Chapter 393: Her Secret

The two of them cuddled on the living room sofa for a while before Eric carried Molly back to the bedroom, helped her undress, and held her as they went to the bathroom to bathe.

"I want to wash myself." Molly wrapped her arms around his neck and voiced her small objection.

"Doing it yourself is tiring. Let me help you." Eric raised an eyebrow and smiled mischievously.

"No, no, it's exhausting to bathe with you. We end up doing a lot of exercise."

"You don't want to exercise with me? You don't like it?" Eric pretended to be annoyed, raising an eyebrow.

"No, I like it," Molly's face turned as red as a spring peach, looking very enticing.

Eric had been so tired that he could barely keep his eyes open, but seeing Molly made him lively again.

They immersed themselves in the steaming hot tub, with Eric holding Molly's slender waist as they made love.

Since being with Eric, Molly had become bolder, and her chest had grown noticeably.

They were surprisingly harmonious in their sexual relationship. Making love with Molly allowed Eric to forget all his troubles and fully immerse himself.

Afterward, Eric carried Molly out of the water, placed her on the bathroom counter with a soft towel underneath, and helped her dry her hair and clean her body.

Molly thoroughly enjoyed being meticulously cared for by Eric. During these moments, she would comfortably squint her eyes and happily wiggle her little feet.

Tonight, Eric wasn't very talkative, not even teasing her much during their lovemaking.

It seemed like he had something on his mind.

"Honey?" Molly called him softly.

Eric snapped out of his daze and immediately asked with a smile, "What's up, babe?"

"Are you in a bad mood? Did something happen?"

Seeing Molly's concern, Eric couldn't hold it in any longer and honestly said, "Yes, it's about Edward and Evelyn."

"Evelyn? What happened to Evelyn? What happened to Edward?" Molly asked worriedly.

Eric pondered for a while, thinking that although they hadn't gotten a marriage license yet, he already considered her his wife and should tell her everything. Besides, she was a woman now, and many things shouldn't be kept from her; she should know some of the complicated relationships.

"Molly, to be specific, it's my fault. Because of me, Edward and Evelyn had a big conflict. I don't know how to make them reconcile."

He then told her everything about Edward getting into trouble and him bringing Evelyn over to take care of Edward.

Molly listened quietly, her eyes sparkling, wanting to say something but hesitating.

"What I did was really thoughtless and rash."

Eric, feeling frustrated, tugged at his hair, becoming more self-critical the more he thought about it. "They never slept together during their marriage, and now that they're divorced, I still tried to bring them together. What was I thinking? This is so unfair to Evelyn. I really messed up!"

"Evelyn and Edward have made love." Molly suddenly blurted out.

Eric was stunned, his eyes widening as he asked, "What do you mean?"

"About two years ago." Molly bit her lip, lowering her eyes as she spoke softly, "One night two years ago, I had insomnia and was wandering around the house when I saw Evelyn go into Edward's room alone. At that time, Edward didn't like Evelyn. They rarely shared a bed and mostly slept in separate rooms."

"Evelyn had a hard time during the three years she was married to Edward. I could tell she loved Edward very much, but didn't dare to get close to him. She could only silently stay by his side. Late at night, when Edward wasn't home, she would lie on his bed for a while, secretly wear his shirts, and spray his cologne, but she never let him find out."

"Evelyn really loved Edward, loved him so humbly that sometimes even I felt sorry for her."

Even Eric felt uncomfortable hearing this, feeling that Evelyn's love was not worth it.

The most painful thing in the world was loving someone deeply who was right beside you, yet you could never have them.

"That night, I saw Evelyn go into Edward's room. Not long after, Edward came back drunk, reeking of alcohol, his face red as if he had a fever."

Eric seemed to recall that night. It was the anniversary of Edward's mother, Amanda's death, and he had gathered a bunch of friends to keep him company.

That night was exceptionally chaotic. Edward drank countless glasses and blacked out.

Later, he sent him back to Riverside Villa, and the butler helped him inside. He didn't know what happened after that.

"And then?" Eric asked urgently.

"Then Edward went back to his room, and neither he nor Evelyn came out all night. I was worried and curious, so I pushed the door open and went in. Through the bedroom door, I heard... I..."

Molly bit her lip tightly, her face turning as red as a flame, too embarrassed to continue.

Eric's pupils gradually contracted, shocked and speechless.

So, they had already had sex during their marriage? And Edward had no memory of it?

"Have you never mentioned this to Edward in the past two years?"

"How could I? And Evelyn clearly didn't want Edward to know."

"How do you know? If you had told Edward, maybe he would have treated Evelyn better!" Eric was a bit anxious, his tone a bit harsh.

Molly shrugged, a hint of fear in her eyes.

Eric quickly pulled her into his arms, gently patting her back and apologizing, "I'm sorry,. I shouldn't have spoken to you like that. I was just too anxious. I really want them to be together."

"At that time, Evelyn was cautiously following Edward. She knew Edward didn't like her, even hated her. She was afraid that if Edward found out, he would hate her even more, thinking she took advantage of him."

As she spoke, Molly's eyes reddened, "So I could only help Evelyn keep this secret. Eric, do you think I did the wrong thing?"

"No, no, Molly, you did nothing wrong. You were thinking of Evelyn."

Eric gently kissed her reddened earlobe, his voice filled with resentment towards Edward, "The wrong one is Edward. He was completely out of line! He didn't even know he hurt Evelyn."

"What can I do? I really want Edward and Evelyn to reconcile." Molly sighed sincerely.

"They will, they definitely will." Eric sighed, but he wasn't entirely confident, "I believe that Evelyn still has feelings for Edward. They will come together someday."
