Chapter 308 Evelyn Sets Another Trap

7:00 PM, KS WORLD Hotel.

Compared to the quietness over at Tiffany's, this place was bustling with activity!

Luxury cars were lined up outside the hotel, and the guests were all from prestigious families and industry elites. Each one was adorned in jewels and dressed to the nines, appearing wealthy and noble.

Although Charlie had agreed to Joyce's request to keep the birthday party low-key, the Taylor family's status was well-known, and they had recently shown interest in expanding into Mugden. Who would dare not give Charlie a face?

Moreover, Charlie had a daughter, Evelyn, who had been in the limelight recently!

To avoid overshadowing Joyce, Donna, and Susan did not make an appearance in the main hall but were upstairs entertaining long-time friends tonight.

They didn't feel neglected; instead, they were delighted to have such a rare moment of relaxation.

Outside, as Joyce's only daughter, Jennifer naturally couldn't stay idle and was helping Evelyn greet the guests.

Jennifer's light yellow chiffon evening gown was personally chosen by Evelyn. Her slender legs were faintly visible under the pale yellow skirt, shining dreamily and beautifully.

She was very grateful to Evelyn, knowing that Evelyn had put a lot of effort into dressing her up.

But even so, she still felt that Evelyn, despite not dressing up much and only wearing a simple yet elegant black floor-length evening gown that slightly revealed her shoulders, looked stunningly beautiful, making her feel inferior.

Secretly glancing at Evelyn, Jennifer found herself mesmerized.

"Jennifer? Is there something on my face?" Evelyn blinked her beautiful eyes at the dazed Jennifer.

"No," Jennifer blushed inexplicably.

"Are you tired? There's still some time before the birthday party starts. I can get you a room upstairs to rest."

"No need, I'm not tired!" Jennifer shook her head quickly.

"Ms. Evelyn Tyler, the Alexander family is here!"William, who had been greeting guests outside, rushed in, sweating from the effort.

Seeing this, Jennifer quickly took out a handkerchief from her evening bag, tightly clenching it in her hand but not daring to hand it to him.

"William, look at you, sweating so much," Evelyn smiled meaningfully, she placed her hand on Jennifer's slender waist, and then gently pushed her forward, "Jennifer, you have a handkerchief, go wipe William's sweat."

Both William and Jennifer were stunned, and then their cheeks blushed shyly.

Jennifer twisted the handkerchief in her hand, awkwardly approaching William.

When she mustered up the courage and raised her hand to wipe his sweat, he quickly grabbed the handkerchief and wiped his forehead, his heart racing, "No need, thank you."

"You're welcome," Jennifer bit her pink lips, feeling a bit disappointed.

"Your handkerchief is dirty now. I'll buy you a new one later," William awkwardly put her handkerchief away.

"No need; consider it a gift from me," Jennifer smiled dryly.

Evelyn saw this, feeling anxious.

William is usually so attentive and considerate around her, but why is he so clueless when it comes to Jennifer?

She was increasingly sure that there was something between these two!

At this moment, the Alexander family had already made a grand entrance.

The four children of the Alexander family, except for Helen who was abroad, were all supposed to come, but Gilbert was nowhere to be seen.

Calvin, accompanied by his wife Ashley Garcia, walked in front, followed by Randy.

Seeing Calvin, Evelyn's beautiful eyes darkened.

"Evelyn, long time no see," Randy's eyes lit up when he saw Evelyn, and he, usually so proud, showed unusual enthusiasm towards her.

Evelyn smiled faintly, "We met last time you visited my house, so it's not a long time. But you haven't seen my sister Jennifer in a while."

She could see that Randy was very attentive to her, which was understandable. After all, who wouldn't like a perfect woman like her? But she couldn't stand seeing Jennifer, also a daughter of the Taylor family, being ignored and neglected!

Randy was momentarily embarrassed; he hadn't recognized Jennifer.

"Hello, Randy," Jennifer didn't mind, smiling warmly.

Calvin's stern face remained expressionless as he glanced at Jennifer and William, then smiled faintly, "Randy, you're too straightforward. You're usually thorough in your dealings, but once you see Evelyn, you only have eyes for her. That's not right. Hurry up and apologize to Jennifer."

"It was my oversight, my mistake. Sorry, Jennifer, my apologies!" Randy said.

Jennifer smiled slightly a bit embarrassed.

"Please, come in. William, take them inside," Evelyn smiled and instructed.

"Yes, Ms. Evelyn Tyler," William replied.

After the Alexander family left, William returned to Evelyn's side after a while and whispered, "Ms. Evelyn Tyler, may I have a word with you?"

Evelyn and William moved to a quiet spot in the hallway.

"Evelyn, Calvin's mistress, who bullied Jennifer that night, is here! She has an invitation and is already inside!" William frowned and asked in a low voice, "Should I have her thrown out now?"

"Throw her out? Why bother? She has an invitation. Doing that would make us look petty," Evelyn leaned against the wall, arms crossed, looking as exquisite as a finely crafted sculpture.

"That's strange! I checked every invitation we sent out. There were no mistakes—one per person! How could she have one?" William was puzzled.

"‘Cause I gave her the invitation."

William gasped, "Ms. Tyler, what did you say?"

"I said, I invited that woman named Brenda," Evelyn's lips curved like a beautiful crescent moon, her eyes revealing a fox-like cunning, "There's no better time than tonight to stand up for Jennifer."
