Chapter 496 The Four Families, Gathering at the Racetrack

The annual grand event arrived as scheduled.

Every year, the horse racing event not only sees the attendance of members from the nation's wealthiest and most influential families, but it is also broadcast live on major platforms by the authorities. Even members of royal families from friendly nations participate, making it an unprecedented spectacle.

The venue for the horse racing event is organized by a different prominent family each year.

This year, it was the turn of the Alexander family.

The event was held at the Alexander family's Central Racecourse, which had been completed less than six months ago. The racecourse hadn't even officially opened to the public yet, and it was already hosting such a grand event, much to Elbert's delight!

Could there be any better publicity?

As for the Wellington family, since Byron was getting older and had stepped back from the limelight, he rarely attended such events. So today, Patrick was taking Tiffany to the racecourse, while Edward went alone.

Just as they were about to leave, Debra hurriedly ran out in a sexy, tight-fitting pink dress.

Patrick coldly eyed her inappropriately extravagant outfit and shook his head. "The racecourse is an outdoor environment. With your skirt that short, what will you do when a gust of wind blows?"

With that, Patrick turned and got into the car first, leaving Tiffany and Debra behind.

Debra was seething inside but didn't dare show it. After all, opportunities like this were rare, and she couldn't afford to anger Patrick any further.

As Tiffany was about to get into the car, Debra grabbed her and whispered, "Mom, did you wear it?"

"Yes," Tiffany replied, looking very embarrassed.

This morning, it had taken her a long time to mentally prepare herself to wear that thing. Even though it was just like a sanitary pad, she felt extremely ashamed and humiliated.

She was, after all, the wife of the chairman of the Wellington Group! How could she be using such things at her age? It was so undignified!

"Mom, did you bring extra? Your incontinence is severe; one won't be enough," Debra said worriedly.

"How could I bring more? Where would I put such a big thing? It's easy for you to say!"

Tiffany blushed and gritted her teeth. "The ladies entering the venue will at most carry a small handbag. If I carry a big bag, I'll be a laughingstock! One will have to do, and I'll just avoid drinking water!"

"Besides, once I get through today, I won't have to use this wretched thing again!"

After venting her frustration, Tiffany got into the car.

Debra sat in another car, pondering Tiffany's words.

What did she mean by "once I get through today"?

Suddenly, it dawned on her!

At ten o'clock sharp in the morning, the Central Racecourse was bustling with activity.

This year's attendance at the horse racing event was more than double that of previous years, exceeding the organizers' expectations!

The best seats in the second-floor VIP section were reserved for the four major families.

The Wellington family, the Alexander family, the Clark family, and the Taylor family from Hameen.

Many wealthy young ladies were looking through binoculars, full of envy as they gazed at the VIP section.

Some of them had hoped to sneak into that area, but the security was tight. If you weren't a member of the four major families or their invited guests, you couldn't get close.

"Debra and Jessica are only there because of their family backgrounds. In terms of looks and temperament, they don't deserve the sons of the Alexander family and the Wellington family!"

"Exactly! Among all the wealthy young ladies, the only one I truly admire is Evelyn from the Taylor family."

"Indeed, Evelyn not only has a noble background but is also a hotel CEO and an internationally renowned jewelry designer. What do Debra and Jessica have besides their coquettish behavior?"

"Without their family backgrounds, they are nothing!"

"So what if she has a thousand titles? She's still a divorced woman," one of the socialites sneered.

The two young ladies chatting with her rolled their eyes in unison. "Ms. Taylor is a true noblewoman. Some people are just jealous!"

"It's the modern age. Who still thinks divorced women are a problem? For wealthy and powerful women, marriage is just a burden!"

"Exactly! And didn't you see that interview? Edward admitted that he cheated during the marriage. Why keep such a man? Ms. Taylor must have kicked him out!"

The socialite, full of resentment, didn't dare say another word.

After going through so much, Evelyn's fan base in Mugden had only grown.

Talented, kind, beautiful, and noble—who wouldn't love such a woman?

Since the Alexander family was the host, they were the first to arrive.

The Wellington family was second, with Patrick and Tiffany appearing hand in hand before the media, dispelling rumors of a broken marriage.

Debra followed behind them, strutting arrogantly. She treated every camera as if she were a star on the red carpet.

Unfortunately, not a single camera focused on her.

"What? Mr. Wellington isn't here? We've been waiting for nothing!" a female reporter complained.

"How could he not come? Just be patient!"

"All four major families will be here today. It's going to be lively!"

A reporter excitedly adjusted their camera, ready to capture any sensational moments. "Evelyn will definitely show up, and Jessica will be there too. When the two women face off, one being the ex-wife and the other a rumored lover, what will Mr. Wellington do?"

"Just thinking about it gives me chills!"

"Didn't Mr. Wellington publicly declare during the maid's funeral that he belonged to Ms. Taylor? Wasn't that a blatant confession?"

"He says so, but is it true?"

"Maybe he was just trying to clear his name for cheating during the marriage! If that's the case, how do you explain his late-night rendezvous with Jessica at the hotel?"

"If Evelyn still wants to reconcile with Edward after all this, she's blind and foolish. I have no respect for him!"

As the Wellington family entered the venue, the Clark family's car arrived.

A fleet of black luxury cars made a grand entrance, fitting the Clark family's wealthy and ostentatious style.

Bodyguards opened the car door, and Neil was the first to step out, followed by Sophia and Jessica.

"Dad, take it slow."

"Grandpa, let me help you!"

Neil and Jessica put on a show of family harmony for the media, each supporting Maurice on one side.

Maurice seemed to be in a good mood. Usually stern and serious, he even managed a slight smile.
