Chapter 382 Completely Disappeared

"Miss, please show your invitation." The staff politely asked Evelyn.

"I don't have an invitation." Evelyn replied graciously.

Lori couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh mockingly, finally finding a chance to turn the tables.

"Evelyn, have you not attended such high-class events for too long? Don't you know you need an invitation to get in? You're just making things difficult for the staff."

The staff also looked troubled. "I'm sorry, but you can't enter without an invitation."

"My name is Evelyn." Evelyn replied calmly, her beautiful eyes serene.

Her words wasleaving the two staff members dumbfounded!

In the past, Evelyn might have said, "My dad is Charlie" for convenience. But now, she had caused such a stir multiple times that her name alone was enough to make an impact. She no longer needed to mention Charlie.

"Oh, it's Ms. Taylor! My apologies!"

"It's okay. I have something urgent and need to see Mr. Wellington. It's my fault for not considering this."

Evelyn became humble, smiling slightly. "I don't have an invitation, so it's inconvenient for me to go in. Could you please inform him for me?"

"No need! Ms. Taylor, please come in!" The staff was extremely attentive, a stark contrast to their attitude towards Lori earlier.

"Thank you. This is Mr. Mays, my friend. Can we go in together?" Evelyn asked with a smile.

"Of course! Please come in!"

Evelyn and Adrian were respectfully led into the banquet hall.

Lori was left standing alone, her face red with anger, stomping her foot hard!

It had always been like this since childhood. No matter when or where, no matter how well she did, as soon as Evelyn appeared, all her glory would be stolen!

Meanwhile, Edward and Eric were walking towards the banquet hall.

"How's Molly doing with you lately?" Edward asked, his face expressionless but still concerned about Molly's well-being.

"Molly's doing well. I'm planning to take her to Syeattle for some rest once I'm done with my work." Eric replied, his eyes filled with tenderness and hope for the future whenever he mentioned Molly.

"I've contacted a psychology PhD who can help Molly overcome her autism and psychological shadows."

"Psychological shadows? What kind of psychological shadows?" Edward stopped in his tracks, puzzled.

"I don't know either. Ellen told me that Molly might have suffered some psychological trauma before. I think it might be related to Debra. After all, Molly was always bullied by her at your place. Anyone would have psychological shadows from that."

Eric's eyes narrowed, a cold light flashing in them. "But it doesn't matter anymore. I've already avenged Molly. As long as I'm around, if Debra dares to touch Molly again, I'll pull out her teeth one by one, shave her head, and make her wish she were dead!"

"What did you do to Debra?" Edward asked coolly.

"Why? Do you care?"

"Just curious."

"Nothing much, just disfigured her."

Eric recalled the scene in the warehouse where Debra was tortured and couldn't help but laugh.

"No wonder I haven't seen her lately. She must be too ashamed to show her face."

Edward nodded thoughtfully, then suddenly looked at Eric seriously. "Molly has been staying with you. You haven't done anything to her, have you?"

Eric's heart skipped a beat, recalling the scene from last night when he held Molly's soft body in the bathroom, their lips glued together in a passionate kiss. He felt a rush of heat and a surge of desire.

Just as he didn't know how to respond, Bart came running down the hallway.

"Mr. Wellington! Ms. Taylor is here!"

Eric's eyes widened as he looked at Edward, who seemed dazed upon hearing Evelyn's name. "Who is here?" he asked again.

"Ms. Taylor! Evelyn! She's in the banquet hall right now!" Bart said excitedly.

It had been a while since he last saw Evelyn. Whether Edward missed her or not, Bart certainly did.

"Edward! Is Evelyn here to see you? Did you succeed in pursuing her?" Eric excitedly patted Edward's shoulder.

"Tonight's banquet is attended by many of Mugden's elite." Edward said, suppressing a certain excitement in his voice. "She might just be here to network. After all, she will inherit the Taylor family business."

"Why do you always think the worst?"

Eric turned to Bart. "Did Evelyn come alone or with Landon?"

Bart replied, "Neither. Ms. Taylor came with a stranger."

"Could it be Gilbert?" Eric asked, feeling a surge of anger.

"No, it's not. It's a very handsome man who looks a bit like a woman." Bart said, having only seen Adrian from a distance but remembering his striking appearance.

Edward's deep eyes showed a hint of emotion. It wasn't Evelyn's brothers, nor Gilbert, but a man even Bart didn't recognize.

He thought he had given up on Evelyn, but any news about her still stirred his heart.

Edward quickened his pace to the banquet hall.

As soon as he entered, he saw Evelyn standing in the crowd, dazzling like a morning star.

She was still wearing a black tailored suit, looking elegant, with red lips that were alluring but not vulgar.

At that moment, his heart, which he had tried to suppress, beat even faster.

Eric quickly hid, preferring to stay out of the spotlight now that he had Molly.

Evelyn also noticed Edward.

To her, he was like a flame in the dark, impossible to ignore even with her eyes closed, his presence making her whole body tremble.

It was really annoying.

What would it take to make Edward disappear from her heart completely?
