Chapter 307 Be My Woman with Dignity
Holding Molly's warm, damp hand, Eric walked straight ahead without glancing around.
He noticed that Molly's palm was sweating from nervousness. A slight smile tugged at the corner of his lips, blending indulgence with amusement.
"Eric, why aren't we going to the underground parking lot?" Molly asked anxiously as they reached the hotel lobby.
"My car is parked at the front entrance. Going through the underground parking would be way too roundabout," Eric replied.
"But there are people outside, reporters everywhere," Molly stopped, her delicate shoulders shrinking and eyes full of fear. "If we go out like this, those reporters will write nonsense."
"Nonsense? What nonsense?" Seeing her rushing and noticing she was lightly dressed, Eric took off his red velvet blazer and draped it over her shoulders, carefully buttoning it up for her. "If they write about what's in my heart, then it's not nonsense."
"They'll write that we have that kind of relationship," Molly murmured in a weaker voice, her cheeks turning red.
Her voice was like a soft feather, teasing the trembling tip of his heart.
Eric's eyes reddened slightly, his Adam's apple rolling uncontrollably. His large hand gently rubbed her back, "That would be wonderful."
Stunned, Molly widened her eyes slightly.
"Molly, you are my only girl. Do you understand what that means?" Eric's eyes deepened, his broad hand squeezing her waist.
He loved touching the back of her neck—the soft hair, warm skin, and gentle warmth were all a temptation to him.
Molly seemed to understand but shook her head.
"It means I don't care what others say. I just want to be with you," Eric explained.
Molly's breath hitched, her heart scorched by his intense gaze.
She also really liked being with Eric but being together with him wasn't possible.
Eric gently pulled her, puzzled by her stiffness and lack of movement. "Molly, what's wrong?"
"Eric, let's go out the back door," Molly's eyes were filled with anxious tears, her tone soft and almost pleading. "I'm scared. I'm afraid they'll laugh at you!"
"Molly?" Stunned, Eric narrowed his eyes.
"We can stay hidden where no one can see us. Please! I don't mind being laughed at, but I don't want them to laugh at you. Ever since I was little, anyone with me got laughed at. I don't want that to happen to you!"
Eric's pupils contracted sharply!
Staring at her pale face, he felt his breath catch, his heart gripped by a powerful force. An overwhelming sense of sadness and pain surged through him.
He hated her bullies and himself for not protecting her sooner.
"Put me down," Molly's vision blurred, and the next second, she was being carried horizontally by Eric.
"No way," Eric's eyes flashed with a sharp light as he strode towards the front door, gritting his teeth, "I want to see who dares to laugh at my woman."
Outside, it was quite lively.
Many reporters were still lingering around. When they saw Eric coming out with a beautiful girl in his arms, they were all shocked and swarmed around them!
"Who's the girl Eric brought out? A new girlfriend? I've never seen her before!"
"Are you serious? That's Molly, the youngest daughter of the Wellington family!"
"I've heard the Wellington family has a very low-key daughter who rarely almost appeared in public. So it's her? She's indeed beautiful!"
"Debra always claimed to be the most beautiful in Mugden. She's far behind when compared to her sister!"
"Of course, any woman Mr. Clark fancies can't be bad!"
Seeing the situation getting chaotic, Ellen immediately brought two bodyguards to clear a path for Eric.
Countless flashlights went off. Molly buried her blushing face in Eric's black shirt to shield herself from the strong lights.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here," Eric whispered in her ear.
"Okay," Molly answered.
That single word made Eric's heart soar higher than a thousand others ever could.
"Mr. Clark! Is Miss Wellington your new girlfriend?"
"Mr. Clark! Have you confirmed your relationship and are now dating?"
Extremely excited, the reporters bombarded them with questions!
All of Mugden knew that Eric had never been seen with any woman in public before.
Eric stopped, holding Molly tighter, staring at the cameras. "Whether we're dating is up to her. She can choose not to be with me, but I have already chosen her."
Everyone was stunned!
Eric was always domineering. What he wanted was his, regardless of others' opinions.
But this time, he gave Molly enough respect, even putting himself in an unprecedentedly humble position, giving her the full right to choose.
He couldn't be more indulgent.
The situation, which was still under control, almost completely erupted after his words!
Ellen had to work hard to escort Eric and Molly to the car.
The luxury car sped away from the crowd, heading towards the KS WORLD hotel.
"Mr. Clark," Ellen hesitated but finally spoke, trying to be tactful, "there might be some online backlash later. I'll handle it as quickly as possible."
"Why handle it? Did I do something shameful?" Eric's eyes darkened, his voice turning cold.
"No, but—"
"Do you think I care what people online say? Is it wrong to want to be with the person I love?"
Ellen didn't dare to speak anymore and continued driving.
Molly's shoulders trembled slightly. She looked up at Eric's incredibly gentle eyes. "Eric, I—"
"Don't say anything. It's all my choice, nothing to do with you," Seeing her hair soaked with sweat, Eric tenderly brushed it aside, tucking it behind her blushed ear.
His eyes darkened as he noticed the red mark on her cheek, "Molly, what happened to your cheek? Who did this?"
"It's nothing. I accidentally scratched myself," Molly quickly tried to cover it with her hair, but her hand was grabbed.
Eric's eyes were filled with anger, he said in a low voice, "Did Debra do this?"
Molly bit her lip, staying silent.
Fine, one debt or two, it didn't matter. He would hold Debra accountable for everything!
"Eric, please don't do this anymore. I don't want to cause you any trouble at all." Molly's expression was gloomy, her heart in turmoil.
Eric smiled bitterly, holding her small hand tightly, lowering his head to kiss her sweaty forehead, "You're not causing any trouble. Everything is my choice."
He thought, 'My love for you is to make you proudly be my woman by my side.'
