Chapter 312 Suddenly, Edward Appeared

Nancy's sudden return gave the entire Taylor family a huge surprise!

Donna, as Nancy's biological mother, has always managed her emotions well. For decades, hardly anyone had seen her cry. Although she was thrilled and excited to see Nancy, she only had slightly reddened eyes.

But Joyce and Susan couldn't hold back and hugged Nancy, crying together.

"Alright, alright! Have you hugged enough?" Charlie stood next to them, his handsome face full of resentment. "It's my turn now!"

Everyone fell silent.

Joyce and Susan reluctantly let go.

Charlie, quick as lightning, immediately rushed over, hugging Nancy tightly. "Nancy! I missed you so much! I thought you had no heart, that you forgot about me after getting married. You didn't even come home to visit!"

Everyone fell silent again.

"Dad, how could I forget about you? I'm here to see you now, aren't I?" Nancy patted Charlie's back like comforting a child, softly reassuring him, "I've been so busy lately. Wade is at a critical stage right now, and I've been swamped every day helping him campaign. I only messaged him after I got on the plane this time. Dad, I've always been thinking about you. Please don't be mad, okay? I brought you a gift. You'll love it."

Everyone felt a pang of sympathy for Nancy.

Back then, against Charlie's wishes, she married Wade, a congressman from Aurora Isle who was ten years older than her. She moved to a foreign country for love, rarely seeing her family.

Unexpectedly, Nancy shone brightly in another country, becoming an inspirational woman with immense personal charm. Besides the queen of Aurora Isle's royal family, she was the second most admired and beloved woman elected by the citizens of Aurora Isle.

Even Evelyn couldn't compare to her. Thinking about having such an amazing sister, was enough to make Evelyn smile in her dream!

"Where's the gift? Where is it?" Charlie finally held back his tears, asking curiously.

"I ran into Hubert when I arrived, so I already gave him the gift, along with the jewelry I prepared for Joyce," Nancy looked gently at Joyce and said, "Happy birthday, Joyce."

Looking gently at Joyce, Nancy said, "Happy birthday, Joyce."

"Nancy, your return is the best gift for me," Joyce's eyes welled up again. People with delicate emotions always tend to cry.

"And Wade? Didn't he send anything?" Charlie raised an eyebrow, always having an issue with Wade.

"Dad, that's enough," Evelyn propped her chin on her hand, looking at Charlie with disdain.

"Didn't Simon say he'd come over after finishing work? It's so late, why isn't he here yet?" Thinking about it, Evelyn asked.

Landon glanced at his watch, "I'll call him and ask."

At this moment, at the intersection not far from KS WORLD.

Betty was driving her pink Ferrari supercar, talking on the phone with a Bluetooth headset while waiting for the light to change, "Get me the design drawings for the fashion week display as soon as possible. If the person in charge over there causes trouble again, I will permanently cancel our collaboration with them! If they want to hold an exhibition at Mugden in the future, don't blame me for being ruthless and making things difficult for them!"

The light turned green, and Betty, filled with frustration, floored the gas pedal.

The Ferrari shot out like a pink lightning bolt.

Just then, a low-key sedan came speeding from the opposite direction. One was turning left, the other right, both at high speed!

"Oh no!" Betty, distracted by the call, didn't notice the black sedan. Seeing they were about to collide, she slammed on the brakes, causing the tires to screech and spark on the asphalt!

The other car also realized the danger and braked hard, the sound piercing!

Betty's body jolted violently inside the car, and the airbag deployed, hitting her face directly!

Fortunately, the windshield only cracked and didn't shatter, or she might have been seriously injured!

"Damn it!" Betty opened the car door, holding her neck in anger as she got out.

Her globally limited edition supercar had its front end completely wrecked!

"My car! Damn it!" Betty's meticulously styled hair was messed up, but she didn't care. She only felt heartbroken for her car!

The car she collided with was also in terrible shape, with the hood bent up and thick white smoke billowing from the engine.

Simon got out of the car, coughing from the smoke.

"Do you even know how to drive? You saw my car coming and still crashed into it?" Betty, seeing that she was going to be late for the birthday party and that her car was totaled, was about to lose her temper.

But then, when she saw Simon's handsome face and his tall, elegant figure in a black suit, she was at a loss for words, her big eyes sparkling wildly.

Betty stared intently at Simon as he walked towards her, her heart racing.

Wait a minute! Why does this face look familiar? It seems like I've seen it somewhere before.

"Lady, I do know how to drive," Simon twisted his slightly sore neck, frowning in irritation. "But no matter how well I drive, I can't prevent someone from crashing into my car."

"You! Who crashed into you? You hit me!" Betty glared at him, stomping her sharp high heels. "Why are you driving a black car at night? You scared me to death!"

Simon's eyes held a hint of amusement. "Which law says you can't drive at night? But the law does say you can't talk on the phone while driving, and you shouldn't wear high heels."

Betty's toes curled inside her high heels, feeling a bit guilty, "But you crossed the solid line while turning, so it's your fault!"

"Whether it's my fault or not, the traffic police will decide. But I don't have time to call them now. You do it; I'm in a hurry," With that, Simon pulled out his wallet, handing her a business card. "This has my phone number and my office address. Let me know the result, and we'll handle it accordingly."

"What kind of attitude is that? Do you think you can just leave this mess for me to deal with? I'm in a hurry too!" Betty was very dissatisfied with Simon's domineering and irresponsible attitude. She forcefully threw the business card back at him. "Who are you trying to fool with a lousy business card? How do I know you're not a scammer?"

"A scammer?" Simon laughed in exasperation, finding Betty with her strange hairstyle both troublesome and unreasonable. "If I'm a scammer, then there are no good people left in this world. I'm leaving."

Betty's eyes reddened with anger, and she grabbed Simon's arm, "I don't care! You wrecked the car I just bought this month. You have to give me an explanation!"

"You should have said so earlier," Simon, eager to get to the party, had no patience to argue with her. He pulled out a bank card from his wallet and casually handed it to her. "Take it and get the car fixed. No password."

Betty stared at the bank card, feeling a surge of anger and humiliation, "My car is a globally limited edition Ferrari, and now it's wrecked. Do you want me to take money to fix it? What are you thinking?"

"Then take the money and buy a new one. It's enough," Simon was very punctual and didn't let anything delay his schedule, especially when it involved family. His eyes turned cold as he pried Betty's fingers off one by one and quickly pulled his arm away from her grasp.

Just as Simon was about to turn around, he suddenly felt his breath catch!

Betty had grabbed Simon's dark blue tie, wrapping it around her fingers, and yanked it hard!

Their bodies were suddenly very close, their noses almost touching.

Simon's pupils contracted, his breathing deepened, and he was entangled in the breath Betty exhaled onto his face.

Other than Evelyn, when had he ever been this close to a woman?

Under Betty's fiery red dress, her heaving chest brushed against his shirt.

"What are you doing?" Simon's voice had a slight rasp.

Betty sneered, pulling out a bank card from somewhere and holding it between her slender fingers. She tapped Simon's slightly flushed cheek with the card, "I have plenty of money too, enough to keep you until you retire!"

Simon's clear eyes widened, his heartbeat inexplicably quickening, his mind going blank for a moment.

"Don't think you're all that just because you have money. My mentor is the daughter of a billionaire and an internationally renowned designer, wealthier than you can imagine. But she doesn't act like you!" Betty continued.

Simon was puzzled.

Why does that sound familiar?

With that, Betty threw the bank card onto his leather shoe, raised her chin arrogantly, and walked back to her car, driving away in the wrecked Ferrari.

Simon watched the pink car disappear into the night, standing there in a daze for a moment before curling his lips into a smile, "Pink, what terrible taste."
