Chapter 177 Lost? Are You Kidding!

In three days, Ada and her team would arrive in Mugden. But today, William got some bad news from her agent. Ada had decided to go to the Wellington Group's welcome banquet eventually!

In the KS WORLD hotel's rec room:

William stormed in, finding Evelyn casually playing pool with Peter. They were both pros, sinking every shot.

"Evelyn! Bad news!" William yelled, panicked.

"Match point!" Evelyn signaled for silence.

This shot was crucial for tonight's dinner, so she couldn't mess it up.

William was losing it but didn't dare rush her. Nothing could interrupt Evelyn's fun.

With two balls left, Evelyn nailed her shots, finishing with flair and confidence.

"Yes!" She celebrated with a victory gesture.

Peter, sitting by the table, smiled, unfazed by his loss. "Evelyn, your pool skills are getting better."

Leaning on her cue, Evelyn playfully stuck out her tongue. "Thanks to your teaching."

She wore a red satin spaghetti strap dress, and after a few shots, one strap slipped down, revealing her shoulder, adding to her allure.

William's eyes heated up, and he swallowed hard.

Peter noticed William's gaze and his eyes darkened. He walked over, hooked the strap back onto her shoulder, and coughed lightly. "Even when having fun, be mindful. It's fine with me, but not in front of other men."

He shot William a meaningful look. Years as a detective had made his gaze sharp.

Under Peter's scrutiny, William felt a chill, sensing his thoughts were exposed. He quickly looked away.

"Got it, Peter. William's not an outsider, and I didn't expose anything. You're too cautious," Evelyn said sweetly.

Peter raised an eyebrow but didn't scold her.

"William, what's up?" Evelyn asked, picking up a glass of red wine and leaning against the pool table, looking casual.

"Evelyn, Ada's confirmed she's going to the Wellington Group's welcome banquet. She's ditched us!" William said, his mouth dry.

Evelyn sipped her wine. "Got it, very good."

"Very good? Edward snatched our guest, and you say 'very good'?" William's eyes widened in shock.

"Let me guess, in the next three days, the Wellington Group will invite a bunch of celebrities and make a big splash. Having an international superstar visit their hotel during her first trip to Mugden is a huge draw, basically free advertising. It also boosts their hotel's status in Mugden and nationwide," Evelyn said, her eyes sparkling as she swirled her wine.

"So Ada choosing the Wellington Group is a huge loss for us at KS!" William said, frustrated.

"Smooth sailing is boring," Evelyn smiled, more intoxicating than her wine. "I like rising from the ashes, turning the tide. That's exciting."

William's heart skipped a beat. Evelyn's mischievous smile was stunning.

"Evelyn, you already have a plan, don't you?" Peter asked, smiling.

Evelyn nodded. "William, prepare for the banquet as usual."

"Prepare as usual? The main guest isn't coming. What's the point?" William felt defeated, his expression dejected.

Evelyn's smile was enigmatic. "Who said it's pointless? The game's not over yet."

Outside the KS WORLD hotel:

Bart was hiding in a black Porsche, ordered to monitor Evelyn. He was almost falling asleep when he saw William come out, looking upset.

Bart, who had been suffering along with Edward, felt a sense of satisfaction seeing William's expression.

'Looks like they know Edward got Ada,' he thought.

A few seconds later, Evelyn walked out with another man.

Bart picked up his binoculars, rubbed his eyes, and looked hard. 'It is indeed a man!'

"Let's go, I'll take you to dinner!" Peter wrapped his arm around Evelyn's shoulder.

Evelyn and Peter got into the car, arm in arm.

Bart nervously swallowed, not even knowing how he put down the binoculars. He bit his lip, frantically took photos, and shakily sent a message to Edward.

Bart: [Edward! Bad news!]

Bart: [Mrs. Wellington has a new lover who looks like a gigolo!]
