Chapter 364 Impossible to Mend

Everyone's eyes were fixed on Gilbert.

Elbert's eyes immediately lit up, and he leaned forward, "Gilbert! Hurry up and tell us!"

"Evelyn has another identity; she is an excellent surgeon who previously performed a highly difficult craniotomy on Edward. In the medical field, she is known as the 'White Goddess.'"

Calvin suddenly looked up, staring coldly at his composed face, gritting his teeth.

"Why don't I personally go and invite her, let this 'White God' treat Randy again? Maybe there will be a glimmer of hope," Gilbert suggested sincerely.

"What? Evelyn is actually a surgeon? And she performed a craniotomy on Edward? Is this for real?" Elbert found it simply unbelievable!

He had watched Evelyn grow up, but how could she possess such superb medical skills?

If this were true, such an outstanding woman could only be the daughter-in-law of the Alexander family!

"Of course it's true, and I'm not the only one who knows about it. It's just that Evelyn is low-key and doesn't like to publicize it."

"That's great, really great!"

Elbert finally saw a glimmer of hope, and his gaze at Gilbert changed from previous indifference to full of approval and excitement, "Then tomorrow! Tomorrow morning, Gilbert, you will go with me to Hameen to personally invite Evelyn to treat Randy!"

"Okay, Dad," Gilbert agreed without hesitation.

"Gilbert, you have always been on good terms with Evelyn. I think even if I don't use my old face, for your sake, Evelyn should help, right?" Elbert's tone towards Gilbert, whom he usually looked down upon, became much gentler.

"A doctor has a benevolent heart, and Evelyn is kind-hearted. Even without me, I think she would help," Gilbert smiled modestly.

He didn't appear smug when Elbert asked for a favor. Instead, he appeared very humble.

Elbert nodded slowly, his satisfaction with Gilbert increasing a bit more.

Meanwhile, Calvin watched their interaction, his molars aching from clenching his teeth.

After the family meeting ended, Gilbert walked towards his room in a good mood.

"Stop."

A cold, harsh voice stabbed from behind, and Gilbert stopped in his tracks, squinting his eyes and yawning as he turned around.

"Calvin, what else do you want? It's late, I need to go rest."

"Gilbert, your act is good, and your two-pronged approach is also good," Calvin took two steps forward, his gaze sharp as an eagle's.

"Huh?" Gilbert tilted his head, as if he didn't understand a word.

"Randy's car accident, you orchestrated it, didn't you?" Calvin cut to the chase, no longer wasting words.

"Huh?" Gilbert continued to play dumb.

"You had someone tamper with Randy's car, but you didn't want his life, just made him a cripple."

Calvin, being extremely smart, had already seen through his sinister thoughts, "Then, you suggested to Dad to introduce Ms. Taylor with medical skills, gaining favor and showing your ability to relieve his worries.

Gilbert, you're really something!"

Gilbert's long, cold white fingers adjusted his glasses, slightly raised his delicate chin, and suddenly burst into a string of wild laughter!

The laughter echoed through the luxurious, empty corridor, making even Calvin feel a chill.

"Calvin, how can you be the president of the Alexander Group? With your story-telling skills, you would have already made a name for yourself in the screenwriting circle. How could you have been suppressed by Landon and Edward in the business world for so many years?" Gilbert clutched his chest, laughing so hard he was out of breath.

Calvin gritted his teeth, "Gilbert!"

"What does Randy's car accident have to do with me?" After saying that, Gilbert turned and left.

Calvin's eyes were dark as he took out his phone, pressed the screen, and ended the recording.

Back in his room, Gilbert changed out of his suit, took a shower, and sat on the sofa with a glass of red wine.

Comfortable, joyful, and carefree.

Sometimes, making someone wish they were dead is much more satisfying than killing them outright.

A knock on the door sounded, and Curtis walked in, locking the door behind him.

"Mr. Alexander, you called for me."

"Is everything arranged for the follow-up?" Gilbert sipped his wine.

"Yes, the truck driver has taken all the blame and won't reveal a thing."

"Very good. Tomorrow, Elbert and I will go to Hameen to invite Ms. Taylor to treat Randy."

"Why? How did Elbert know Ms. Taylor has medical skills?"

"It was my suggestion."

Curtis was shocked, "Mr. Alexander, why do you want to save Randy? What if Ms. Taylor's medical skills are superb and she really cures him?"

"Impossible. Although she is a doctor, there's little she can do for Randy," Gilbert chuckled mockingly.

Randy's legs were crippled by him, the bones shattered into pieces, impossible to mend.

"If I suggest helping Randy without holding a grudge, Elbert will surely remember my generosity. Even if the treatment fails, he will still be grateful to me."

Curtis suddenly understood.

"Even if Randy is his most beloved son, so what."

Gilbert stood by the dark window, swirling his wine, his gaze darker than the night, "How could Charlie let Randy marry a cripple?

In the end, I will become Elbert's only hope."
