Chapter 84 Are You Just Going to Let Yourself Fall Like This?

After the dance, Evelyn and the male dancer held hands and took a bow.

"Even though it was just a private party, her dance made it feel like a high-end event!"

Nicole listened to the compliments, her eyes burning with jealousy.

Back in the day, she was a piano prodigy, great at singing and dancing, winning tons of awards. But when she went abroad, she got caught up in partying and hooking up with guys. Now, she was good in bed, but her old talents were long forgotten.

"Edward, Ms. Brown is amazing. But is it really okay to dance like that in public? I'd be embarrassed to wear something so skimpy."

Nicole said, but when she turned around, Edward was already gone!

Edward walked quickly to the backstage corridor.

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't stop thinking about Lily's captivating look, his throat getting dry.

He told himself it was just anger from Lily's constant challenges and lies.

Suddenly, Edward heard an excited male voice from the corner.

"The woman I danced with today was so beautiful! I've never touched a waist that slim!"

It was meant as a compliment. But to Edward, it was like lighting a fuse.

The male dancer heard the sound of hard-soled shoes behind him and turned around, only to get punched!

Edward, a former soldier, sent the guy flying with that punch!

The dancer hit the ground, writhing in pain and crying out.

Edward's voice was cold and harsh. "You think you can touch her? Who do you think you are?"

"You're Edward Wellington?!"

The dancer was terrified, "Aren't you going to marry Ms. Adams?! I didn't know that lady is yours."

Mentioning Nicole only made things worse.

Edward's fist tightened again.

"Edward! What are you doing?!"

Edward turned sharply to see Evelyn and Betty approaching, his expression icy.

The dancer crawled to them, blood dripping from his mouth.

"Edward, beating someone on my place for no reason, you've gone too far!" Betty pointed angrily at Edward.

"He said some nasty things."

Edward's eyes were cold and sharp, and he clenched his fingers. "I punched him to teach him a lesson about who he can and can't talk about."

Evelyn was stunned!

'Edward always carried himself with dignity, never clashing with small fry. What's wrong with him today? Did he have grenades for lunch?'

"What exactly happened?!" Betty glared at the dancer.

"I didn't insult Ms. Brown. I was just happy dancing with her and got excited, so I bragged to a friend."

The male dancer was shaking with fear. "I didn't expect Edward to hear it and then hit me."

"Enough!" Evelyn frowned, raising her hand. "Betty, take him to get his injuries checked."

"Evelyn, I can't leave you here alone!"

Betty glanced at Edward, whispering, "I think Edward's mental state isn't good. Hitting people randomly must be a sign of mania!"

"Yeah, I think so."

Evelyn nodded coldly. "But don't worry. He won't dare do anything to me."

As Evelyn and Betty whispered, Edward heard every word.

His face darkened with anger.

Though worried, Betty couldn't disobey Evelyn and quickly took the male dancer away.

The air was tense and heavy.

Edward noticed Evelyn still wearing that sexy red dress, remembering the male dancer's words, making him even more displeased.

He strode over, taking off his suit jacket and handing it to her expressionlessly.

"Put it on."

Evelyn's eyes flashed with defiance, and she slapped his hand away, letting the jacket fall to the ground.

"Edward, what's wrong with you? Hitting people for no reason and making me wear your clothes? Are you trying to annoy me?"

"Lily!" Edward's pupils contracted.

"I know you like obedient women like Nicole. But sorry, that's not me. I pretended to be obedient for three years, and I'm done with it.

"Now that we're divorced, you don't get to care what I wear. I can do whatever I want, and it's none of your business, especially since you're about to marry someone else!" Evelyn's sharp eyes were like daggers.

"So after leaving me, you just let yourself go?"

Edward's face turned pale with anger. "You can dance, but why wear so little? Don't you have any shame? Letting that man touch you?!"

Evelyn laughed out loud. "Edward, you wouldn't happen to like me, would you?"

"What nonsense are you talking about?!" Edward's heart skipped a beat.

Evelyn stepped closer, raising her face to meet his stunned eyes. "If you don't like me, why do you care so much? Or is it just your possessiveness?"

"Lily, you think I'm possessive?" Edward's eyes widened.

"Otherwise, do you think you deserve any kind words from me today?"

Evelyn suddenly stopped smiling. "Edward, stop bothering me and go find your fiancée.

"Entangling with your ex-wife behind your fiancée's back, that's truly letting yourself go!"

With that, her red dress fluttered as she turned sharply.

Edward grabbed her wrist in a panic, causing her pain and making her eyes redden, unable to break free.

"If you're angry with me, take it out on me. Using others is too despicable!"

"Using others?" Evelyn was stunned, not understanding what he meant.

"Nicole came this time to ask Betty to design her dress. Not only did she refuse, but she also made things difficult! Can you say you didn't instruct her? Can you say you didn't use this opportunity for revenge?!"
