Chapter 415 Four Million Dollars

Tiffany and Debra were terrified when they heard about the shooting that resulted in deaths, Evelyn and her secretary William being hospitalized, and Lloyd being wanted.

"Mom, Mom, what do we do now?"

A sharp slap echoed!

Tiffany, with bloodshot eyes and extreme anger, swung her arm and slapped Debra's sweaty face, causing her to stagger and fall against the coffee table, unable to stand up from the pain!

Tiffany, usually gentle and weak, seemed to have endless strength when hitting her daughter!

Debra's cheek immediately swelled up. She covered her face, crying uncontrollably, but through her disheveled hair, she stared at Tiffany with intense resentment.

"You're useless! Who told you to act on your own? I told you and Lloyd to kill Kimberly, who told you to touch Evelyn?"

Tiffany was furious but didn't dare to shout, squeezing out each word from her throat in a twisted, harsh tone, "Do you know who Evelyn is? Charlie's daughter! Byron's precious! And the woman Edward dreams of having! You touched her at this critical moment. If you want to die, don't drag me down with you!"

"It's because you're my mom that I did all this, don't you understand!" Debra struggled to stand up, crying out, "You said it yourself, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Evelyn and Kimberly met secretly, surely without bodyguards. Lloyd is a mercenary, killing her would be as easy as crushing an ant! If we succeeded, she would never be able to control you again!"

"But did you kill her? Now Lloyd is wanted all over the city!"

The more Tiffany thought about it, the angrier she got. She wanted to strangle her foolish daughter!

Overwhelmed by uncontrollable rage, she trembled all over and quickly grabbed a blanket to wrap herself tightly.

She decided she must go to Percy for an injection tomorrow. Without medication, she couldn't stabilize her emotions and couldn't even sleep.

"It's all your fault that I lost Trevor and Lloyd, two capable assistants."

"How is Trevor my fault? You couldn't stand Joyce and wanted to deal with him, what does that have to do with me!"

Debra was quite clear-headed, admitting her mistakes but not taking the blame for others.

Tiffany could only be thankful that Trevor, Debra's biological father, hadn't exposed her.

But what about Lloyd? He was now wanted nationwide by the police, and Edward had mobilized all his connections to capture him.

Would he crack under pressure and betray her?

Just then, Tiffany's phone rang, startling both Tiffany and Debra.

She picked up the phone with trembling hands, seeing it was a private number.

It rang for a long time before she answered.

"Lloyd, is that you?"

"Mrs. Wellington, it's me." Lloyd's voice was very low, and the signal on his end wasn't good.

"Where are you now?"

"I'm temporarily safe. Mrs. Wellington, I need some travel expenses, please prepare it within three days."

Tiffany turned her back and asked in a low voice, "How much do you need?"

"Four million dollars, and you need to prepare a boat for me. I'll escape to Torontow by water."

"Four million dollars?"

Tiffany gasped, her eyes wide with anger, "Where am I supposed to get four million dollars in cash for you! Besides, if you hadn't acted on your own, this mess wouldn't have happened! Now you want four million dollars from me, how dare you?"

"Mrs. Wellington, you know how many problems I've handled for you over the years."

Lloyd's tone was flat, with a hint of cold threat, "I've helped you a lot, ensuring your position as the wife of the chairman of the Wellington Group. I've worked hard, and I think four million dollars before I retire is not too much to ask, it's what I deserve."

"You!"

"Besides, you're the wife of the chairman of the Wellington Group, incredibly wealthy. Four million dollars is nothing to you. Your bank deposits in Routiland, as far as I know, are from embezzling the Wellington Group's project funds over the years. If not two hundred million dollars, at least one hundred million, right?"

Tiffany thought of the two hundred million dollars she had painstakingly saved, secret funds she had embezzled and taken bribes for over the years.

If Edward and Evelyn discovered this money, they could use it against her, and she would be in big trouble.

She would end up in jail!

Unless Patrick considered their marriage and protected her, but now, she couldn't trust Patrick either.

"Mrs. Wellington, you're not even fifty yet, you still have many years of wealth and luxury ahead, and two daughters who haven't married yet. Don't you want to personally see them get married? You're used to a life of luxury, the harsh environment of prison would make you wish you were dead."

Lloyd's words were a blatant threat!

Tiffany gritted her teeth, making a huge decision, "Fine! I'll get you the four million dollars within three days!

But you must disappear and never show up in Mugden again!"

"Three days is too late. Not only are the police looking for me, but Edward and Eric's people are also secretly searching for me. I can't wait that long. I need to see the four million dollars by sunset tomorrow. Mrs. Wellington, we've worked together, let's not end up destroying each other."

In the hallway, May was just passing by Tiffany's room with a newly tailored suit for Edward.

As she reached the door, she heard the sound of things being smashed inside.

May frowned and cursed silently, "What's she throwing a fit about now! Even after marrying into the Wellington family, she can't change her shrewish nature!"

At that moment, May's phone vibrated, and Edward's call came in.

May quickly went to a corner to answer, "Mr. Wellington, are you coming home tonight?"

"May, are Tiffany and Debra at Riverside Villa?" Edward's tone was always gentle with May.

"They are. I just stood at the door and overheard them arguing fiercely. They've probably smashed everything in the room."

May couldn't help but ask worriedly, "Mr. Wellington, has something happened? You haven't been home for days."

Edward thought for a moment and decided not to tell May about Kimberly's death yet, fearing she couldn't handle it, "May, I need you to do something for me these next few days. Don't leave Riverside Villa, stay in the house, and keep a close eye on Tiffany's every move. If she goes out, inform me immediately. Don't worry about anything else."

"Yes, Mr. Wellington, I understand!"

"Remember, don't meddle in anything else. Tiffany is a vicious woman, if you push her too far, she'll do anything." Edward's voice was hoarse and low.

May shivered, "Mr. Wellington, what exactly happened? By the way, Kimberly hasn't shown up for two or three days, and she didn't ask the butler for leave. I can't reach her by phone either, has something happened to her?"

"I'll tell you about Kimberly when the time is right. For now, just do as I say."

Just as Edward was about to end the call, Tiffany came out of her room.

It was late at night, and the usually flamboyant Tiffany was dressed very low-key, all in black.

Anyone who didn't know better would think she was in mourning.

May quickly ran and hid, standing by the window, watching Tiffany get into a car and drive out of Riverside Villa.

"Mr. Wellington! Just now, Tiffany went out!"

May hurriedly reported to Edward, "She's dressed all in black, definitely not up to anything good!"
