Chapter 501 Gave Herself a Hard Slap
Edward had other matters to attend to, so he and Evelyn entered the inner area, shared a brief moment of tenderness, and then parted ways.
Evelyn walked alone towards the VIP section, the sound of her high heels echoing in the empty corridor.
"Hey, stop right there!"
Jessica's shrill, piercing voice came from behind.
Evelyn kept walking, not slowing her pace.
In fact, from the beginning, she knew Jessica was following her, but she simply didn't care.
"Did you hear me? Stop!"
Jessica, lifting her messy skirt, ran a few steps to block Evelyn's path, almost stumbling from the rush.
To Evelyn, this scene was nothing short of hilarious.
"You think I'll stop just because you told me to? Who do you think you are?"
"You!" Jessica's face contorted with rage.
"If you have something to say, say it. If not, get lost. I don't have time to waste on you." Evelyn's red lips curved into a smile, her beautiful eyes deep and cold as ice.
Jessica's body trembled slightly, clearly intimidated by Evelyn's aura.
She felt that Evelyn was becoming more and more like Edward, and even their gazes were identical.
"No business, huh? Then get lost."
Just as Evelyn was about to step forward, Jessica's eyes widened with malice, "Do you think Edward truly cares about you? He's just playing along because you're now the daughter of the Taylor family!"
Evelyn couldn't help but laugh, "Whether it's an act or not, I know, and you know, too. If it were as you say, you should be standing aside, watching me make a fool of myself, not shamelessly coming over to provoke me."
Jessica was momentarily at a loss for words, choked up.
"And, Miss Clark, do you know what the most pathetic kind of person in this world is?"
Evelyn leaned in slightly, her scarlet lips curling into a mocking smile, "It's someone like you, who tries to deceive others to satisfy their dark desires, but ends up deceiving themselves, living in hypocrisy and delusion."
Jessica trembled with shame and anger!
Clearly, Edward and Evelyn had resolved their conflicts and misunderstandings, and her tricks could no longer hurt her!
But she wasn't giving up!
So Jessica gritted her teeth, forcing a sinister smile, "Evelyn, do you really believe everything Edward says? I thought you were smarter, but it turns out you're just a fool, blinded by love, easily swayed by a man's sweet words!"
"I advise you to save your breath." Evelyn chuckled lightly, "Do you think I'll believe what you say?"
"Believe it or not, I still have to tell you."
Jessica leaned close to her ear, her words dripping with sarcasm, "Edward came into my room, the reporters caught it, and you saw it too. Aren't you curious about what happened when we were alone together?"
"I had just finished showering, completely naked, and Edward held me so tightly, his breath so heavy and hot."
Evelyn's eyes turned red with uncontrollable anger!
Though she trusted Edward, her mind still conjured up unbearable images.
"His sweaty hands gripped my waist, caressing it repeatedly. He must have found my skin smooth and my waist soft; otherwise, why would he be so reluctant to let go?"
Jessica covered her mouth, laughing wildly, "Judging by your expression, Edward must not have told you any of this, right? Of course, he would hide such a sweet experience from you forever."
"Men are like that, they say no to a young, beautiful body, but their actions speak otherwise!"
"Jessica." Evelyn's eyes were sharp as knives, her face cold as frost.
"What, are you angry? Didn't you just say you wouldn't believe me? Well, everything I said is true, you can't help but believe it now, can you?"
Seeing Evelyn's anger, Jessica's expression turned almost maniacal with excitement. She poked her cheek with her finger, "Come on, hit me. You must be so mad you want to kill me, right? Come on, hit me."
Evelyn clenched her fists tightly, her nails almost digging into her flesh.
But she knew she couldn't strike.
Jessica wanted this; she wanted to provoke her. If she hit her, she would lose!
However, in the next second, a crisp sound was heard.
Evelyn stared in shock!
She watched as Jessica raised her hand and slapped herself hard!
The slap was so fierce that her cheek swelled, and her carefully styled hair became disheveled.
Then, Jessica gave a sinister smile, crashed through the closed door behind her, and fell to the ground, covering her face and crying out pitifully.
Outside the door, there were media, guests, and staff.
All eyes were on Jessica and Evelyn standing at the door.
"What happened? Let's go see!"
"Miss Clark and Ms. Taylor are fighting? Why? So disgraceful!"
"Why else? Over a man, of course!"
"Could it be Mr. Wellington? Mr. Wellington is so popular, these rich girls are fighting over him!"
"It looks like Ms. Taylor struck first, and she didn't hold back. Miss Clark's face is swollen."
"This isn't right, they're both prominent figures. No matter how angry you are, you shouldn't hit someone. Ms. Taylor's behavior is too much."
The guests murmured, all pointing fingers at Evelyn.
They clearly saw her as the aggressor, saying she lacked decorum.
At this moment, reporters also rushed over with their cameras, surrounding Jessica.
Jessica began her performance, trembling and tearful, staring at Evelyn's expressionless face, sobbing, "Evelyn, you've gone too far!"
"Even if you hate me because of Mr. Wellington, I've never caused you trouble or spoken ill of you. Why do you have to oppose me and even hit me?"
"Just because your father is the richest man in Hameen, just because you manage KnightSpear Group, does that give you the right to bully others?"
As she spoke, Jessica started to cry, her pitiful appearance moving the onlookers.
"So what if she's Hameen the richest man's daughter? This is Mugden!"
"Miss Clark's family is also prestigious. Why should she endure this? If it were me, I'd slap her back!"
Listening to the gossip, Evelyn didn't get angry but laughed instead, her beautiful eyes full of disdain, her scarlet lips curling into a smile that could captivate anyone, yet it sent chills down their spines!
Laughing? She was actually laughing?
Jessica was momentarily stunned, her expression frozen, even forgetting how to cry.
"Interesting, truly rare." Evelyn looked at her coldly, showing no fear, "Originally, I did want to hit you, but I didn't expect you to hit yourself."
"Well then, you've saved me the trouble. Today is truly a good day; otherwise, how could I witness such a wonderful scene?"
