Chapter 470 Threat

Gilbert's gaze was sinister and ruthless, bloodthirsty and fierce, like a demon that had never seen the light of day.

"Don't look at me with those eyes! If it weren't for your cunning and unpredictability, I wouldn't have to deal with you this way!" Sebastian shivered inwardly, gritting his teeth fiercely, "After knowing you for so many years, I've come to understand one thing: you never leave a way out for others. Since that's the case, I have to find my way out!"

"Do you really have the recording?" Gilbert narrowed his eyes slightly, a hint of coldness in his lazy tone.

"So you're scared!" Sebastian smiled smugly, "How could I possibly carry the recording with me? Of course, I put it in a safe place. If you dare to touch me, I guarantee the whole world will hear it the next day!"

"Name your terms," Gilbert's gaze was icy.

When it came to deals, Gilbert never wasted words.

"I want you to prepare a plane to take me and my men out of the country. And I want money, a lot of money! I've helped you deal with two big problems; you can't just give me nothing, right?"

"How much do you want?"

"One billion dollars! Cash into my offshore account! Once I receive the money, I'll give you the recording and disappear from your sight forever!"

Sebastian raised an eyebrow and smiled wickedly, "We've worked together for so many years, and you've gained a lot from me. One billion dollars is just a small amount for you; consider it a breakup fee for our long-term partnership."

One billion dollars? Curtis, standing nearby, was dumbfounded. Sebastian really dared to name his price!

"Alright, deal. I'll transfer it to you within three days."

Unexpectedly, Gilbert agreed without hesitation.

Sebastian immediately felt a bit regretful; he should have asked for more!

"For these three days, I advise you not to wander around Mugden. The Wellington family and the Clark family are probably looking for you everywhere," Gilbert said slowly, taking a sip of red wine.

"No need for your reminder! Just get the money quickly!"

The deal was made, and Curtis saw Sebastian out.

As soon as the door closed, Gilbert's eyes darkened. He tilted the hand holding the wine glass, spilling the red wine onto the luxurious, pure white carpet.

"Old friend, this glass of wine is to see you off."

Soon, Curtis rushed back, fuming, "Mr. Alexander! Are you really going to give him a billion dollars?"

"Yes, of course. If I don't, and this matter reaches Evelyn's ears, what then?" Gilbert, replying in a detached tone, swirled his wine glass. Curtis immediately refilled it for him, "However, even if he gets the money, he has to live to spend it."

Curtis was taken aback, "You mean to kill him to silence him?"

"What else?" Gilbert lightly pushed his gold-rimmed glasses, "Initially, I didn't intend to take his life. But he dared to threaten me with Evelyn and tried to destroy my relationship with her. How can I let him live?"

"If you plan to kill him, why give him the money?" Curtis was puzzled.

"Because only when he gets the money will he leave Mugden. Once he's out of Mugden, it will be safer and more secure to act."

Gilbert's eyes darkened, "For these three days, keep a close watch on Sebastian and his associates. Also, report any movements from the Wellington family and the Clark family immediately. Before I kill Sebastian, he must not fall into the hands of the Clark family, understand?""Understood!"

After a nerve-wracking observation period, Edward's life was finally out of danger, and he left the ICU.

It had been a week since he was rescued.

During these days, Evelyn seemed to have transformed into a plant parasitic on Edward, staying by his side almost every moment, as if leaving him would make her lose the nutrients she needed to survive.

In the morning, she woke up by Edward's bedside. At night, she slept beside him.

Due to his severe coma, Edward could only sustain his life through nutritional fluids. Evelyn, too, had lost her appetite, her face haggard, visibly thinner.

Everyone saw this but could do nothing. They all understood that if Edward didn't wake up soon, she would continue to wither away, until she withered and died.

Tonight, with the help of Landon and Ulysses, Evelyn prepared to give Edward a thorough cleaning.

When they were married, she remembered he loved cleanliness the most. No matter how expensive the suit, he wouldn't wear it a second time if it got even a little dirty. He was always spotless from head to toe.

But Edward didn't know that Evelyn had seen him unkempt and covered in blood on the battlefield. Whether he was a CEO or a soldier, whether he was radiant or fallen into the mud, she had always loved him steadfastly.

His noble status and handsome appearance were his shining points.

But for thirteen years, Evelyn had always loved his pure soul.

Evelyn personally undressed Edward, revealing his strong and muscular body, leaving only a lone pair of underwear.

Landon didn't mind, but Ulysses stared wide-eyed at Edward's erect genitalia, jealousy written all over his face, "Is he really in a coma or faking it?"

As he spoke, he raised his hand to pinch Edward's inner thigh, "No, I have to test him!"

Evelyn quickly grabbed his wrist. "Ulysses, what are you doing?"

"I'm going to pinch him to see if he's really in a coma or just pretending," Ulysses, playful as ever, was eager to try.

"You don't need to test him; his genitalia has always been big, I can vouch for that!" Evelyn blurted out in a panic.

Landon was silent, as well as Ulysses.

Evelyn's face turned red, and she bit her lip, lowering her head to vigorously wipe Edward's arm. Anyone who didn't know better would think she was washing a car.

"Ulysses, why are you looking at Evelyn like that?" Landon was the first to break the awkward silence, lightly coughing into his left hand, "Evelyn and Edward were married for three years. Isn't this normal between a husband and wife?"

"I forgot!"

Before Ulysses could finish, Landon discreetly elbowed him hard in the ribs, making him gasp in pain!

Evelyn, blushing furiously, said, "We've finished cleaning the front; let's clean his back now!"
