't want to waste words with you. Bart!"

"Yes, Mr. Taylor!" Bart quickly stepped in, standing beside Landon.

Evelyn was momentarily stunned, wondering why Landon was commanding Edward's secretary. But Bart seemed versatile enough, almost like he could be the CEO's secretary for KnightSpear Group.

Landon gave Bart a look, and Bart handed a file to Calvin.

Calvin frowned as he opened it and scanned the contents, his pupils shrinking in shock!

"Inside, there's a transfer contract for the Torontow resort project and a settlement agreement."

Landon's voice was cold and intimidating, "If you agree to settle, the Torontow project will be our family's compensation to Randy. If you don't accept the settlement, that's fine. I've been CEO long enough; I might as well do a couple of years in prison, and Evelyn can officially take over. It's a win-win. But given your current predicament, I doubt you have any reason to refuse, right?"

Landon's offer was extremely tempting, and Calvin's family ties couldn't support his pride. So, he signed the settlement agreement decisively, took the contract, and left the office without looking back. It was as if all the animosity had never existed.

Gordon was furious, his eyes bloodshot! He couldn't believe he ended up with nothing, failing to convict William or make the Taylor family suffer, and becoming a laughingstock!

"Gordon, I was right," Evelyn said, her eyes sharp as blades, her gaze piercing his disgusting face. "You'll never beat us."

"Damn it... You got lucky!" He muttered through gritted teeth and walked out.

"Gordon." Adrian suddenly called out with a smile.

Gordon stopped, his teeth clenched, "What else?"

"That night, how was the gourmet feed? Did it taste good?"
