Chapter 582 He Admitted It?

"William... how could this happen?"

Evelyn felt a buzzing in her head!

If Edward hadn't caught her in time, she would have collapsed to the ground.

"Is it true? William's confessed to everything?" Chief Carter's eyes lit up as he repeatedly reviewed the confession.

"Yeah, Chief Carter. It's all here in black and white. William confessed to assaulting Randy and causing his injuries, admitted to the charges, and is ready to accept the punishment."

This sudden turn of events was a surprising stroke of luck for the Alexander family!

For days, multiple teams had been interrogating him around the clock. Any ordinary person would have cracked by now, but William was tough. He'd rather endure endless days in a dark cell than admit to anything.

So what on earth had changed his mind?

"Evelyn, are you okay?" Edward asked, holding her tightly as he noticed her face turn pale. His heart ached for her.

"William didn't do it. Why would he confess?" Evelyn's eyes were red with tears, shaking her head in anguish. "Is he out of his mind? You can't just admit to something like that! Does he want to go to prison that badly?"

"Exactly, you can't just admit to something like that." Gordon narrowed his eyes, a mocking smile playing on his lips. "As a top law student, William should know better. Ms. Taylor, are you trying to humiliate yourself by getting involved?"

Evelyn felt a sharp pain in her heart, as if stabbed.

In an instant, a realization struck her like lightning.

An hour earlier.

Chief Carter had given Gordon special permission to visit William in secret.

In the interrogation room, the two brothers sat across from each other, the tension thick in the air.

There was no sign of familial love, only intense hostility.

"William, look at yourself. You should see how pathetic you look right now."

Gordon shook his head as he scrutinized him. "If Mom and Dad knew you were willing to go to prison for that Taylor girl, they'd be heartbroken. You're such a disappointment."

"Did your master forget to leash you when you were let out? You come barking at me like a stray dog," William replied, closing his eyes, refusing to even look at him.

Gordon laughed, unfazed.

"We're brothers. Why make things so ugly?"

"We're not brothers. You disgust me."

"Hahaha... then let's talk about something less disgusting, something you might care about."

Gordon pulled out his phone and played a video, slowly pushing it towards William. "Take a look at this."

William frowned and opened his eyes to look at the screen.

The next second, he was shocked, standing up and slamming the table. "Gordon! What are you trying to do?"

The video showed the scene from the party where Evelyn and Edward had burst in. What happened next was clear.

Then came the footage of Landon beating Randy. Randy was already a mess, being dragged around like a rag doll by Landon. The camera recorded everything clearly.

But William was nowhere to be seen!

He had been there, but in this video, he was missing!

"Ms. Taylor and Mr. Wellington were very careful. After beating Randy, they deleted all the hotel footage of themselves.

But they didn't know that as long as the footage is deleted within a week, it can be recovered through technical means."

Gordon's face twisted into a sinister smile. "I even flew to Mythorica to find a top hacker to restore this video, costing me tens of thousands of dollars. But it was worth it."

"Gordon, this is falsifying evidence! Aren't you afraid of losing your law license and being investigated by the Department of Justice?" William's face turned pale with fury, a vein throbbing on his forehead.

"Falsifying evidence? Where did I do that?"

Gordon spread his hands, grinning maliciously. "My dear brother, you were there. You know better than anyone who really hit Randy.

In this video, it's clear that Evelyn and Edward did the hitting, and Landon from the Taylor family cleaned up after them. When did you ever lay a hand on him? I don't see it."

William felt as if his heart was being torn apart. He roared in anger, "Come at me! Don't hurt Evelyn!"

"There's something else you should know."

Gordon leaned forward, his gaze icy. "Evelyn is on her way to save you right now.

If I'm not mistaken, she's so desperate to save you that she'll probably confess and take all the blame herself, just to get you out."

"Evelyn... no..." William shook his head, the pain in his heart unbearable.

"One of you has to take the fall. The video doesn't lie, and Randy's injuries don't lie. William, you care about Evelyn, don't you? You wouldn't want her to get dragged into this because of you, right?"
