Chapter 317 A Gift from Gilbert

"Mom, please, calm down."

Debra walked over cautiously and slowly sat next to Tiffany, comforting her, "I feel heartbroken seeing you so angry. Mom. Tell me, what can I do to help you vent your anger?"

"I want Joyce dead, can you do that?" Tiffany hissed through gritted teeth.

Hearing that, Debra was at a loss for words.

"How can that Joyce be more glamorous than me?" Tiffany cursed, infuriated.

The better Joyce's life was, the more it made her look like a joke!

"Mom, just being angry here won't help. We need to think of a way to bring Joyce down a notch and ruin her birthday party!" Debra lightly shook Tiffany's arm, extremely anxious.

Gritting her teeth, Tiffany picked up her phone, and dialed a number, then got up and walked to the window to make a call.

"Miss Reed, it's been a long time since you contacted me. How have you been these years?" A hoarse male voice came from the other end, sounding like a middle-aged man.

"Truth be told, my situation now is worse than death!" Tiffany said, choking up, on the verge of tears.

"Is it because of that woman named Joyce?" The man on the other end of the line asked.

"Who else could it be?" Tiffany said.

"Miss Reed, you were kind to me back then, and I will never forget your kindness. Tell me, how can I help you?" The man asked.

Tiffany sobbed lightly, but her eyes showed a sinister smile.

The evening gown designed by Sharon added a lot of color to the birthday party the next segment was to showcase the birthday gifts.

Everyone was eagerly anticipating that Charlie might give a luxurious house or jewelry to Joyce as a gift, but the result was unexpected.

Charlie gave Joyce a charity foundation named after her, dedicated to caring for disabled children!

Not only that, but she was also the chairperson of this charity foundation!

Seeing that, Evelyn couldn't help but show a gratified smile.

The Taylor Family members, except her and Charlie, had no concept of money and were not interested in gold and jewelry.

Compared to diamonds, Charlie's charity foundation was a gift that truly touched Joyce's heart because she had been secretly volunteering at orphanages and using her own money to help children in need over the years.

She had kept this a secret from her family, thinking Charlie didn't know.

But to her surprise, Charlie had known all along and had prepared everything for her, just waiting to give her a big surprise on this day!

"Joyce, I know you've always been passionate about charity work. Over the years, you've anonymously helped many children at the orphanage. After much thought, I decided this gift would be the most meaningful to you." Charlie held Joyce's hand tightly, his gaze filled with tender affection.

"Charlie, so you knew all along." Joyce's eyes were brimming with tears.

"It's your birthday, don't cry, Joyce." Charlie smiled and gently wiped her tears away, looking at her with tenderness.

The next second, he announced to everyone, "Since the charity foundation has been established, let me start it off well. I will first inject one hundred million dollars into the foundation for charitable causes, and I hope everyone will support the Joyce Charity Foundation in the future! On behalf of KnightSpear Group, I would like to thank everyone here!" Charlie's gaze swept across the audience, his commanding presence impossible to ignore.

Instantly, thunderous applause erupted!

"Although it's not a luxurious house or jewelry, starting with a hundred million dollars for the charity foundation has already shown that Mr. Taylor is cherishing Joyce."

"Typical wealthy family gifts are nothing special, but Mr. Taylor's gift is creative and meaningful! This not only gives Joyce a good reputation but also boosts the Taylor Family's image, a win-win situation!"

The Taylor Family members were all clapping wildly, overjoyed.

Jennifer looked at Joyce on stage, her eyes filled with tears of happiness, and suddenly couldn't help but lower her head and cry quietly.

"Jennifer?"

Donna, who was sitting next to Jennifer, sensitively noticed her tears. She quickly grabbed a tissue from under the table and handed it to her, asking softly, "Why are you crying?"

"I'm fine." Jennifer quickly took the tissue to wipe her tears, her voice trembling. "I'm just happy for Mom."

Donna felt a warm torrent surge in her heart and gently stroked Jennifer's hair, murmuring, "Of course, you should be happy."

"I always thought that Dad didn't care about Mom at all."

Jennifer was overwhelmed with emotions tonight, feeling a mix of sentiments as she continued, "And I'm the least accomplished of my Dad's daughters. Your daughter is the future First Lady of Aurora Isle, and my eighth sister is not only a top figure in the design world but also helps Dad manage the hotel. But, I can't do anything. I only drag the family down."

"Jennifer, don't think like that." Donna felt a pang in her heart and hugged Jennifer around the waist, comforting, "Your father has told us privately more than once that he just wants you to live a happy and free life. And, your father loves you and your mother very much. Just because he doesn't say it doesn't mean he doesn't feel it. We have to look at a person's actions, right?"

Hearing this, Jennifer obediently leaned on Donna's shoulder, nodding with tears in her eyes.

Next, several important guests presented their gifts, each one very precious!

"The next gift is from Gilbert of the Alexander Group!" As soon as the emcee finished speaking, a spotlight shone on Gilbert.

Everyone instinctively looked toward the Taylor Family's table.

Even Evelyn turned her head, curiously looking at the calm and composed Gilbert.

"Gilbert prepared a gift on his own?" Randy's eyes darkened, and he gritted his teeth, saying, "He's always trying to curry favor with the Taylor Family!"

"What's the point?" Calvin leisurely sipped his red wine, his eyes full of disdain. "Gilbert has always been a smart aleck but doesn't understand that extremes can lead to the opposite effect. He might win Evelyn's favor this way, but he doesn't realize he's already deeply offended Dad. In the end, it's Dad who calls the shots in our family."

Randy's eyes flickered, and the next second, he indeed saw Elbert's sullen face.

His jawline tightened as he looked in Gilbert's direction.

Suddenly, when he saw Angela, his pupils dilated, and his lips twitched!

The emcee pushed Gilbert's gift onto the stage, and everyone's eyes followed.

Joyce hesitated and looked at Charlie.

Gilbert said, "It's a small token of my appreciation, go ahead and unveil it."

Charlie wrapped his arm around Joyce's waist and together they lifted the cloth.

Instantly, Charlie's expression changed, and he sharply glanced in Gilbert's direction without showing any emotion.

The guests were amazed and praised the birthday gift, their reactions no less than when they saw the dress designed by Sharon!

Evelyn's eyebrows furrowed when she saw the gift, a bit shocked.

It was a Victorian-era ceramic artwork!

This antique could be a treasure in the National Museum, with a starting price of six million dollars at auction!

In Evelyn's eyes, Gilbert giving such a precious gift to Joyce in this setting, and one more valuable than Elbert's gift was meant to embarrass Elbert!

Gilbert and Joyce had a casual relationship, having barely met a few times, so there was no need to go to such lengths. So rather than saying it was a gift for Joyce, it was more like an opportunity to curry favor with Charlie.

Thinking this, Evelyn pursed her lips and lightly shook her head.

Just as she inadvertently glanced to the right, she suddenly froze.

She found that Edward was nowhere to be seen!

Evelyn's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly turned around, looking everywhere for that handsome and strong figure.

At this moment, the emcee announced loudly, "The next gift is from Edward, the president of the Wellington Group!"
