Chapter 212 I Want It, Who Can Stop Me?

Evelyn sorted things out with Molly and headed back to the villa with William.

On the way, she kept thinking about Edward drying her hair, feeling her heart tighten and her mouth go dry.

"Sorry, it's my first time doing this. I don't have much experience."

'Yeah, right. You've been with Nicole for years. Even if you haven't done the thing, you've probably done everything else. Why act all innocent with me? You and Eric are both the worst!' Evelyn thought.

Back home, Evelyn kicked off her heels and slumped on the sofa, looking upset, not heading upstairs to rest.

William handed her a cup of warm milk, concerned. "Evelyn, it's late. Drink this and get some rest."

"How did Molly and Eric run into each other tonight? Molly's always under the Wellington family's watch and never leaves the house. What happened?" Evelyn asked, worried.

"I asked Eric. He said he didn't know why Molly was at his place. But he mentioned she was frantically looking for something. If he hadn't found her, she might've been in danger tonight," William replied.

Evelyn frowned. "Looking for something? What was she looking for?"

"He said it was a teddy bear you gave her."

Evelyn's breath caught, and she clenched her fingers. "The teddy bear I gave Molly was at Alahle Club?"

"I asked if anything unusual happened at Alahle Club tonight. He said no but mentioned his sister, Jessica," William, being a lawyer, was good at getting info.

"I get it," Evelyn said, narrowing her eyes. She hadn't seen it herself, but she understood. "Debra, you never change! Bullying Molly? She’s asking for trouble! I'll make sure Molly gets justice!"

Eric was sent away by Edward in the early hours.

Lying in bed, he couldn't stop thinking about kissing Molly in the dim light.

Molly's lips were soft and fragrant, intoxicating.

Suddenly, he felt a surge of heat in his lower abdomen.

Eric cursed and tried to sleep, but the discomfort was too much. He had to take a cold shower for twenty minutes to cool down.

He finally fell asleep near dawn and woke up in the afternoon.

Eric got dressed and was about to leave his room when he saw Jessica's angry face.

"Eric, you're too much!"

"Too much? Because I told you not to go to Alahle Club and stay away from Debra?"

Eric touched Jessica's head and clicked his tongue. "Jessica, the older you get, the less sensible you become. Can't you tell right from wrong?"

"Don't touch me with the hand you used to touch Molly. It's dirty!" Jessica slapped his hand away, showing her resentment towards Molly.

"Jessica, what did you say?" Eric's eyes narrowed in disbelief.

Jessica, humiliated from being dragged away in public last night, vented her anger. "I hate Molly! You're my brother, why does she get your attention?"

"Jessica, what are you talking about?" Eric frowned.

"You turned Alahle Club upside down for a stupid toy! A piece of junk!"

Jessica's shouting grew more hysterical, and the passing servants glanced over but didn't dare to look directly.

"I'm your sister! When have you ever cared about me like that? You just throw money at me! But now you're so attentive to that idiot. Eric, have you lost your mind? I studied abroad for years, only to come back and be less important than an idiot!" Jessica ranted.

"Jessica, Molly is not an idiot. I won't let you call her that!" Eric snapped.

Hearing Jessica call Molly an idiot was too harsh, too painful for him.

Jessica had always been like an angel to him, even if she was a bit spoiled. But now, her eyes were bloodshot, filled with intense hostility towards Molly. She looked like she wanted to tear Molly apart!

'Just because I was with Molly last night? I've been a playboy for years, with countless women, and Jessica never reacted like this. Why is she so hostile towards Molly?' Eric thought.

"Eric, you're yelling at me for that idiot?" Jessica's face went from red to white, a chill running down her spine from his piercing gaze, her forehead covered in cold sweat.

"Molly is not an idiot. I don't want to hear those words from you again. If it happens one more time, I will really be angry, Jessica." Eric took a deep breath, his eyes darkening. "When you were little, Jared died unexpectedly, and Sophia was too busy with family affairs to take care of us. It was always me who took care of you and protected you. I fed you, let you ride on my back like a horse, and changed your diapers. You say I don't care about you enough. Honestly, in twenty years, nothing has hurt me more than what you're saying now."

"Eric." Jessica was stunned, her voice trembling.

"It's not that I don't care about you, but we've grown up, and the way I care for you has changed. You just haven't noticed." Eric's eyes darkened. "I never blamed you for not understanding me. But I don't get why you have such hostility towards Molly. What did she do to you?"

"I just don't like her. She doesn't deserve to be with you!" Jessica, flustered by his questioning, could only come up with a random excuse.

Eric's jaw tightened, his gaze stern and dark. "Jessica, you have no right to look down on Molly. In terms of status, she's no lower than you or me. Even if she came from nothing, so what? The woman I want, and who can stop me?"

Leaving behind a statement that sounded like a declaration, Eric walked away with large strides, leaving Jessica standing there, feeling humiliated and gritting her teeth.

A week had passed since Ada terminated her contract with KS WORLD.

During this week, William had been closely monitoring the project team members, but to no avail. "Evelyn, it's been a week, and we haven't made any progress. Could it be that we're investigating in the wrong direction?" William scratched his head in frustration. "Maybe there's no mole in the team?"

"No one has contacted Dorothy?" Evelyn asked while playing a game.

"No, everything's been quiet," William answered.

"Usually, calm waters hide turbulent undercurrents. It seems we need to put on a show to lure the fish to bite." Humming a tune, Evelyn executed the last survivor in the game, the bloody scene making William quickly close his eyes. She instructed, "Gather the project team members for a meeting in the conference room immediately."

Half an hour later, the eight hotel staff members who had been responsible for Ada's wedding planning arrived in the conference room on time.

After waiting for about ten minutes, Evelyn finally entered with a bright smile.

Despite the contract termination incident, she seemed unaffected.

"Sorry, everyone, I was handling some important business and came late." Evelyn sat confidently at the head of the table, her red lips curling up as she looked around at the eight people. "I have drafted a new wedding plan, ready to approach Ada again to reconsider working with us!"

The group gasped in surprise and excitement, "Really, Ms. Taylor? That's wonderful!"

Evelyn nodded with a smile, her sharp gaze sweeping over the eight faces.

At this moment, she noticed that one of the staff members, Donovan Hawkins, had a slightly stiff expression, which was very intriguing.

Just then, Donovan raised his hand to ask a question, "Ms. Taylor, hasn't Ada already chosen the Wellington Group? Given the situation, can we really win her back?"

Evelyn tapped her fingers on the table, her eyes narrowing slightly as she asked with a faint smile, "Oh? Ada has already partnered with the Wellington Group? Such a big deal, you know about it, but how come I don't?"
