Chapter 361 Kimberly

Late at night

Evelyn enjoyed a comfortable hot bath, changed into a peach-pink silk robe, wrapped her hair in a towel, and with a face still steaming, hummed a tune as she walked down the stairs.

Despite everything that had happened recently, all the troubles, and the lack of anything to be happy about, she knew that one couldn't always be unlucky.

Moreover, Evelyn was the daughter of the Taylor family. There was nothing she couldn't accomplish if she set her mind to it. If she wanted to be president, she would find a way to become one.

Except for Edward.

Thinking of Edward made Evelyn's chest tighten.

She thought that Edward had truly fallen in love with her by now. Deep down, she had even started to involuntarily get closer to and accept him.

However, reality had given her a resounding slap in the face.

The more Evelyn thought about it, the angrier she became, and her previously upturned lips gradually drooped.

"Evelyn, I just made some calming and beautifying soup. Have a little? It won't make you gain weight."

William, dressed in a suit and apron, stood in the living room, smiling at Evelyn.

Seeing the sweat on his forehead from his efforts, Evelyn felt a pang of guilt for some reason and said lightly, "William, you're my secretary, not my nanny. You don't need to do this in the future.

"I'll have Aunt Donna send a servant from Hameen's house to cook for me. You've worked hard all day, and I appreciate your kindness."

"Evelyn, Mr. Taylor assigned me to you not only to help with work but also to take care of your daily needs. It's part of my job. It's always been this way," William said anxiously, fearing that Evelyn might eventually not need him as her secretary.

Evelyn shook her head, "I told you last time, you should focus on someone who deserves it, like Jennifer."

William clenched his fingers, feeling a pang in his heart.

"You already have enough work to do for me. Don't get distracted by these trivial matters. Just be good to Jennifer. You might neglect her if you divide your attention," Evelyn advised kindly, genuinely concerned for Jennifer's happiness.

"Evelyn, about Jennifer..."

"William, has there been any news from the hospital?" Evelyn didn't want to hear his explanation; she wasn't in the mood to care about personal feelings right now.

She just wanted to deal with Tiffany, to ruin her.

William hesitated, then pressed his lips together, "Our informant at the hospital reported that, as you predicted, Tiffany and Patrick had a big fight. Patrick didn't stay at the hospital with Tiffany afterward and hasn't been seen there for the past two days.

"Congratulations, Evelyn. It seems you've successfully driven a wedge between them."

"Once the seed of doubt is planted, Tiffany will never be seen as innocent in Patrick's eyes again. Tiffany's days at Riverside Villa will only get more and more unbearable."

Evelyn sneered, her eyes cold, "Only by driving a wedge between them and constantly putting pressure on Tiffany will that vicious woman reveal her true colors."

"Also, as per your instructions, I investigated Tiffany's daily routine. She goes for cosmetic treatments every week and has a close relationship with her private plastic surgeon, a rather handsome man in his early forties." William's words carried a hint of implication.

"Got it."

Evelyn crossed her slender arms and clicked her tongue, "He's already in his forties, definitely not as good as a young guy in every aspect. Tiffany is at the peak of her desires; can someone like him satisfy her?"

William smirked, "I think that poor doctor is the one suffering."

"One's after money, the other's after looks. Neither of them is losing out."

Just then, the doorbell rang.

"Who could be here so late?" William was puzzled.

"William, go answer the door. It's a guest I invited," Evelyn instructed calmly and confidently.

A guest? Evelyn hadn't mentioned any guests coming tonight.

William didn't have time to think much and went to the foyer to open the door.

Outside stood a young woman in her twenties, dressed in simple sportswear and wearing a black baseball cap.

"Who are you?" William asked, startled, as he sized her up.

"I'm Kimberly. I'm a servant at Riverside Villa, and I've been taking care of Molly," Kimberly introduced herself nervously, looking around anxiously.

Realizing she was a servant from Molly's side, William immediately understood.

"Kimberly, I'm sorry I couldn't come to pick you up due to special circumstances. Thank you for coming here yourself."

Evelyn quickly stepped forward, took Kimberly's hand, and personally led her into the living room, "It's cold outside, isn't it? Look at your hands, so cold. Didn't I tell you to take a cab? Don't worry about the fare."

"No need for a cab. I took the bus and then the light rail. It was very convenient," Kimberly replied quickly, her cheeks red from the cold.

Seeing the once-noble Evelyn show such concern for her, Kimberly's lips trembled with unspeakable emotion.

Evelyn thought about the long walk from the light rail station to her villa in the cold wind and felt a pang of pain in her heart.

She knew Kimberly was still reluctant to spend money.

William quickly made Kimberly a cup of hot tea and considerately brought her a hand warmer.
