Chapter 481 Affection

Riverside Villa.

At this moment, all the servants of the Wellington family had learned about the Lloyd case through TV and mobile phones. Everyone was in great shock, and the discussions were boiling over!

"Lloyd? The special assistant Lloyd, who was always by Mrs. Wellington's side?"

"Of course! It's him! I felt uncomfortable the first time I saw him. He looked so sinister, and it turns out he really is a bad guy!"

"Kimberly, poor Kimberly! Such a good girl, and now she's gone!"

The servants began to cry, with sobs echoing one after another.

"Kimberly's death, Tiffany has to take half the responsibility! How could she keep such a dangerous person in the house? She's too selfish. Do the lives of servants not matter?" Someone said indignantly.

"Has our noble Mrs. Wellington ever treated us like humans?"

One maid who was close to Kimberly said angrily, "Tiffany and Debra are both very vicious! Kimberly was often bullied by them. Sometimes they would make her work late into the night, not letting her sleep. Once, when she was changing clothes, I saw bruises all over her arms. I asked if Tiffany and Debra had bullied her, but she just kept silent."

"Too pitiful! Tiffany and Debra are simply inhumane!"

Everyone nodded in agreement.

They had long had enough of Tiffany and Debra, but they were too afraid of the Wellington family's power to speak out.

"Back when Mrs. Wellington hadn't divorced Mr. Wellington, she treated all the servants well and protected us. She didn't put on any airs at all. After Mrs. Wellington left, she took the last bit of humanity from this place. If it weren't for the money, I'd rather go out and pick up trash!"

"Then go pick up trash! Why are you still here?"

A sharp, piercing voice suddenly interrupted, startling everyone!

They saw Debra, her face flushed with anger, storming over in high heels. "What did you just say? Say it again!"

The air froze, and the servants didn't dare to make a sound.

"Say it! Why aren't you saying anything now?"

Debra's mouth twisted in disdain. "You lowly creatures, no wonder you can only be servants your whole lives! Taking our family's money and still talking nonsense! If I hear you mention Evelyn again, I'll make sure your whole family is kicked out of Mugden!"

"What did I say wrong? Do you treat us like humans?"

"You, how dare you?" Debra's eyes widened like red lights, momentarily speechless.

"Mrs. Wellington is beautiful and kind-hearted, much better than you! You have no manners and don't know how to respect others. I've had enough of working here! I'm quitting. Do your worst!"

With that, the maid tore off her name tag and threw it directly at Debra.

"Bitch! How dare you!"

Debra, used to being domineering at home, rushed forward and slapped the maid.

All the servants surged forward, surrounding her, many of them taking off their name tags, ready to rebel together!

Debra was scared but still cursed angrily, "What are you doing? Do you believe I'll call the police and have you all arrested? I'll fire all of you! Without the Wellington family, you won't survive!"

"Debra."

A deep, authoritative voice came from behind, and the chaotic scene instantly quieted down.

Everyone froze, then quickly greeted, "Mr. Wellington."

"Dad?" Debra was suddenly flustered, standing there helplessly.

Patrick and Carl had appeared behind her without her noticing!

Wasn't he on a business trip? Why did he suddenly come back?

"What were you doing just now? Did you hit someone?" Patrick asked coldly, his face showing a hint of anger.

"Dad, let me explain. It's the servants' fault!"

Debra immediately put on a pitiful expression, running over to hug Patrick's arm like a bullied little rabbit. "These servants were badmouthing me and Mom behind our backs. They were too rude, too much! They take the Wellington family's salary but don't even have the basic professional ethics to respect their employers! Please fire them all!"

"Is that why you hit someone?" Patrick ignored her complaints and continued with a stern face, "Just because you're the daughter of the Wellington family, and they are servants, does that give you the right to hit them? Have you forgotten all the manners and etiquette I taught you since you were a child? Or have you always been like this in private, and I just happened to catch you today?"

"Dad, what do you mean?" Debra's heart pounded as she stared blankly at Patrick. "They insulted me and Mom. Do you think I'm wrong? How can you say that?"

However, no matter how much she protested, Patrick remained expressionless and indifferent.

The servants began to gather, showing signs of wanting to leave.

"Riverside Villa runs smoothly every day thanks to your hard work. I am very grateful for your efforts over the years and hope you won't resign because of this. If you do, I wouldn't know where to find such good employees like you. Today's incident was Debra's fault. I want her to apologize to you. Debra, apologize," Patrick said, glancing at Debra with no hint of a smile.

"Dad, what did you say?" Debra was so angry her scalp tingled!

"No matter what, hitting people is wrong. This is not the etiquette I taught you. Apologize immediately."

Patrick's expression was stern, leaving no room for negotiation.

Debra had no choice but to face the servants with a flushed face and grudgingly apologize, "I'm sorry, it was my fault."

For the proud and arrogant Debra, this moment felt like a bone-deep humiliation!

Just then, the servants greeted in unison, "Miss Wellington!"

Patrick turned around in surprise to see Eric holding Molly's hand, the two walking side by side like a newlywed couple returning home, exuding a sweet atmosphere that even he could feel. He had to admit, they looked very well-matched now.

But what moved Patrick more was the way Eric looked at Molly. It was a look of deep affection, filled with intense and passionate feelings, a look he was all too familiar with. Once upon a time, he had looked at Amanda with the same unwavering love.

"It's Mr. Clark! He's with Miss Wellington?" The maids were extremely excited!

"That's wonderful! Mr. Clark is handsome and wealthy, and most importantly, he has a strong background. He will definitely protect Miss Wellington!"

"Yes, yes! Miss Wellington will never be bullied by Debra again!"

The last sentence was said in a deliberately lowered voice.

But Patrick wasn't deaf; he still heard it and frowned slightly.

"Dad," Molly called out timidly, her expression alone enough to evoke sympathy.

"Uncle Patrick, hello."

Eric smiled brightly and raised his hand, still tightly holding Molly's, deliberately showcasing their affection in front of everyone. "Molly missed you and wanted to come back to see you."

Molly's face turned as red as the morning sun, shyly lowering her clear eyes and leaning closer to Eric.

At this point, although Debra had given up on becoming Eric's wife after being beaten by him, seeing Molly and Eric so close still made her heart bleed with jealousy!

"Good, good." Patrick nodded repeatedly. "Molly, how have you been feeling lately? Is your health okay?"

"I'm doing well. Eric has been taking great care of me."

"Eric, thank you for taking care of Molly during this time." Patrick had clearly accepted their relationship!

"You're welcome." Eric looked at Molly's shy, beautiful face with focused eyes full of passionate desire. "Taking care of Molly is my lifelong responsibility, and I plan to cherish and care for her forever."

Patrick coughed lightly, holding back a smile.

Molly's eyes were moist. "Eric."

"Uncle Patrick, did we come at a bad time? Are we interrupting you dealing with family matters?"

Eric casually curled his lips into a mocking smile. "I wonder what Debra did wrong to make you so angry. You're always so busy; Edward said you hardly have time to take care of your health. Don't let small matters upset you."

Debra was trembling all over, on the verge of an emotional explosion. She glared at Molly with bloodshot eyes, as if she wanted to tear her apart!
