Chapter 448 Get Out of My Sight
Tiffany heard that she was grounded and was going crazy at home, throwing a fit and cursing at anyone she saw.
"Sorry, Mrs. Wellington, this is Mr. Wellington's order; we have to follow it."
Patrick's secretary, Carl Nelson, looked at her coldly, his tone dripping with sarcasm, "I suggest you go back to your room and stop making things difficult for us and yourself."
"After all, because of you, the entire Wellington family is in chaos. Please don't add more trouble for Mr. Wellington."
"How dare you!" Tiffany's eyes were bloodshot as she slapped Carl across the face, "I am the mistress of the Wellington family! You are just a dog relying on your master's power. How dare you speak to me like this?"
Carl laughed instead of getting angry, "Indeed, Mr. Wellington treats me well, and I do rely on his power. But Mrs. Wellington, you act so recklessly and lawlessly, abusing the staff, aren't you also relying on Mr. Wellington's power?"
Just as Tiffany was about to slap Carl again to teach him a lesson, Patrick walked in from outside with a blank expression.
"Patrick!" Tiffany immediately retracted her hand and threw herself at Patrick, crying pitifully, "You're finally back. Without you by my side, I can't go on living!"
In an instant, she changed her face, completely different from the fierce shrew she was just moments ago.
Carl snorted lightly, full of disdain.
"When I'm not here, you seem to be doing just fine, even having the energy to discipline my secretary." Patrick's lips curled into a cold sneer, his eyes devoid of warmth, making her scalp tingle.
"Patrick, I saw that the negative news about me at the funeral has been suppressed online. It must have been you, right?"
Tiffany, with tearful eyes, tried to snuggle into Patrick's arms, "I knew it, Patrick, you would do this for me. I knew you wouldn't just stand by when something happened to me."
Patrick suddenly stepped back, leaving Tiffany to fall awkwardly.
She looked up in shock, meeting Patrick's cold, piercing gaze.
"Who told you I did it for you?" Patrick sneered, "I did it for the Wellington family, for the Wellington Group."
Tiffany was stunned, unable to believe these words came from Patrick's mouth.
"Tiffany, I am indeed your husband, but my more important role is as the chairman of the Wellington Group. I'm not a tool to clean up your messes repeatedly."
Patrick looked away, unwilling to look at her any longer. "This is the last time. Next time, I'll throw you out and let them tear you apart. Even if you end up in prison, it has nothing to do with me or the Wellington family."
"The trouble you cause, you should bear the consequences. No one is obligated to take responsibility for your mistakes."
After saying this, Patrick walked forward without mercy, but Tiffany grabbed him tightly, "Patrick! How can you say that? I am your wife! I am your love! How can you bear to throw me out to be bullied?"
Patrick laughed out loud, prying her fingers off his arm one by one, "Our family can't accommodate someone as lawless as you. I can't handle a wife like you."
"Patrick! Are you saying you want to divorce me?" Tiffany almost screamed.
"Do you think I don't want to?" Patrick finally lost his patience, his anger erupting, "Do you think I don't want to divorce you? If it weren't for the internal and external troubles of the Wellington family, if it weren't for the fact that you bore me two daughters, do you think I would have kept you until now?"
Tiffany was terrified, her whole body filled with a cold chill as if all her blood had been drained.
She had always thought she could control Patrick to some extent, and since she had given him two daughters, she believed that no matter what, Patrick would never mention divorce, even for the sake of the company's interests and his reputation.
But when she heard the word "divorce" come out of Patrick's mouth, she instantly blacked out.
She had lost Patrick.
No! No!
Without the title of the chairman's wife of the Wellington Group, what would she be? Who would take her seriously?
It was because she was Patrick's wife that Edward and Evelyn had only been able to make indirect attacks for so long, unable to touch her foundation.
If she lost his protection, wouldn't they tear her apart?
"From now on, without my order, you are not allowed to step out of Riverside Villa. If you dare to disobey, I'll send you abroad, and you won't set foot in Mugden again!"
"How can you be so unreasonable, Patrick! I went to the funeral with good intentions to clean up the mess!"
"It was Evelyn who kept targeting me; she just wants to destroy the Wellington family, that's why things got so out of hand!" Tiffany frantically defended herself.
"Do you think I'm stupid?" Patrick no longer wanted to hear her lies, his tone cold and filled with hatred, "I investigated, those reporters were all hired by you!"
"You knew you were at odds with Evelyn, yet you deliberately brought people to provoke her. If you want to be a clown, don't blame others!"
"Get out of my sight, don't bother me again!"
"Patrick! You can't do this to me, Patrick!"
In their intense struggle, there was a loud noise.
The wooden box in Patrick's hand fell to the ground, and its contents spilled out!
Seeing Amanda's belongings scattered on the ground, especially the gemstone bracelet he had given her, now broken in two, Patrick's eyes filled with a raging fire, his gaze burning with anger, almost leaping out of his eyes!
Tiffany was terrified by his fierce look, and when she saw the items on the ground, her face turned pale.
She recognized them as Amanda's belongings.
Why was he holding Amanda's things?
A dead woman, someone he had forgotten for twenty years, why did he cherish her relics so much?
"Get out, now."
Patrick knelt on one knee, his face full of pain, picking up each small item and holding them tightly in his hand.
"Patrick, I didn't mean to."
"Get out!"
Patrick roared angrily, almost screaming.
