Chapter 112 Official Divorce

Nicole was shocked by the beating.

"I've told you before, no matter what your plans are, you can't drag Debra into this! Otherwise, don't blame me for cutting ties!"

"Tiffany, I was wrong. I got confused. I won't do it again, I swear!" Nicole hated Tiffany but had to beg for mercy.

Tiffany looked down at Nicole with disdain. 'If the Reed family had anyone else, I wouldn't have supported someone as scheming as Nicole to marry into the Wellington family. But I've invested too much in her to discard her now.'

Tonight's incident disgusted her, but she had to swallow her pride.

"Now that Lily's part of the Taylor family and Charlie dotes on his kids, you can't touch her! Focus on winning back Edward's heart and marrying into the Wellington family as planned!" Tiffany's red lips made her look fierce.

"But Tiffany, Edward wants to break up with me! Like Patrick said, once he decides, no one can stop him!" Nicole cried, seeing her dream slipping away.

"It's not over yet."

Tiffany's eyes turned cold as she grabbed Nicole's shoulder. "Don't contact Edward for a few days. Stay home and let everyone think you're heartbroken over him."

"Tiffany, will this work?" Nicole doubted.

"Nicole, you have to endure some hardship. Remind him of your good times together to win him back!"

That night, Edward sat in his study, chain-smoking. The smoke blurred his deep, cold eyes and somber face.

Thinking about "See you in court at 9 AM tomorrow," he couldn't sleep.

Meanwhile, Evelyn, after visiting Landon in the hospital, was taken back to her villa in Mugden by William and Charlie. She had to go to court for her divorce the next morning, so she sent Charlie back to Hameen.

After removing her makeup, taking a bath, and doing her skincare routine, Evelyn put on a silk eye mask and slept soundly until morning.

Exhausted from Byron's birthday party, she woke up at 8 AM.

"Why didn't you wake me earlier?! The alarm didn't work, but you're alive, right?!"

Evelyn said, walking downstairs and putting on her tassel earrings.

William, wearing an apron, hurried over, unable to take his eyes off the nearly makeup-free Evelyn, who looked stunning.

Even though he saw her like this every day, he never got tired of it.

"I saw you were tired last night, so I let you sleep longer."

"That's not okay. Today is my divorce day!"

Evelyn looked at William with mock annoyance. "I'm always punctual, and if I'm late, Edward might think I can't bear to leave him."

"Finally, the day has come. Congrats." William sighed sincerely.

"Exactly, don't you see? I even wore a beautiful dress today." Evelyn twirled around.

William had worried Evelyn might feel down today, but it seemed he had overthought it.

"Evelyn, grab a bite before you go."

"No time, just pack it for me. I'll eat in the car!"

To make Evelyn more comfortable, William chose a Rolls-Royce instead of a sports car today.

With a sandwich in her mouth, Evelyn sat in the back seat, typing away on her laptop, still handling work.

"Our team has been trying to contact Ada, but she's tough. She refused to cooperate with KnightSpear Group!" William complained while driving. "We've only managed to talk to her agent twice and haven't met her in person yet!"

"What about the Wellington family?" Evelyn asked coldly.

"They're in the same boat."

"Good, then we're not behind. We're still on the same starting line as the Wellington family."

"But it's not just us and the Wellington family competing! I heard at least ten high-end hotels are vying for Ada's wedding hosting rights."

"In the hotel business, the Wellington and Taylor families are the benchmarks. Ada is so particular that those small brands can't meet her standards."

Evelyn took a bite of her sandwich, squinting her clever eyes. "Keep in touch with her team. We need to show our sincerity. Ada has a domestic schedule early next month. I'll meet her in person and finalize this. Let the Wellington family give up all hope!"

The Rolls-Royce pulled over steadily at the courthouse entrance, drawing envious glances from everyone around.

Evelyn, sitting in the back seat, glanced at her watch. It was already 9 AM.

"Edward didn't even come early," William sneered. "Typical CEO, always putting on airs."

"Let him be," Evelyn said softly through the privacy screen. "I've waited for him too many times in this life. This is the last time, so waiting a bit longer doesn't matter."

Looking back, she felt her past self was pathetically humble. She only realized now that to love others, you must first love yourself.

After waiting another half hour, just as Evelyn's patience was wearing thin, a taxi stopped at the courthouse entrance.

She could hardly believe Edward got out of the taxi.

"Edward took a taxi? Is gas so expensive now that he can't afford to drive his Maybach?" William's eyes widened.

"Maybe he wanted to keep a low profile. After all, divorce isn't exactly a glorious thing for him."

Evelyn yawned, getting out of the car with William.

Today, Edward was dressed as usual in his favorite wide-collared black suit with fine gray stripes, a misty blue shirt, and a dark tie. He was cold, meticulous, and self-controlled, just like his personality.

Edward's appearance caused a small stir, with the girls looking excited. If their boyfriends weren't around, they might have screamed.

And when Evelyn walked confidently and gracefully towards Edward, all the men couldn't hide their excitement!

"Wow, look at her skin, it's as clear as a peeled egg. Is that real skin?"

"She seems to be makeup-free. Her dress is beautiful! Tell me the price so I can give up!"

"Just good makeup skills, making it look real!"

"That means she has good skin! No one else could pull off that look!"

These young people didn't even recognize that the incredibly handsome man was Edward, the CEO of the Wellington Group.

The taxi further concealed his identity.

Evelyn stood in front of him, her expression cold.

"Got held up on the way, I'm late."

Edward was the first to speak, his thin lips moving slightly before he added in a deep voice, "Sorry."
