Chapter 51 Blocking Edward

Evelyn stayed at Star Park for three full days.
During these three days, she hardly slept to create a gemstone bracelet that could rival Byron's. When she got tired, she would take a nap in her workshop. Upon waking up, she would eat a simple meal and continue working on the bracelet.
She drove away Landon, Simon, and Ulysses during the day, but they would cancel all their appointments and come back to have dinner with her in the evening.
Facing a table full of her favorite food brought by her brothers, Evelyn still absentmindedly supported her chin with her hand, playing with her fork with a worried expression.
Landon, Simon, and Ulysses felt anxious but could not find a way to help her.
Unfortunately, the three of them knew nothing about jewelry!
"Ms. Taylor."
Evelyn snapped out of her thoughts and looked wearily at Andy.
Andy brought out a delicate jewelry box from behind and placed it in front of her properly.
"Uncle Andy, what is this..."
"Open it and see."
Confused, Evelyn furrowed her brows and opened the box.
In an instant, she covered her mouth in surprise and stared at the sparkling and brightly colored gemstone bracelet inside the box.
Although this bracelet was still slightly different from the one Byron gave her, it was already very similar!
"This is one of the proudest works left by my master, Mr. Blair, before he passed away. He originally wanted to personally give this bracelet to Mrs. Blair, but he couldn't fulfill that wish," Andy sighed with regret.

"Mrs. Blair? I remember Mr. Blair was a lifelong bachelor. Does he have a wife?" Simon asked, curiously chewing his meat.

Andy glanced at him and replied, "Who doesn't have a secret crush? She was Mr. Blair's secret crush. Her name is Maria."

"Oh, I thought Mr. Blair only liked stones, not women," Ulysses teased as he took a sip of his drink. "So why couldn't he give her the bracelet? Was he too afraid?"

"Mr. Blair and Maria were classmates, and back then, Mr. Blair used to tease her a lot. But after twenty years of spending time together, Mr. Blair unintentionally fell in love with Maria without realizing it himself. Later on, Maria got married. He wanted to give this bracelet as a wedding gift to her, but on the day of the wedding, Maria was involved in a serious car accident and was pronounced brain-dead. She passed away," Andy explained.

Landon, Simon, Ulysses, and Evelyn were all shocked and couldn't help but feel saddened.

"Since then, Mr. Blair has never loved anyone else. He poured all his emotions for Maria into gemstones, using them to heal himself throughout the long and lonely years," Andy continued.

"Mr. Blair is not incapable of love. On the contrary, how many men in this world can be as deeply devoted as Mr. Blair?" Evelyn sighed softly, her eyes hinting at envy.

"But isn't all this tragedy caused by Mr. Blair's failure to realize his love for Maria? He brought it upon himself," Landon, Simon, and Evelyn looked at Ulysses with a dangerous gaze. Ulysses smirked, feeling awkward as he sipped his drink.

Bitterness filled Evelyn's heart. Even George, who was usually aloof and detached, had unknowingly fallen in love with Maria. She had been married to Edward for three years, but had he ever shown her even a moment of fondness?

She divorced him. Did he ever regret it even a little?

No.

If he had regretted it, how could he repeatedly use insulting words to hurt her? How could he fail to distinguish right from wrong and align himself with those cunning and malicious women who questioned her character?

They were no longer married; she was no longer his wife, and he didn't even want to waste any effort pretending to respect her.

Evelyn sneered silently in her heart. She raised her glass and drank it all in one go, feeling a painful yet sobering sensation in her throat.

If George knew that she was comparing him to that bastard Edward, he would surely be furious enough to rise from his grave.
"Ms. Taylor, you can take this bracelet. I compared it, and it's the closest match to the one you broke," Andy said earnestly, looking at her.

"No, no, no... I can't accept it. This is Mr. Blair's heirloom. It's too precious. I can't take it!" Evelyn panicked and pushed the box back.

"Mr. Blair left a final will, and no one should touch his belongings except for Charlie's children. When you grow up, if you want anything, you can take it whenever you want!" Andy exclaimed.

Tears welled up in Evelyn's eyes. "Uncle Andy, I..."

"These past few days, I've seen how much you've put into restoring that bracelet. It must be a dear friend to you. You're a kind-hearted and loyal child. Mr. Blair would be delighted if he knew. Take it," Andy gently smiled and placed the box back into her hands.

That evening, Evelyn and her brothers bid farewell to Andy and left Star Park.

They drove towards Mugden in a Rolls-Royce.

Evelyn leaned on Landon, her eyes half-closed with exhaustion, clutching the jewelry box tightly to her chest.

"Evelyn, there's something I need to tell you. Edward contacted me the night you returned to Hameen," Landon hesitated for a moment before speaking in a hoarse voice.

"Oh," Evelyn's heart trembled, but she responded casually.

"I told him not to contact you anymore and said some harsh words. I have no idea what he thinks."

"Good job. I, the noble Evelyn Taylor, am not someone he can easily reach. I am the woman of KnightSpear Group's CEO," Evelyn declared.

"Yes... you are the woman cherished by all the men of KnightSpear Group," Landon smiled tenderly and caressed Evelyn in his arms.

"Landon, your phone," Evelyn motioned with her finger.

Confused, Landon handed her the phone. "The password is your birthday."

"I know."

Evelyn opened the contacts list and decisively blocked Edward.

"Well done," Landon smiled faintly.

"Of course, otherwise he would never learn his lesson," Evelyn mentioned her ex-husband, her gaze turning ice-cold.

These days, Edward had lost his appetite and had trouble sleeping.

His ex-wife had completely disappeared.

Unable to find Lily, Byron started calling Edward relentlessly every day, urging him to see Lily.

"Mr. Wellington, I think... maybe we should report this to the police."
Bart racked his brain next to him. "Let's call the police and report Mrs. Wellington missing! You and Mrs. Wellington haven't formally completed the divorce process yet; you're still married, and it's only natural for you to look for your wife. I don't believe the police won't be able to find her!"
"Is this something a human can come up with?" Edward glared at him impatiently.
"Well, what else can we do? Mrs. Wellington seems to have disappeared. She doesn't have a phone or any friends, and the only contact person, Mr. Taylor, is ignoring you..."
Edward squinted his eyes and coldly glanced at clueless Bart.
Last night, he tried calling Landon's phone again, but he discovered that Landon had blocked him!
Edward felt the taste of being blocked for the first time in his life. He felt like he was thrown into outer space, sitting there in a daze, only coming to his senses after more than ten minutes.
The feeling of being humiliated tugged at his heart fiercely.
Edward stood up abruptly, picked up his suit from the hanger, and walked briskly towards the door.
"Get the car ready, we're going to KS World Hotel!"
After returning from Hameen, Evelyn immediately threw herself into work.
These few days, William led the senior executives to meetings, overseeing the overall situation. Seeing Evelyn's radiant return, he finally put his mind at ease.
The hotel's occupancy rate has increased by 20% recently. Although this is not remarkable, it's still a small achievement.
Moreover, Evelyn has revamped the hotel's buffet and menu of various dishes and recently held a gourmet week event. Many guests now specifically come to dine, and the daily income from dining alone is quite substantial.
However, Evelyn is not satisfied with this achievement.
She is ambitious; she wants to make KS World Hotel bigger and stronger, surpassing the hotels under the Wellington Group.
In her marriage, she lost completely.
But in the business world, she cannot lose to Edward!
"I heard that our hotel's presidential suite, which no one has stayed in for two years, had someone check in last night?"
Evelyn casually asked while looking at the financial report.
"Guess who booked the room?" William circled around and skillfully gently massaged Evelyn's shoulders.
"Eric?"
"It was Ms. Debra."
Evelyn's eyes brightened, and she raised her elegant eyebrows, "Hmm? Why is she staying in such a large suite?"
"The staff from the guest room department said she was having a party with three friends. Late at night, two tall and muscular male models sneak in. They caused a commotion in the room all night. Luckily, our hotel has good sound insulation. Those two models left the presidential suite around five in the morning, probably to cover their tracks."

Evelyn had heard rumors about Debra's chaotic personal life for a while. "But with three women and only two men, is it enough to go around?" Evelyn commented with a disgusted tone. "Once they check out, make sure to have the housekeeping thoroughly clean and disinfect the room. Throw away all the bedding. I'm afraid that other guests might get sick if they stay there."

Just then, William's phone rang. It was a call from a supervisor.

He answered the phone and listened for a while, his face growing dark.

"What's wrong?" Evelyn asked keenly.

"Ms. Taylor, Debra is causing a scene in the lobby. She's accusing our hotel staff of stealing her things and demands an explanation immediately!"
