Chapter 474 Sweet Return

After a brief mental struggle, Evelyn made a decision not to say anything.

Nowadays, Edward's heart was filled with guilt and regret. She certainly wanted to see him remorseful for what he had done to her, but he had already risked his life time and again to make amends, giving everything to repay his debt to her. It was enough.

She still wanted him to shine like a star in her life; she didn't want to add to his guilt.

This was also her subtle way of loving someone.

"Evelyn? Are you really okay?" Edward saw her face turn pale, his heart tightened, and his warm hand gripped her shoulder.

"I'm fine." Evelyn raised her face and gave him a bright smile, "What's wrong with me? I injured my finger climbing a tree when I was a kid. It's no big deal; it doesn't affect my life."

Despite her words, Edward still felt heartache and gently held her little finger, "You have so many brothers, how come they didn't take good care of you?"

"My brothers took good care of me, but I was just too rebellious."

Evelyn pouted her delicate lips, looking so cute and playful that it made his heart itch. He couldn't help but peck her inviting lips.

"From now on, you don't need to trouble your brothers. You have me, and I will take care of you and protect you."

Evelyn's face instantly turned red. Seeing her sensitive reaction, his breathing deepened slightly, and his Adam's apple bobbed as his beautiful, desirous eyes grew more intense.

"Oh!" Evelyn hurriedly took out a delicate little box from her coat pocket and stuffed it into Edward's hand, "A gift from Landon."

"Landon, a gift for me?" Edward was astonished.

Evelyn's cheeks flushed, and she nodded gently, "Yes, you were in a coma at the time. I thought it would be best to give it to you personally when you woke up."

She was meticulous; since it was a gift, it had to be well-packaged, so she chose a delicate black velvet jewelry box.

Edward felt a mix of emotions, a sourness welling up in his nose.

It had been a long time since he received a gift.

In the past, besides Evelyn, who else remembered those little anniversaries and holidays, thinking of him so much?

But he didn't cherish it. He had someone who loved him wholeheartedly, yet he always saw her as a burden, always wanting to get rid of her, to escape from her.

"Hurry up and open it." Evelyn leaned against him, urging.

Edward pressed his lips together and opened the box, his eyes instantly narrowing.

It was the cross necklace that Landon wore!

"Isn't this Landon's item? He, he gave it to me?"

"Hmm? Landon never shows this necklace. How do you know he wears it personally?" Evelyn keenly caught the key information.

Edward frowned and smiled bitterly.

That time when Landon barged into the conference room and fought with him, the necklace had slipped out of his collar. He had noticed its fine craftsmanship, clearly handmade, and the scene had left a deep impression on him.

"It's beautiful, exquisite. I really like it."

"It's not worth much, but it holds deep meaning for Landon. Giving it to you is also a sign of his approval." Evelyn's beautiful eyes sparkled, showing that he genuinely liked it.

After all the twists and turns, she was grateful that the person she was with was still her true love.

She was even more grateful that Edward had managed to change her brothers' opinions of him. She had thought they would never forgive him, but fortunately, everything was moving in a positive direction.

Her only worry now was Charlie.

Charlie was very protective of his sister, but apart from family and loved ones, he was tough on everyone else.

Edward had long been blacklisted by Charlie, and getting him off that list and changing Charlie's opinion of him wouldn't be easy.

But that was okay, they could take it slow.

As long as they were united, no one could stop them from being together.

Evelyn personally put the necklace on Edward, her slender, graceful hand inadvertently touching his firm chest.

His muscle definition was too good; just touching it made her imagination run wild.

"How should I thank Landon?" Edward asked softly, his fingers slowly tightening around her waist.

It was so bittersweet. Previously, when he held her, he loved to touch the soft flesh around her waist.

But during his coma, she must have had a hard time, not eating well, let alone resting, and had lost a lot of weight.

"No need."

Evelyn's waist tightened, and she was instantly pulled into Edward's warm embrace.

Her unfinished words were swallowed by his intense, passionate kiss, as he explored every inch of her mouth.

After a long, fervent kiss, he finally pulled away, staring at her glistening lips and dazed eyes. Edward smiled, his voice hoarse and sexy.

"Evelyn, you taste so sweet."

Evelyn was dizzy from the kiss, her ears soft and red, clinging to his strong shoulders, "Don't mess around, we're not the only ones on this plane."

"They're all asleep, don't worry."

Suddenly, Edward tightened his grip on her waist again, his lips lingering and grazing the edge of her burning ear, his breathing growing heavier, "I'll be gentle."

Gentle, gentle? What was Edward planning to do?

Evelyn's heart sounded the alarm, and the next second, Edward sealed her lips with another kiss, slowly pressing her soft, pliant body down.
