Chapter 504 The Caged Sparrow Can't Compete with the Eagle

The arrival of the Wilson family made the atmosphere a bit more subtle.

Patrick and the members of the Clark family were familiar with them. Although they were all from noble families and didn't need to overly flatter each other, their attitude towards the Wilson family was notably more attentive compared to others.

Only Edward sat beside Patrick like a proud and handsome sculpture, his eyes filled with intense affection as he gazed at the one he loved.

At this moment, Charlie was talking to Evelyn, and the two were having a private conversation. Evelyn looked serious and was listening intently.

She didn't notice Edward's burning gaze, which was almost piercing through her.

Suddenly, Edward's handsome face turned cold and indifferent.

Gilbert picked up a champagne glass, leaned forward, and completely blocked Edward's line of sight.

The next second, he slowly turned his face towards Edward, raised his champagne glass with a casual, mocking smile.

Edward's blood seemed to freeze in his veins, his face turned grim, and he almost snapped the stem of the glass in his hand!

Gilbert raised an eyebrow, took a leisurely sip of his drink, his eyes and smile even more provocative!

Edward's breath became stifled, and he completely broke the stem of the glass, the cup falling to the ground and spilling champagne all over him.

"Ah! Edward! Your clothes are dirty!"

Jessica's full attention was on Edward, and she quickly approached him.

Then, she actually knelt down and took out a handkerchief to humbly wipe the water stains off Edward's trousers!

Everyone was shocked.

How could the Clark family act so disregarding of their status!

Maurice and Sophia's faces twisted with anger, while Neil, seeing his niece being made a laughingstock, didn't feel ashamed but instead watched the scene with amusement, unable to suppress his laughter.

And this snicker was caught by Eric, whose eyes were filled with displeasure.

However, he didn't intend to stop Jessica.

In his view, Edward should take this opportunity to embarrass Jessica, so she would remember not to use despicable means to covet a married man!

"Eric!" Molly tugged at his sleeve and called softly.

"Hmm? What's wrong?" Eric asked gently, looking down.

"I don't know why, but I feel uncomfortable looking at Neil," Molly, straightforward and unable to hide her thoughts, said what was on her mind.

Although she lowered her voice, Neil still heard it and immediately leaned in to listen.

"Then don't look at him. Seeing too much filth is bad for your eyes," Eric said loudly, wrapping his arm around Molly's waist.

Neil's anger surged, his lungs aching with fury!

But he couldn't show it, or it would seem like he was shamelessly eavesdropping on a couple's conversation.

"Mmm." Molly quickly closed her eyes, her expression adorably cute.

Eric affectionately ruffled her soft hair and kissed her cheek, "In the future, we will have many beautiful babies. Seeing too much filth affects their looks."Molly blushed deeply, her face like a precious gem.

Neil choked on his drink, his face turning red!

Evelyn, seeing Jessica trying to touch her man, narrowed her beautiful eyes, anger boiling in her chest, and leaned forward.

Actually, she didn't really intend to rush over; she wasn't that shameless.

She was just momentarily emotional, her body somewhat out of control.

"Evelyn, what are you doing?"

Evelyn's shoulder felt heavy, and she suddenly looked up.

She met Charlie's stern and dark gaze, "You don't intend to imitate Jessica and wipe the water stains off Edward in front of everyone, do you?"

"Are you the same as Jessica, lowering your status? Don't make me look down on you, don't disgrace the Taylor family!"

Evelyn tightly pressed her lips together, her rosy lips turning white!

Gilbert heard everything clearly, his lips curling darkly as he elegantly sipped his champagne.

Just as Jessica's hand was about to touch Edward, he suddenly stood up, bringing a chill with him.

"Ah!"

Jessica stumbled and fell to the ground in a mess!

The bodyguards hurriedly helped her up. People in the back who hadn't noticed now all turned their attention to her, making it even more embarrassing.

"Jessica, please have some self-respect." Edward coldly glanced at her, a chilling aura surrounding him.

Evelyn remained expressionless, but her rosy lips curved slightly, her heart sweet.

In this world, there was probably no other man who could give her as much security as Edward.

Everyone pursed their lips, trying hard not to laugh, which made Jessica even more furious!

Maurice was so angry that he held his forehead, but he couldn't get mad at Edward.

After all, it was Jessica who had been trying to please Edward from the beginning, and everyone saw it.

"The Clark family's upbringing is really disappointing. If it were my daughter, I'd beat her ten times a day."

Elbert whispered to Charlie, "Evelyn is elegant and classy. How can a daughter from a nouveau riche family like the Clarks compare to a noble lady like Evelyn?"

"Hmph, noble indeed. A lady? Don't praise her too much; she's quite mischievous."

Charlie glanced at Evelyn, "How many times did we have to repair the glass in our house because of Evelyn when she was little? You should know that well."

Evelyn pouted, "Charlie, do you have to bring up childhood stuff to mock me?"

"What mischief? That's called being lively! I've always thought Evelyn was unique since she was a child, and I like her very much!"

"So what if a few pieces of glass were broken? As long as Evelyn is happy, she can knock down the whole house, and we'll just rebuild it!" Elbert was very fond of Evelyn's personality.

Edward, followed by Bart, temporarily left to change his clothes.

At this moment, Tiffany couldn't even straighten her back, her whole body curled up and trembling.

Things were not looking good; she was enduring extreme pain, and it was fortunate she hadn't drunk much water, or she would have had diarrhea!

Since entering the venue, Evelyn had been secretly observing Tiffany.

Sure enough, everything was as Percy had predicted. Given her current physical condition, it was already very difficult for Tiffany to participate in such long outdoor events.

Evelyn's intelligent and lively eyes curved as she suddenly picked up a champagne glass and stood up, facing the guests.

"Everyone, I am very pleased to be here with you all, sharing in this grand event. Today, not only do I see elders and friends whom I deeply respect, but I also see the legendary figures of the Mythorica top financial group, Gavin and Sawyer. I am both surprised and honored."

Evelyn smiled charmingly, raising her glass to Gavin and Sawyer, her words fluent and pleasant, "Here, I toast to both of you, welcoming you to Mugden."

With that, she brought the glass to her red lips and drank the wine in one go.

Among all the women of the four major families, and even nationwide, Evelyn was undoubtedly a dazzling gem.

From the moment she entered, Sawyer had been deeply attracted to the beautiful and noble Evelyn, unable to take his eyes off her.

Debra glared at Evelyn with disdain, muttering, "Bitch, do you think you're so famous? Toasting with the nobles of the Wilson family, do they even know who you are?"

Unexpectedly, before she finished speaking.

Gavin nodded in satisfaction, raised his glass to Evelyn, and said in a cheerful tone, "Alexa, I didn't expect you to be the daughter of the KnightSpear Group's chairman. You really surprise me."

"This isn't the first time we've met, so there's no need to be so formal."

Everyone was stunned!

Patrick's pupils widened in shock, not expecting Evelyn to have connections with the top business magnates of Mythorica!

The more he thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt.

When Evelyn married into their Wellington family, she never revealed her real name, nor did she ever show her true identity or help the Wellington family.

Now, not only did she repeatedly cause trouble for the Wellington Group, but she also seemed to have transformed, becoming radiant and no longer hesitant to showcase her talents.

Was Evelyn playing them? She didn't even have the basic honesty!

"Gavin, I'm really touched that you remember me." Evelyn smiled warmly.

Sawyer looked at his father in amazement, "You said she's the famous jewelry designer Alexa? When did you meet her, and why didn't I know?"

"Two years ago, for your mother's birthday, I wanted to give her a blue diamond necklace as a gift. After much effort, I contacted Alexa, who personally crafted the birthday gift for your mother," Gavin explained with a smile.

"Oh! The necklace that mother wears to every important occasion? She loves it!"

"Yes, that's the one."

Gavin nodded and then looked at Evelyn, "Thank you very much, Alexa. Oh, I should call you Evelyn now."

"It's an honor that you like the necklace." Evelyn remained humble, her smile delightful.

Charlie watched with a pleased smile.

Evelyn usually acted like a wild horse, rebellious and seemingly indifferent to anyone. But in critical moments, she was reliable and handled things well.

Jessica and Debra, seeing Evelyn once again garnering strong attention, were furious, their eyes red with envy, but they were helpless!

In the face of absolute talent, they were left in the dust.

A caged sparrow could never compete with an eagle!

"Evelyn, it's a pleasure to meet you!" Sawyer boldly walked up to Evelyn, his eyes filled with admiration and affection, "Meeting you here shows that we are destined. How about we drink to this fate?"

Evelyn's beautiful eyes narrowed slightly, a cold smile in her heart.

Gilbert's expression darkened, finally unable to tolerate Sawyer any longer, and he was about to stand up.

A tall, cold figure reached Evelyn's side before him, standing in front of her.

It was Edward!

Gilbert's pale, handsome face tightened, staring at Edward's expressionless face with a chilling gaze.

"Edward!" Evelyn looked at the man's tall back, a warm feeling rising in her heart.

"Gathering here not only shows the fate between Sawyer and Evelyn but also indicates our connection with you two."

As he spoke, Edward gestured, and a waiter immediately brought him a glass of champagne.

He picked up the glass, his thin lips slightly raised, a smile that didn't reach his eyes, "Evelyn is a lady and can't handle much alcohol. If you don't mind, Sawyer, let me drink with you on her behalf."
