Chapter 371 A Woman Who Looked Like Her
Adrian stared at him in utter shock!
What did he mean by that?
If he weren't so handsome, Adrian would have thought he was a monster!
"Are you with the people who kidnapped me? Are you kidnappers?" Adrian asked, trembling.
"Mr. Mays, welcome to Mugden."
Landon squinted his eyes and extended his hand like a gentleman, "Let me introduce myself, I am Landon, the president of KnightSpear Group. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"KS?" Adrian was taken aback, "What is my aunt to you? Are you really...?"
"Just as you think." Landon clenched his fingers and smiled apologetically, "Let's shake hands after Ulysses unties you."
"Landon!" Ulysses strode back, muttering as he walked, "That bathroom is way too far!"
Landon frowned, somewhat amused and exasperated.
No matter how big Oasis Villa was, it was just a cage for Ulysses. He and Evelyn were the same at heart, both hating confinement and yearning for ultimate freedom.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but feel sorry for Evelyn again. Those three years of marriage to Edward were undoubtedly like being in prison for her.
"You! You!" Adrian's face twisted in anger when he saw Ulysses.
Luckily, he was good-looking; otherwise, it would have been quite scary.
Ulysses raised an eyebrow, casually draping his arm over the car door frame, and smirked mischievously, "What did I say? I said my hands weren't touching for nothing, and my thighs weren't sitting for nothing.
The benefits you enjoyed all came with a price."
Landon's eyes flickered, feeling that there was too much information in that statement for him to process.
Adrian spat at Ulysses, "How can you be so shameless? You actually traded on your appearance. Despicable!"
Ulysses made a vomiting gesture, "You think I wanted to? I sacrificed a lot for you. You've given me a psychological trauma; you're terrifying."
"You!" Adrian's handsome face turned bright red with anger.
Landon stepped forward and personally untied the ropes around Adrian's wrists and ankles.
He had never seen a man's skin so smooth. The friction from the ropes had left glaring red marks on his skin, inexplicably stirring a protective instinct within him.
"It hurts so much." Adrian rubbed his wrists, frowning.
Ulysses snorted disdainfully, "Disgusting."
Landon glanced at Adrian's red and swollen ankles, "Can you stand up?"
Adrian pressed his lips together and slowly stood up.
But his legs had been tied for hours and were numb; he could barely stand.
The next second, Adrian's body lurched forward, his slender hands clinging to Landon's broad shoulders, and he fell into his firm chest.
Landon, quick to react, wrapped his arm around Adrian's waist to prevent him from falling.
Ulysses watched in a daze.
"Sorry." Adrian's cheeks flushed.
He had been full of anger, but being held by Landon miraculously dissipated it.
"Don't say that; we should be the ones apologizing."
Without another word, Landon lifted Adrian in his arms.
Adrian was puzzled.
His heart pounded loudly.
Although he admitted he had always been infatuated with handsome men, wanting to flirt whenever he saw one, and couldn't control himself after a few drinks, which was why he fell for Ulysses' trick.
But this time, his feelings for Landon were completely different.
Involuntarily, Adrian raised his arms and wrapped them around Landon's neck.
"What is going on!"
At that moment, Evelyn arrived with Simon and William.
Seeing the scene before them, everyone was stunned!
"Is the person Mr. Taylor is holding a man or a woman?" William asked, confused.
Simon let out an excited shout.
Evelyn was also surprised, then looked at them speechlessly, "You guys need to get your eyes checked. That's clearly a man!"
Simon and William was stunned. "A man?"
Looking closely, indeed, it was a man, just with a very slender figure.
"All that excitement for nothing. I thought one of our men was finally going to be single no more."
Simon was disappointed, "Why is Landon holding a grown man so enthusiastically?"
"Mr. Mays, it must have been a tough journey." Evelyn walked over with a graceful smile, "If Ulysses made you uncomfortable, I apologize on his behalf."
"Are you the Evelyn my aunt always talks about?" Adrian's tone was arrogant, looking like a little princess in Landon's arms.
"Yes, I am Evelyn." Evelyn's expression remained unchanged, her beautiful eyes curved, "Mr. Mays, you must be hungry and tired from the journey. How about having a meal, taking a bath, and resting for the night? We can talk later."
"Ms. Taylor, I'm warning you, this is kidnapping, and I can sue you." Adrian gritted his teeth, still full of anger.
"I know, we were not good hosts this time, and we wronged you. To express our apology, let Landon accompany you for dinner tonight."
Landon remained silent.
"If you don't mind, he can also assist you with bathing and changing clothes." Evelyn's smile was bright and sweet, seemingly harmless.
Landon was speechless.
Adrian's long eyes lost focus for a moment, and his Adam's apple bobbed.
Everyone was stunned!
In the living room
Evelyn was intimately holding Ulysses, and Ulysses was also holding Evelyn. If they weren't siblings, others might think they were a newlywed couple reunited after a short separation.
"Evelyn, you've really worked hard this time." Evelyn pouted her delicate lips.
"It's not hard, just bringing someone back, what's so hard about that." Ulysses patted her head, his eyes filled with longing and tenderness, "As long as you're happy, I could even kill him."
William broke out in a cold sweat, and Simon almost spat out his tea!
At this moment, Landon came down the stairs. "He's asleep."
"He must be exhausted, let him rest well." Evelyn sighed, "I was too impatient. This might backfire, and if he refuses to help, I can't exactly put a knife to his throat and force him."
"Evelyn, don't worry." Landon sat beside her, gently wrapping his arm around her shoulder, "You still have us. Our existence is to help you accomplish what you can't."
"Exactly, Evelyn." Simon also comforted her, "Please let us do something for you, we're starting to feel useless!"
Evelyn's rosy lips trembled slightly, her eyes welling up with tears of gratitude.
She silently remembered any kindness shown to her, even from her brothers, and never took it for granted.
"Let me tell you something interesting." Ulysses' eyes suddenly lit up, "Evelyn, when I was in Mythorica, I met a woman who looked a lot like you. I mistook her for you and couldn't help but pat her. She turned around and glared at me, and that's when I realized it wasn't you.
"It was so awkward, but that woman dared to glare at me. In my thirty years of life, besides you, which woman has ever dared to glare at me?"
"Why shouldn't she glare at you? You're not that impressive." Simon teased him while sipping tea, "And can you stop joking? Evelyn is so beautiful, where could you find a woman who looks like her?"
Ulysses raised his chin and rolled his eyes at him.
"Ulysses, did you really see someone who looked like me?" Evelyn asked curiously.
"Very much so. I have good eyesight and rarely mistake people, but even I mistook her that time. You can imagine how similar you two look!"
Ulysses pondered, stroking his chin, "Do you think she could be Charlie's child? I should have asked her who her father was."
Evelyn and Simon fell silent.
"The world is big, it's not impossible for two people to look alike. You're overthinking it." Landon shook his head.
Suddenly, Evelyn's heart skipped a beat.
A scene flashed in her mind from that cold, snowy night when Edward grabbed her in the park, hysterically explaining to her.
He said he was innocent.
He said he followed her to that hotel out of concern because he saw someone who looked exactly like her entering the hotel with a strange man. That's why he chased after them, which led to him being caught and the scandal of him booking a room.
Evelyn's pupils contracted, and her heartbeat quickened.
Could it be that Edward was telling the truth?
Did he really see a woman who looked exactly like her?
But could there really be such a coincidence in the world?
Even if there was, why was Jessica also at that hotel, and why did Edward go to her room?
