Chapter 477 It Can't Be Mine
Since Molly wasn't asleep, Eric wouldn't let her off easily.
Eric didn't even bother to shower. He undressed while kissing the lips he had longed for, until he had her completely pinned on the bed.
Under the soft moonlight, the room was filled with heavy, intoxicating breaths and sweet moans.
After making love, neither of them had the energy to shower. They were drenched in sweat but still embraced each other as they fell asleep.
"Honey, I'm sorry for always making you wait so long."
Eric always felt he owed her a lot. People with autism needed companionship, but he was too busy to provide that for her.
Molly rubbed her head against his chest and shook her head.
"Don't be fooled by my status as the eldest grandson of the Clark family. It may look glamorous, but my position is far inferior to yours. You're Mr. Wellington's precious daughter, loved by Edward and Evelyn. I can only rely on my efforts."
Eric smiled bitterly. "If I don't get involved in the Clark Group, it really won't have anything to do with me in the future. How will I support you then?"
He used to want the Clark Group for his father.
Now, he had another reason to support his wife.
"Honey." Molly called him softly, "You've given me so much already. I don't need anything else. I just want you to be healthy."
"No, it's not enough." Eric lifted her chin with his fingers, gazing deeply into her eyes. "I want to give you all of myself, and I want to give you the entire Clark Group as a wedding gift."
Molly listened in a daze and fell asleep without realizing it.
Eric was exhausted, but holding the woman he loved, he couldn't fall asleep.
'Molly, you are my woman, and I want to give you the best.'
He was never content to be just a seemingly idle and incapable rich kid.
He wanted to avenge Jared, make Maurice willingly hand over the Clark Group to him, and leave Neil with nothing!
After returning to Mugden, Edward moved into Evelyn's villa.
Previously, it was out of Evelyn's pity. This time, it was legitimate and official.
They had been intimate for hours on the plane. After forcing themselves to get home, Evelyn quickly washed up and fell asleep, not even bothering to change her pajamas. She was too tired!
She was too tired!
Edward didn't want her to sleep uncomfortably, so he clumsily helped her change into her pajamas. She was sleeping so soundly, like a beautiful doll he could move around.
"Yummy," Evelyn mumbled in her sleep, licking her lips.
Edward couldn't help but smile. He leaned over and playfully tapped her nose with his finger.
"Little glutton. I'll feed you when you wake up."
Suddenly, he remembered how Evelyn had bitten her lip to keep from making a sound on the plane, and he couldn't help but feel aroused again. No, he couldn't take advantage of her. After a fierce internal struggle, Edward only kissed her forehead, tucked her in, and left the room.
May had already gone to bed that night. It wasn't until the next day that she learned Edward and Evelyn had returned triumphantly, and she was so excited she cried tears of joy!
"May, you've taken good care of the house these days. Thank you."
Edward wrapped his arm around Evelyn's waist as they stood in front of May, looking like a couple who had just returned from their honeymoon!
They tacitly agreed not to tell May about Edward's severe injuries. May was getting old, and they didn't want to worry her.
At that moment, the doorbell rang.
Bart walked in, carrying two large food boxes, sweating and panting.
"Mr. Wellington! I finally got the food you asked me to order last night!"
"That restaurant has a long wait, at least three hours."
Evelyn swallowed silently and then looked at Edward with a hint of reproach. "Why did you trouble Bart for no reason?"
"Because you were craving something delicious."
"When did I?"
"Last night, in your dreams," Edward whispered with a smile.
Evelyn's face turned red with embarrassment. "You believe my sleep talk?"
"Thank you, Bart. Please set it on the table with May, and we'll all eat together." Edward nodded with a smile.
"Together?" Bart was taken aback, feeling both honored and flustered. "No, no! I can't eat at the same table as you. It's against the rules!"
Edward said, "If I say eat, you eat."
Bart gasped, but inside, he was overjoyed!
Alright, he could see it now. Edward and Evelyn's relationship had progressed significantly after their trip to Torontow!
Everyone gathered around the table, enjoying the delicious food and warm atmosphere.
At that moment, there were no distinctions between master and servant; they were a close-knit family.
In fact, May and Bart had been like family to Edward for many years.
After the meal, Evelyn and May cleaned up the kitchen, while Bart called Edward to the small living room to discuss something.
"Mr. Wellington, while you were away, there was a situation at the Wellington Group." Bart lowered his voice.
"Is it about the collaboration with Journey Group in Mythorica?"
Edward had been in a coma for a while and had been recovering since waking up.
Evelyn had been keeping a close eye on him, not wanting him to worry, so she had taken his phone away while he was in the hospital. He hadn't been able to contact Bart immediately.
He naturally didn't know what had happened at the Wellington Group.
"There were no problems. In fact, the collaboration is progressing very smoothly."
"Smoothly? Isn't that a good thing?"
Edward frowned. "But you look worried. Did something go wrong with the collaboration?"
"The person pushing the collaboration forward wasn't Mr. Patrick Wellington, but Mr. Caleb Wellington."
"Caleb?" Edward's heart tightened.
"Yes. You weren't at that meeting, so Mr. Caleb Wellington stepped in and negotiated the collaboration with Journey Group's chairman, Gavin."
Bart's expression soured at the mention of Caleb, clearly disapproving. "He's always been a recluse in Mythorica, never caring about the Wellington Group. Why did he suddenly show up at such a critical moment? It's too coincidental!"
"I think his actions are inappropriate. Isn't this just taking advantage of the situation and overstepping his bounds?"
"Bart, don't say that." Edward's expression turned serious. "Caleb is my savior. He almost didn't escape from those kidnappers while saving me, and ended up with a lifetime of ailments. If it weren't for that incident, the position of heir wouldn't have been mine."
