Chapter 358 Both Angry and Afraid

Edward's slap, as expected, ruptured Tiffany's eardrum and even loosened one of her molars.

How much hatred must there be to strike so viciously!

Debra hurriedly accompanied Tiffany to the hospital for treatment. Tiffany, clutching her ear, cursed Evelyn and Edward all the way, growing angrier with each word. The angrier she got, the more her ear and face hurt.

The driver was dumbfounded, frequently glancing at the rearview mirror.

Who could believe that the usually elegant and noble Tiffany was now acting like a shrew?

"What are you looking at?" Debra noticed the driver peeking and immediately snapped, "I warn you, just drive my mom and keep your mouth shut! If a single word of what happened in this car gets out, your whole family won't be able to live in Mugden anymore!"

"Yes, yes!" The driver, trembling, dared not look again.

"Debra, I can't believe I cared for you! You useless ingrate!" With nowhere to vent her anger, Tiffany lashed out at Debra, jabbing her head so hard that Debra almost fell over. "You just stood there and watched me get hit? You just watched Evelyn bully me? You did nothing for me!"

"I-I never could stand up to Evelyn. If I acted rashly, I feared it would backfire!" Debra clenched her fists in frustration. "You only scold me, but why don't you scold Molly? She hasn't even shown her face!

I really don't know what Mr. Clark sees in her. He must be blind!"

"And you dare compare yourself to Molly? So what if she didn't show up? She quietly won over Eric!

"If I could become Eric's mother-in-law, that would be great, much better than your useless flattery!" Tiffany didn't hide her disdain for Debra.

She used to not believe it, but now she had to admit that Debra's inferior genes were evident from birth. No matter how she was raised, her lowly nature couldn't be eradicated.

She was even worse than Molly, who had a defect!

Had she known, she would have focused on raising Molly. All her efforts were in vain!

At the hospital, Tiffany received treatment and was admitted to a VIP room.

Lying in bed, her cheek still swollen, her ear throbbing with pain, she couldn't sleep, tossing and turning, filled with anger and fear.

She feared that her relationship with Trevor would be discovered by Evelyn, and that Trevor might expose her.

She was even more afraid that the scandal of Debra's biological father not being Patrick but Trevor would be revealed.

If that happened, she and Debra would be finished, with no way out!

Tiffany stayed in the hospital for three days, with Debra boredly keeping her company.

By the third day, the swelling on her cheek had subsided, but Patrick had not shown up.

During this time, Debra called him more than once, asking when he would come to see Tiffany, but he always responded indifferently and hung up.

Originally, Debra thought Tiffany would be heartbroken, as what woman wouldn't want to be loved by her husband? Being ignored in the hospital would drive any woman crazy.

But surprisingly, Tiffany remained calm and composed, not crying or making a fuss, eating and recovering normally, almost too normally.

This left Debra utterly confused.

She had always thought Tiffany couldn't live without Patrick.

But now, looking at Tiffany's cold and indifferent face, she felt as if Tiffany had never loved Patrick, treating him like a stranger.

"Mom, Dad hasn't come to see you in three days, and you don't seem worried at all?" Debra couldn't help but ask.

"Your dad and Edward are the same. If you cling too tightly, they won't care about you. If you stay distant, they'll come to you."

Tiffany's words were light-hearted, but her heart was in turmoil.

She hadn't contacted Patrick in these three days, not because she didn't want to, but because she didn't dare.

She was now ready to be discharged, but she didn't dare go home, staying in the hospital under the pretense of recovery to avoid him.

After Evelyn's outburst, she clearly felt that Patrick's gaze towards her had changed.

She needed this time to think about how to explain things to Patrick and how to regain his favor.

Just then, the door to the room opened.

"You all wait outside. I'll go in and see her."

"Yes, Mr. Wellington."

Hearing Patrick's voice, Tiffany and Debra were stunned.

Tiffany quickly took out a powder compact from under her pillow, hurriedly using the puff to make her lips look paler, making herself appear more haggard.

As Patrick walked in, she leaned weakly against the headboard, looking pitifully at Debra with tearful eyes. "Debra, I'm so thirsty. Could you get me some water?"

The tears came easily, reminding Debra of the missing Nicole.

"Dad! You're finally here!" Debra pretended to be surprised, covering her mouth.

Patrick stared intently at the haggard Tiffany on the bed, his emotions unreadable, his gaze making her scalp tingle.

"Debra, you've worked hard taking care of your mom these past few days. I've called the housekeeper to take over. You can go home and rest."

"Okay, Dad, Mom, I'll head home then."

Debra gave Tiffany a meaningful look, then walked out, closing the door behind her.

"Miss Wellington, shall I take you home?" The bodyguard at the door asked respectfully.

"No need, give me the car keys. I want to go for a drive."

Debra, feeling depressed, walked to the underground parking lot to get the car.

After being cooped up in the hospital for three days, she felt she reeked of disinfectant. She needed to buy some nice clothes, take a full-body bath, and enjoy a high-end spa to feel refreshed.

Just as she was about to reach the car, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her neck!

Debra's vision went black, and she lost consciousness.

As she fell, the cold, beautiful face of Ellen appeared behind her.

"Take her away."

"Yes." Two men in black appeared, dragging Debra away like a sack.
