Chapter 497 Ms. Taylor Wins This Round!

Maurice suddenly stopped, looked around, and asked in surprise, "Where's Eric? Why didn't he come?"

"How could Eric not come? It's just that something came up, so he might be a bit late," Sophia quickly explained for Eric.

"Not sure if something came up or if someone tripped him up," Neil joked half-seriously.

"Someone? Who?" Maurice frowned.

"Who else? Tiffany's second daughter, Molly."

Jessica chimed in, pretending to be casual, "Lately, Eric hasn't even been coming home. He's set up a little nest with Miss Wellington, and they're inseparable. Last time when Mom wasn't feeling well and went to the hospital, I was the one who accompanied her."

"Jessica, say less," Sophia softly scolded from the side.

She wasn't speaking up for Molly, but was worried Maurice would hold a grudge against Eric.

Neil laughed, "Miss Wellington must be quite the beauty. I know Eric; he's never been this serious about anyone. It seems she's really captured his heart."

"Tiffany's daughter, capturing Eric's heart? What a joke!"

Maurice slammed his cane on the ground, extremely angry.

Jessica's eyes flashed with a dark smile.

No matter how much Eric loved Molly or wanted to marry her, as long as she was Tiffany's daughter, she could forget about entering the Clark family!

At that moment, the reporters on both sides exclaimed!

"Mr. Wellington is here!"

"It's really Edward! Edward is here!"

Everyone turned their attention, and the sound of camera shutters filled the air.

Jessica was thrilled, her eyes glowing with anticipation as she looked towards the other end of the red carpet.

Edward appeared alone in a black suit, his handsome face cold and indifferent, like a snow-capped mountain. His starry eyes exuded a chilling aura, and his every move carried the imposing presence of a ruler, commanding respect.

This cold demeanor had captivated and driven many women crazy, including Jessica.

"Jessica, let's go. What are you standing there for?" Sophia gently tugged Jessica, urging her in a low voice.

"Mom, he's so handsome."

Jessica stared at Edward, almost drooling, "Edward, I really like Edward. I want to be his woman."

That night, in the hotel, in the darkness, she had the fortune of holding him, completely naked.

Even through the fabric of his suit, she could feel his tight, perfect, and highly sensual muscles. Her entire body tingled, and her mind went blank.

Since that night, she had fantasized countless times about being under Edward, imagining those blush-inducing scenes.

She wanted him so badly, she was going crazy!

"Pull yourself together. Don't make a fool of yourself in front of others. Be more reserved," Sophia scolded.

"Reserved? What's the use of being reserved? If I can have him, I don't care about shame!" Jessica muttered fiercely, her eyes full of desire.

Sophia frowned, not quite hearing her, "Jessica, what are you mumbling about?"

"Mom, you go in first. I want to wait here for Edward. I want to go in with him."

Jessica was cunning; she wouldn't miss any chance to be seen with Edward.

If she entered with Edward, it would surely cause a media frenzy and make all the women envious.

Not only that, but she might also be mistaken for Edward's date!

Edward had always attended events alone, never bringing a date. Even during his three-year marriage to Evelyn, he never brought his wife to public events.

If she could seize this opportunity, it would prove to everyone that she was special to Edward.

What a man said didn't matter; what mattered was what he did!

If this misunderstanding took root, it would surely create a rift between him and Evelyn, making it easier for her to take advantage.

Jessica was plotting as she watched Edward walk towards her.

Her heart raced, and her cheeks flushed, "Edward."

However, Edward remained as expressionless as ever, his handsome brows even colder.

He seemed to be looking at her, but his gaze actually passed over her, looking far beyond.

He was treating her like she was invisible!

Jessica gritted her teeth, unwillingly lifting her dress to walk towards him.

Suddenly, someone in the crowd shouted, "The Taylor family is here!"

Edward instantly seemed to come alive, turning around with excitement and anticipation.

A top-of-the-line extended Lincoln stopped in the center of the red carpet.

The door opened, and Landon, dressed in morning attire, gracefully stepped out first, then gentlemanly took Evelyn's extended hand, helping his princess into the spotlight.

Even though everyone knew they were siblings, the women in the crowd couldn't help but scream in excitement!

Edward felt the world go silent, as if everything else disappeared.

In his passionate eyes, there was only his Evelyn.

He stared at them, his heart aching with bitterness.

When would he be able to openly hold her hand and show the world that they belonged to each other?

Today, Evelyn's outfit was stunning. She usually wore bold red lips and sharp, tailored suits. But this time, she wore a blue chiffon gown with a matching floral hat, looking elegant and charming, like a noble lady.

She was as bright as the blue sky, her slightly curved eyes sparkling with warmth and friendliness.

"So beautiful! So elegant!" The reporters exclaimed as they watched Evelyn walk by.

"Mr. Taylor and Ms. Taylor's outfits are perfect for the horse race. It shows the Taylor family's experience and attention to detail. Look at Debra and Miss Clark; their dresses are dragging and completely out of place for the event!"

"Exactly! The difference is clear. Ms. Taylor wins this round!"

These words reached Jessica's ears, making her furious!

She had spent half a month carefully selecting her outfit, only to be outshone by Evelyn!

What made it worse was that Edward, ignoring everything else, was now walking towards Evelyn.
