Chapter 512 The Only One Who Matters Is Her

On the other side, in the lounge of Track Two.

The horse race had just ended, and Tiffany couldn't wait to meet Percy.

"Percy, I'm here!"

Sometimes Tiffany felt that ever since she met Percy, she not only felt more relaxed but also became increasingly wild and fearless!

For over twenty years, she had maintained a fake persona within the Wellington family, hiding her true self, and every day she exhausted herself trying to please Patrick. Her life was miserable and exhausting.

Day after day, she catered to a man she had long grown tired of. She had had enough.

Percy's appearance was like a refreshing rain to her parched land, giving her ultimate nourishment, making her deeply addicted and unable to extricate herself.

With an excited heart, Tiffany knocked on the lounge door with trembling hands.

But after knocking for a long time, the door didn't open.

Impatiently, she pushed the door open and locked it behind her.

Unexpectedly, the lounge was empty.

"How could this be? He's not here?"

Puzzled, Tiffany noticed an empty table with a syringe on it!

She knew exactly what it was; it was the miracle drug that saved her life!

Breathing rapidly, Tiffany ran over joyfully, just about to pick it up when her phone rang.

It was as if Percy had eyes on her; the call came in so timely.

"Percy! Where are you?" Tiffany's eyes gleamed, her tone filled with eager anticipation.

"Tiffany, there are too many people at the track. If I meet you and get discovered, it would be hard to explain."

Percy seemed particularly considerate of her, thinking on her behalf, "I don't mind, but if your reputation is damaged, I would be very sad."

Tiffany was moved to tears, "Percy! You're the only one who treats me well in this world. I only have you!"

"I know you've had a hard time without the medication, so I brought it as a gift for you. I hope it can bring you some comfort."

After a brief moment of tenderness on the phone, they ended the call.

Tiffany couldn't wait any longer. She pulled out the needle, her bloodshot eyes wide with hunger, and injected every last drop of the drug into her arm.

"Ah!" Her eyes became dazed, and she collapsed to the ground like she had melted into water, tears and snot streaming down her face.

She looked bizarre, twisted, and ugly.

At this moment, she was no longer a noble lady; she was just a slave to drugs!

After getting her fix, Tiffany slowly walked to the mirror to tidy up her appearance.

Sure enough, with the help of the drug, she looked radiant and glowing, her skin even seemed more delicate.

However, she felt that this injection was different from the others, though she couldn't pinpoint exactly how.

The sudden knock on the door startled Tiffany, making her clutch her chest and bend over, staring at the door like a thief.

"Tiffany, are you in there?"

Carl's emotionless voice came through, making Tiffany's heart tighten!

At this moment, she was immensely grateful that Percy hadn't come to meet her privately; otherwise, how could she have hidden it?

After a while, Tiffany took a deep breath and opened the door, pretending to be calm.

"What is it?"

"Tiffany, what are you doing here? Patrick is looking for you everywhere." Carl said, his eyes constantly glancing into the room.

"I'm tired and have found a place to rest. What are you looking at? Do you suspect me of cheating?"

Tiffany crossed her arms and leaned against the door, sneering mockingly, "Go ahead, go in and sniff around with your nose, look carefully with your eyes! You'd better find some evidence, or I won't let you off!"

"Tiffany, you're overthinking. I didn't mean that."

Carl said no more, just smiled humbly, "Patrick asks you to go to the VIP section immediately. Everyone is there except you, and Patrick is worried that others might be displeased."

In the VIP section, the atmosphere was tense.

Jessica hid behind Maurice, her face pale and motionless as if frozen.

Since she could remember, Barry had always been with Maurice, helping him with countless dirty deeds, always handling them cleanly without leaving any loose ends. How could he be caught by Edward so quickly this time? It was impossible!

The other members of the Clark family were also in shock, their minds blank!

"Barry, how could it be you?" Maurice's tall figure swayed, and Neil quickly supported him.

It should be known that Barry was personally brought back from the orphanage by him, and he had spent a lot of time nurturing him. On the surface, he was an assistant, but secretly, Maurice had long regarded him as a foster son. Their relationship was evidently close!

"Maurice, I..."

Before Barry could finish his sentence, he felt a sharp pain in his waist as Bart kicked him heavily to the ground!

Everyone was shocked!

Evelyn's pupils contracted, her nerves tensed.

She couldn't believe that Bart, who always silently followed Edward and remained calm, had such a violent side. He was avenging her against Barry!

At this moment, Edward gently wrapped his arm around her waist and softly asked, "Did it scare you?"

"Why would I be scared of someone else getting beaten?" Evelyn snorted disdainfully, but the warmth from her waist made her feel at ease.

"In the past, I was always on the verge of exploding, and Bart would do his best to calm me down and keep me composed."

Edward squinted his starry eyes, nodding in satisfaction, "This time, it's Bart's first time losing his cool. His rage is all for Evelyn."

Evelyn's long lashes trembled, the man's magnetic voice and the hot breath on her earlobe made her want to shyly lower her gaze, as if an electric current was traveling down her spine, straight to her tailbone.

Bart's kick was so fast, it was like a flash of lightning!

One kick wasn't enough to vent his anger, so he kicked Barry hard in the ribs again, his eyes bloodshot, "Fuck! How dare you lay a hand on Evelyn? Do you want to die?"

"Bart, you're just a secretary, and you dare to touch someone from the Clark family?" Neil roared angrily, his face contorted.

All the people from the Clark Group surged forward, standing behind Maurice, glaring at Bart menacingly. Some were even itching to go, just waiting for Maurice's command to take him down!

"Who dares to touch my man?" Edward's starry eyes flashed as he coldly swept his gaze over the Clark Group, a chilling anger rising in his eyes.

Like a king holding the power of life and death, he gave everyone present an overwhelming sense of oppression!

The surroundings fell silent.

Seeing this, Bart's previously fearless face turned red with excitement, his lips trembling as he looked at Edward with tearful eyes.

"Edward, your man beat up someone from the Clark family in front of everyone. Who gave him the order?"

Maurice's thick, graying eyebrows furrowed as he glared angrily, "And you keep saying it was our people who harmed Evelyn and her horse. What do you mean by that?"

"Yeah, Edward, just because you're the CEO of the Wellington Group, does that mean you can do whatever you want? Watch your mouth, or I'll sue you for slander!" Neil pointed at Edward's cold, unflinching face, showing no respect, completely emboldened by his backing.

Eric held Molly tightly, caressing her rounded shoulder protectively, but looked at Neil with disdain.

The Clark Group accusing others of lawlessness? How absurd!

"Edward, did you investigate thoroughly before making such accusations?"

Tiffany, brought back by Carl, stumbled upon the scene and immediately joined the chorus against Edward, "Our Wellington Group and the Clark Group have been family friends for generations. You and Eric are like brothers. How can you make such accusations? It would harm the harmony between our families, and Maurice wouldn't feel good about it either, right?"

Eric quickly distanced himself, "Tiffany, I only look at the facts, not relationships. If necessary, I can even act against my own family. Don't try to drive a wedge between Edward and me!"

Tiffany fell silent.

The Clark family members were speechless, their faces grim with anger.

"So, in Tiffany's eyes, so-called harmony and dignity are far more important than the value of a life, right?" Edward suddenly sneered, his thin lips as sharp as a blade.

"I didn't say that."

"Because Barry tampered with the horse Evelyn was riding, causing her to fall while the horse was running, nearly costing her life. Do you think this doesn't deserve an explanation? Shouldn't I seek revenge for this?"

Edward's bloodshot eyes were filled with intense hatred, his voice trembling as he spoke the last few words, almost through gritted teeth, his heart aching painfully, "No matter who did it, I will make sure they die a horrible death. Don't think I care about reputation or dignity. The only thing I care about..."

The man slowly turned his gaze, filled with deep affection, unwaveringly looking at Evelyn, "Is her."

Evelyn's eyes suddenly reddened, tears welling up as she stared at him in a daze.

At this moment, it felt as if even her heart was soaked with the overwhelming emotions.

"Edward is so cool!" Eric muttered, both admiring and jealous.

"Wow! Edward really loves Evelyn." Molly's small head leaned against Eric's chest, letting out a sigh of relief.

She knew Tiffany hated Evelyn, and she had been very worried. But with Edward around, Evelyn would never be bullied.

"I love you too, Molly." Eric's warm kiss landed on her cheek.

"I know, you say it every day, my ears are tired of hearing it." Molly's voice was soft and teasing.

"Molly, believe me, I will be like Edward. Even if the whole world turns against me, I will never leave you. I will always protect you." Eric's eyes shone with sincere light.

Molly lowered her eyes, biting her lip in silence.

Compared to being pampered like a delicate flower in a greenhouse, she also wanted to help him. Even if she was clumsy and couldn't do much, she didn't want to be a burden to the person she loved most.

Some were happy, while others were naturally worried.

Everyone knew Edward's decisive and ruthless ways. No one present could stop him.

Jessica's eyes were bloodshot with hatred, coughing angrily.

Evelyn had everything she dreamed of, but all her scheming only pushed Edward further away!

"Edward, you keep saying it was Barry. Do you have any evidence?" Maurice asked coldly.

Edward's lips curled into a cold smile, not in a hurry to speak.

Barry's eyes darted around, betting that Edward had no evidence, just rumors or someone tipping him off, leading to his capture for questioning.

So he gritted his teeth and laughed, "I didn't do anything. I went to the stables to check on our Clark Group's horses, never touched the Taylor family's horse! Edward captured me for no reason and allowed his men to rough me up. What kind of grudge does he hold against the Clark Group? Or is he just using this despicable method to settle a personal score?"
