Chapter 6 This Woman, Two Faces?

Edward's name appeared in Evelyn's line of sight, and her heart skipped a beat.
"Should I answer?" Landon asked.
"Yes!"
Landon calmly pressed the speakerphone button, but he didn't rush to speak.
"Mr. Taylor, is my wife with you?" Edward asked with a hoarse voice.
Evelyn was burning with anger. She felt extremely displeased by the word "wife."
"Mr. Wellington, mind your words. I am now your ex-wife."
"Lily, so you are with him," Edward said, even more displeased.
"What else? Do I have to stay in your house and wait to be thrown out with all my belongings?"
How mean!
Edward's voice on the other end of the phone grew darker. "I advise you not to be so impatient. We haven't completed the divorce procedures yet. Legally, you are still my wife, so you should consider both the Wellington Group's face and your own."
"You took Nicole to Riverside Villa while we were still married, forcing me to sign the divorce agreement. Edward, did you consider my face when you did these things?"
Evelyn sneered, "I don't need to hold back anymore. Why should I still consider the Wellington Group's face? After all, I have handed over my identity as your wife to Nicole. Let her take care of the Wellington Group!"
Landon raised an eyebrow and picked up his coffee cup, taking a sip of coffee.
This was the real Evelyn. The obedient and gentle wife she played for Edward in the Wellington family for the past three years was just an image she created for him.
Although she was always perfect, Landon preferred the unexpected and unrestrained side of her, like a proud rose.
Fortunately, she was back.
"I don't have time to argue with you now."
Edward sounded tired. "Grandfather is sick. He's in the hospital, shouting to see you and refusing to take his medicine."
Evelyn's heart suddenly skipped a beat.
Even though she and Edward had gone their separate ways, she had spent three years with the Wellington family, and Byron had genuinely been good to her. She didn't take anything with her and could let go of everything, but she couldn't help but worry about the adorable older man who was like a naughty child.

"He's at KnightSpear Group Hospital? Got it. I'll go see Grandpa later," Evelyn hung up the phone, sighing deeply and with great concern.

"Evelyn, let me drive you there," Landon said in a gentle voice.

"No need, I'm going to see Grandpa, not to provoke or challenge anyone. Taking you there would only escalate the conflict," Evelyn waved her hand, her expression mysterious. "I'll just go by myself."

At the hospital, Edward and Bart were standing by Byron's ward.

Evelyn hurriedly walked over. They hadn't seen each other for only a few days, but she immediately noticed that Edward had noticeably slimmed down.

She thought to herself, 'Damn it, why do I care about this? Whether he's gained weight or lost weight, it's not for me. It's none of my business!'

It was only when the sound of high heels approached that Edward and Bart both turned to look at her, feeling extremely shocked.

Edward especially could hardly recognize that this was the woman who had been his wife for three years.

"Bart, how is Grandpa doing?" Evelyn glanced at Bart, completely ignoring Edward.

"M-Mrs. Wellington, is that you?" Bart was stunned, so he asked a particularly dumb question.

Evelyn had a beautiful face with exquisite makeup. Her red lips were mesmerizing, making her look slightly seductive. She was wearing a sleek black suit that exuded a powerful female CEO vibe, accentuating her slender waist and long legs. The ruby butterfly brooch on her chest was striking, but it couldn't outshine her gaze.

It finally dawned on her that she had come in such a hurry that she had forgotten to transform into Lily, the obedient and well-behaved girl in a white dress and sneakers.

"Of course, it's me. What? Do I look ugly with my new style?"

"No! Your new style is much more beautiful than before! And with this attire... you seem even more confident and energetic," Bart said honestly.

"Is that so? Maybe it's because I'm divorced now," Evelyn laughed. "I've ended my miserable married life. I'm in a good mood and full of energy."

Edward's face darkened for a moment, and he couldn't help but feel irritable. "If you think it's miserable, why did you stay by my side for three years?"

"I've said it more than once. If you wanted to break off the engagement, I could've taken you to meet Grandpa anytime. You didn't have to endure three years like serving a sentence," Evelyn felt pain.

This was Edward. No one could change what he liked. And whatever he didn't like, no matter how sincere it was, he didn't spare it a second glance.
Evelyn was once attracted to him because of his cold and proud demeanor, and she fell deeply in love with him. However, she paid an unforgettable price for it.

"I promised Grandfather. I have to be faithful to the agreement. We agreed on three years, so even being one year, one day, or one hour late is not acceptable."

"Mr. Wellington, but now you are finally free. You can bring any woman you want home. You no longer have to sneak out at night to meet your lover." Evelyn coldly smiled, her beautiful face outstanding.

Edward was speechless.

He thought to himself, ' How can this woman be two-faced? Does she think that since we've separated, she can do whatever she wants?'

But to be honest, her sharp and fierce personality is much more eye-catching than her previous mild temperament. Edward's expression of weariness has also changed slightly.

"Edward!"

Evelyn coldly turned to look as she saw Nicole rushing over with Tiffany by her side.

When Nicole saw that Evelyn was also there, she couldn't help but show a fierce expression, which was quickly replaced by a charming and weak one.

"Why are you two here?" Edward asked in surprise.

Before he could finish speaking, Nicole threw herself into his arms, skillfully wrapping her frail arms around his strong waist.

"Edward, how could you not tell me about such a big incident? Do you not consider me your person?" Nicole said.

"Yes, Edward, you have no idea how worried Nicole was when she heard that Byron was hospitalized. She had a bit of oatmeal for lunch and then threw up..." Tiffany looked at Nicole with concern.

"Why did you suddenly throw up again?" Edward asked, worried.

"Nicole has always had stomach problems. She gets sick when she's nervous. We've seen many doctors, and they all say it's not a big issue, but it just can't be cured." Tiffany sighed.

Evelyn let out a cold laugh in her heart. She remembered how her stomach problems flared up before and how she went to the hospital all alone, sweating profusely. Although she didn't tell Edward afterward, he saw her weak and pale face, but he didn't care about her.

It turned out it was not that Edward didn't understand love.

It was just that in his world, Evelyn didn't deserve to have it.

Nicole leaned against Edward, squinting her eyes as she glanced sideways at Evelyn with a dark sneer.

She thought, 'Wait a minute!

How did this woman suddenly change so much? How did she become so beautiful?

And wasn't that butterfly brooch the latest work of Estonia's top designer Alexa Smith? It was worth five million dollars!

How could this outdated country bumpkin afford such luxurious jewelry? It must be fake!'
"Edward, let Nicole accompany you to see your grandfather. She cried on the way here. She is very worried about him," Tiffany urged enthusiastically, pretending that Evelyn, who had taken care of their family for three years, did not exist.

But Evelyn remained indifferent. She didn't care about Edward, let alone his stepmother.

At that moment, the hospital room door opened, and Tyler Bates, Byron's secretary, walked out.

"Mr. Byron asked me to come out and see. He asked if his granddaughter-in-law had arrived."

Upon hearing this, Nicole's expression stiffened, filled with jealousy.

"Tyler, I'm here," Evelyn anxiously approached.

Because she was worried about Byron, she didn't even bother to correct the title.

"Mrs. Wellington," Tyler respectfully gestured. "Mr. Byron asks you and Mr. Edward to go in."

Without hesitation, Evelyn marched into the hospital room, taking long strides.

Edward pursed his lips and followed closely behind her.

"Edward, wait for me..."

Nicole also wanted to follow, but Tyler coldly blocked her.

"I'm sorry. Mr. Byron said that he only wanted to see his grandson and granddaughter-in-law. Please leave."
