Chapter 614 The Little Boat of Family Affection Has Overturned
"Calvin, save me!"
Randy's eyes sparkled with hope when he saw Calvin.
They were separated by a long table. Just as he was about to limp over, the supervising officer behind him rushed over and pressed down on his shoulder to restrain him, afraid he might do something rash.
Although Calvin remained seated, his body leaning back, his wary eyes, and his downturned mouth all revealed his disgust for Randy.
From the very beginning, family ties had been the most useless thing to him in the Alexander family.
As a child, Calvin had treated Randy as a playmate. When he grew up, he simply saw this foolish Randy as a doormat he could use. To prevent Randy from sharing his power, he had helped him deal with Randy's messes time and again, propping him up and indulging him to the point of lawlessness. The goal was to completely ruin him, turn him into a follower, make him submissive!
What a shame Randy was so useless, so stupid.
The more Calvin thought about it, the angrier he became. He didn't think it was his fault that his underhanded methods had turned Randy into a murderer. Everything he did was to save him, so Randy should naturally pay the price himself!
"Calvin! How could I become a murderer? I've never killed anyone!"
Randy's cracked lips trembled as he spoke, "I've been framed! They got it wrong! I'm innocent! Someone's trying to set me up! Who have I killed... how would I not know?"
"Randy, calm down first and listen to me."
Calvin lowered his eyes, cleared his throat, and spoke very slowly as if afraid Randy wouldn't understand. "In this case, the witness and physical evidence are solid. The hitman working for you was caught in the act, and he's already confessed everything to the police about how you ordered him to kill and silence witnesses."
"Kill... and silence witnesses?"
Randy froze as if struck by lightning, his face deathly pale. "When did I ever have him kill for me? I never ordered him to do anything!"
Calvin just shook his head helplessly. "Randy, you've always listened to me since we were kids. Why are you arguing with me at this critical moment?
I've told you so many times that I'll do everything I can to get you out. But you just can't keep your cool. Now look what's happened - forget about me, even Father can't help you anymore."
"I didn't! I didn't kill anyone! How many times do I have to say it?"
Randy slammed his hands on the table, spittle flying. "Call Dad right now! I want to talk to him! I'm his favorite son, he won't just leave me to die!"
"Randy, to be honest, I came to see you today and everything I'm saying; it's all Father's intention."
Calvin lost his patience, his brow furrowed tightly. "I've done everything I possibly could for you. Who told you to keep doing stupid things and offend Evelyn and Edward? Now even the family can't protect you anymore."
"What do you mean? You're giving up on me?"
"I'll hire the best lawyer and try to reduce your sentence. I'll also make arrangements for you in prison so you won't suffer too much. This is the best I can do for you."
With that, Calvin gave his secretary a look.
The secretary pulled a document from his briefcase and placed it in front of Randy.
The secretary was careful not to take out a pen. He was afraid Randy might go crazy and use the pen as a weapon to attack Calvin.
Randy looked down.
"Share Transfer Agreement"
"Calvin... you're taking advantage of my situation!"
Randy roared, breathing heavily. "I'm not dead yet, I might still get out of here! And you can't wait to take my shares? You've gone too far! Even if I die, the first in line to inherit my shares is Dad! Not you!"
"Randy, why can't you see the situation clearly? If Dad wanted to save you, would he have waited until now? Everything you've done has completely disappointed him. He won't help you anymore."
Calvin put on an earnest expression, as if thinking of Randy's best interests. "Money and shares; don't take them so seriously. Holding onto them tightly now is meaningless. When your sentence comes down, chances are you'll never leave prison. Even if I reduce your sentence, they'll still strip you of all your assets. Your shares in the Alexander Group will be forcibly transferred anyway."
"But you won't get any of it!"
Calvin gritted his teeth, wishing he could pull off his prosthetic leg and smash it on his head. "I see it now... you didn't come here to save me at all. You just came to mock me and get my shares! I won't give them to you, not even if I die! Get out!"
Calvin didn't bother pretending anymore. He let out a cold laugh and stood up. "Randy, think it over carefully. If you don't agree to transfer them to me, forget about reducing your sentence - and your days in prison definitely won't be pleasant either."
Randy tore up the agreement and threw it at him. "Don't you dare threaten me! Even without you, Dad will take care of me! Get out!"
Gilbert immediately heard about Calvin's visit to the detention center to see Randy.
"Mr. Alexander, when I saw Calvin come out, he looked really upset and was cursing under his breath. Looks like their talk fell apart."
Curtis stood behind the sofa, reporting the situation while massaging Gilbert's shoulders, his expression unable to hide his delight.
Gilbert sipped his red wine with a leisurely smile. "Randy has worshipped Calvin since childhood. Now, seeing his idol's image collapse, he must be completely disappointed in Calvin."
"Absolutely!"
"Once Calvin finishes his work, we can pick the right time to go comfort Randy."
Before Gilbert finished speaking, his phone rang.
Curtis quickly walked over to pick it up. When he saw the name on the screen, he first froze, then handed it over with a worried expression.
"Mr. Alexander, it's Sebastian."
