Chapter 602 It's Not Over Yet, There's Still a Turnaround

The livestream incident—although the Alexander family tried their best to suppress it, Randy's reputation was just too terrible. Too many people wanted to kick him while he was down and watch the Alexander family's drama unfold.

Plus, the person accusing him was some unknown Taylor family heiress who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, which added to the drama. So the buzz remained sky-high.

With the buzz refusing to die down, Randy would be locked down by the police indefinitely.

Elbert even went to the police chief himself to plead, but then top-tier tycoon Charlie unexpectedly made it onto the trending topics after a long absence!

In the office, a news segment suddenly cut in on the TV.

It was footage of Charlie being interviewed by reporters after attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new project.

The reporter jumped right in: "Mr. Taylor, about the livestream incident the other day, that woman who claimed to be your daughter..."

"Claimed?"

Charlie's expression instantly darkened, and he shot back without mercy, "Which news outlet are you from? With such dull information sensitivity, you've got the nerve to work in media?"

Everyone was intimidated by his overwhelming presence and didn't dare breathe.

The reporter asking the question was trembling, hand shaking as they held the microphone.

"That's my own daughter, the youngest princess of the Taylor family. Her mother is my wife, Joyce."

Charlie's expression was particularly stern, but when he mentioned Jennifer, his sharp hawk-like eyes showed a rare tenderness. "In my eyes, whether it's Evelyn or Jennifer, they're both my treasures. I didn't expose Jennifer before because she was young, still in school, and she and her mother don't like being high-profile. I was afraid of disrupting that child's school life, so I didn't bring her to public events much. I did it all to protect my younger daughter."

"But I never expected that my protection of my daughter would allow that bastard Randy to bully her!"

Everyone was shocked.

Even though everyone knew Charlie and Elbert were close friends, for Jennifer's sake, Charlie wasn't giving the Alexander family any face at all!

"My daughter suffered tremendous humiliation. If the Alexander family thinks they can settle this privately, that's impossible. I will pursue this to the end!"

Charlie's eyes were bloodshot, nearly losing his composure in front of the camera. He barely managed to control his towering rage, gritting his teeth at the camera with hatred, "Elbert, if you have any conscience left, make that damned son of yours turn himself in and apologize to my daughter!"

"Otherwise, the Alexander family will be KnightSpear Group's enemy forever!"

Elbert was so angry he was panting heavily, fumbling for the remote to turn off the TV.

He knew that Charlie was ruthless enough, had the guts, and a gentleman's word was his bond—he did what he said he'd do.

This was no threat—this was an open declaration of war!

"Ahem... Elbert, as you can see now, your son's matter has completely blown up, and it involves Mr. Taylor's daughter, too. This... is really hard to handle."

The police chief shook his head helplessly. "If there hadn't been that livestream, I could still intervene, but now the whole country is watching this, and even the higher-ups know about it. If I try to work things out for you... forget about offending Mr. Taylor, making things difficult for me—if the higher-ups find out, I'm afraid I won't be able to keep my job. How about... you go have a good talk with Mr. Taylor?"

If this TV didn't belong to someone else, Elbert would have smashed it long ago.

Oasis Villa.

When Charlie made the news, the two of them had indulged all night and slept until late morning, having just finished bathing.

Evelyn's fair, delicate body was wrapped only in a bath towel covering her private areas. She sat obediently on a chair in the bathroom, letting Edward blow-dry her hair.

Her hair was as smooth as silk. Every time, the man had to use the hair dryer for a long time, and the brushing plus oil treatment also took quite a while.

But Edward never showed the slightest impatience. Instead, he enjoyed it and couldn't get enough.

Taking care of her, being good to her—it was carved into his bones, an addiction he could never quit.

"Your technique is so good, it feels amazing..."

Evelyn's eyes narrowed with pleasure. "I'm going to fall asleep again."

"Then go sleep a bit more." Edward leaned down, his thin lips kissing her cherry-red earlobe.

"No, Jennifer's matter isn't over yet, and Charlie just spoke out again. How can I be in the mood to sleep?"

Evelyn kept scrolling through Twitter comments, the corners of her lips slightly upturned. "But fortunately, Charlie's actions have reversed some of the public opinion for Jennifer. Now more and more people in the comments are supporting Jennifer, supporting the Taylor family, demanding the Alexander family explain."

"Jennifer is such a good girl, it's natural that her favorability would rise. Plus, Mr. Taylor exposing his father-daughter relationship with her will also shut up those with bad intentions. The situation seems to be gradually improving." Edward transformed into a professional hairstylist, skillfully brushing her hair.

"But don't celebrate too early. Peter told me yesterday that he can only detain Randy as long as possible, but if the follow-up evidence doesn't keep up, that damned guy will eventually be bailed out." Evelyn bit her lip with resentment.

"Evelyn, don't worry. Things aren't over yet—maybe there'll be a turning point."

Just as Edward finished speaking, Evelyn's phone rang.

She looked closely at the screen—it showed an extremely unfamiliar number.
