Chapter 365 The Condition Is Very Bad
Elbert, desperate to save his son, called Charlie that night to confirm that he and Evelyn were home. Early the next morning, he took Gilbert straight to Hameen Oasis Villa.
"Charlie! Charlie, you have to save Randy this time!"
Elbert started shouting with a sobbing tone as soon as he entered, completely disregarding his image in front of Charlie.
Charlie and Donna came out immediately to greet him.
Seeing Elbert's somewhat disheveled and obviously haggard appearance, Charlie secretly chuckled to himself.
Elbert had been competing with him in looks all his life, and finally, he couldn't hold it together first!
"Elbert, what's happened to you?" Donna was very surprised to see him in such a distraught state.
Elbert hurried over to them, but being older, he stumbled on a stone.
Next, he staggered and directly knelt in front of Charlie and Donna!
Charlie and Donna were silent.
Elbert's hand cramped up, causing him great pain.
"Dad! Are you okay?" Gilbert quickly stepped forward to help Elbert up, but inside, he was amused.
Elbert didn't bother to compose himself and grabbed Charlie's arm, "Charlie, Randy had a car accident a few days ago, a serious one!"
Charlie and Donna were shocked, "What happened?"
"The night Randy came home, it was raining heavily. The road was slippery, and visibility was low. A speeding truck overturned his car."
Gilbert, supporting Elbert, looked regretful, "Randy's legs were crushed under the car, resulting in comminuted fractures. The doctor said both legs need to be amputated."
"Amputated?" Charlie was taken aback.
"You watched Randy grow up; you can't just watch him become disabled, right?" Elbert's eyes sparkled with hope, "I heard from Gilbert that Evelyn is a miracle worker with exceptional medical skills! Can she help save Randy?"
"Uncle Elbert."
At this moment, Evelyn walked out of the villa.
In the morning light, her radiant face looked stunning. She seemed to have just woken up, her eyes still a bit hazy, and her freshly washed hair was still dripping. Her makeup-free face had a rosy glow, making her look incredibly lovely.
Gilbert gazed at her intently, his Adam's apple moving, unable to look away.
One shouldn't meet someone so beautiful at a young age, as it leads to years of unfulfilled longing and loneliness.
"Evelyn, please help me. You must save Randy!" Elbert rushed forward, holding Evelyn's hands, almost in tears.
"I heard most of what you said."
Evelyn spoke gently, "I'm a doctor, and saving lives is my duty. Randy is your son; I can't just stand by."
She didn't have much of a relationship with Randy, but because of Charlie and Elbert, she had to help.
"Thank you, thank you, Evelyn!" Elbert felt a bit relieved.
"But Uncle Elbert, I have to be upfront. I'm just an ordinary doctor. I need to see Randy's condition myself to give you an accurate answer."
"Evelyn, with you helping, Randy is sure to be saved! I heard from Gilbert that you performed a successful brain surgery on Edward!" Elbert said urgently. "You can operate on a brain; reattaching Randy's legs should be no problem for you!"
Evelyn pursed her lips and unintentionally met Gilbert's gaze.
Gilbert smiled lightly.
"Alright, I'll do my best."
In the afternoon, Evelyn, Elbert, and Gilbert returned to Mugden.
Evelyn was a savior to the Alexander family and received the highest level of hospitality.
As a doctor, Evelyn only wanted to save lives; she didn't care about anything else and went straight to Randy's room.
Randy was still unconscious. He should have woken up, but the doctors increased his anesthesia to prevent him from being overwhelmed by the shock.
An hour later, Evelyn, the hospital director, and two surgical professors came out, looking serious.
"Evelyn, how is Randy?" Elbert rushed over immediately.
The Alexander family, along with secretaries and bodyguards, crowded around.
Evelyn frowned, remained silent for a moment, and then spoke softly, "Uncle Elbert, Randy's leg condition is very bad. The fractures are so severe that even piecing them together with steel pins is difficult. The damage is extensive.
"The chances of a full recovery are zero, and the chances of him walking again are less than twenty percent."
The Alexander family was in an uproar.
Elbert, supported by Calvin and Helen, almost fainted.
Only Gilbert stood alone in a corner, unnoticed, with his gold-rimmed glasses reflecting cold light and a slight smile on his lips.
"Ms. Taylor! Even if there's only a one percent chance, please save him!" Calvin pleaded anxiously.
"Of course, since I'm here, I'll do my best." Evelyn's eyes flickered, and she hesitated to speak.
Elbert noticed she had something to say and quickly asked, "Evelyn, if you have something to say, just say it!"
"Uncle Elbert, are you sure Randy's leg injuries were really caused by the car accident?"
Evelyn's question stunned the Alexander family.
Only two people had inscrutable expressions: Calvin and Gilbert.
