Chapter 173 Alexa

During this time, even though the Wellington Group and KS WORLD seemed to have no interactions, they were secretly competing.

Ada, an international superstar, always made a splash in the entertainment industry. She wouldn't even consider her wedding unless it was sponsored by top brands.

Everyone knew Ada was a serious jewelry collector. She'd held private exhibitions showcasing her valuable pieces.

For her wedding, she demanded that the Wellington Group and KS provide top-notch, handcrafted, unique jewelry from a master designer.

"Ada wants something unique that matches her superstar status," Bart relayed to Edward and the high-level executives present. "She won't dictate the style or designer. It's up to Wellington Group and KS to figure it out. Whoever satisfies her gets to host her wedding."

Edward frowned, tapping his pen, his eyes darkening.

One of the executives, surprised, said, "She wants the best of everything. Does she think the Wellington Group has it all?"

Edward shot him a stern look. "This is a meeting room. Speak up if you have ideas. If not, keep quiet."

Everyone fell silent, brainstorming.

The product design director listed renowned jewelry designers, complete with a detailed presentation.

Edward listened, then asked, "Why isn't Alexa on your list?"

The room went silent.

"What's wrong? Why the silence?" Edward asked, confused.

"Edward, it's impossible for us to get Alexa," the design director said nervously.

"Why, is she dead?" Edward asked seriously.

Everyone stayed quiet.

As president of Wellington Group, Edward was great at business but clueless about jewelry and fashion.

"No, she's alive. But Alexa is a top figure in jewelry design. The designers I mentioned admire her. Some even look to her work for inspiration. Getting her to design for Ada is a fantasy."

The design director, an Alexa fan, thought it was a waste to ask her to design for Ada.

"No one is invincible," Edward said firmly. "The jewelry designer for Ada's wedding will be Alexa."

Everyone was shocked.

The design director, sweating, said, "But Edward, the designers I mentioned are excellent. Their work has won international awards and is impressive."

Edward shook his head slightly. "I didn't reject your choices because they weren't excellent. You did well. But you overlooked our competitor."

Everyone exchanged glances.

"Our competitor is KS WORLD and Evelyn."

In the past, Edward dreaded hearing Evelyn's name, but now his eyes sparkled with admiration. "I know Evelyn well. She's a perfectionist like me. Ada's demands are clear, and Evelyn knows them too. Do you think, with KnightSpear Group's resources and Evelyn's style, she'd come up with a half-hearted solution?" Edward's eyes darkened. "No, she either does nothing or aims to be the best, leaving no room for competition. We must get Alexa before she does."

Everyone was skeptical. 'If even Wellington Group might struggle to get Alexa, could Evelyn really do it?'

"Within a day, gather information about Alexa for me—not her works, but about her personally."

Edward was about to adjourn the meeting when the design director nervously spoke up, "Edward, I can give you tons of info on Alexa's works, but about her personally, I only know one thing."

Edward frowned. "What?"

"She's a woman."

The next day.

Evelyn returned to her office after a team meeting.

"William, I'm hungry. Order some fried chicken," Evelyn said, sitting at her computer and starting a game.

William looked at her, helpless. "Do you still have an appetite for fried chicken now? I'm stressed out. Ada's team wants a top jewelry designer. The Wellington Group must have already taken action. How can you not be worried? You rejected the team's designer proposals and insisted on getting Alexa. Everyone knows it's tough to get her! We're pressed for time. How can we possibly get Alexa?"

"If we can't get Alexa, the Wellington Group can't either, so no worries," Evelyn said nonchalantly, even humming a tune.

"But—" William started to say when a video call came through on the computer.

William was about to leave, but Evelyn stopped him.

"It's a friend of mine. You can stay."

She accepted the video call.

A blonde, blue-eyed beauty appeared on the screen.

"Long time no see, Sliva," Evelyn greeted her.

"Edward from the Wellington Group contacted me, hoping Alexa could design jewelry for them," Sliva reported in fluent English.

"Really? Edward contacted you personally? That's unlike him," Evelyn remarked.

"It doesn't matter who contacts me. The result is the same. I won't agree to their request," Sliva said.

"Then if I ask Alexa to come out of retirement, as her chief assistant, could you do me a favor?" Evelyn asked, her eyes twinkling with wit.

William was stunned. 'No wonder Evelyn is so confident. She has a good relationship with Alexa's assistant, Sliva!'

But Sliva's next words left William utterly shocked.

Sliva leaned closer to the screen, half-jokingly and half-complaining, "It's so hard to get in touch with you. Don't joke with me, Alexa."

William was stunned. 'Alexa? Evelyn is the internationally renowned jewelry designer, the dazzling legend of the jewelry world—Alexa?'
